Constable of Maridun

- Intent: To create a companion, bodyguard and administrative assistant to support and act as a Rp foil for my character.

PHYSICAL INFORMATION
- Age: 65 years, (5 years since major refurbishment)
- Model: KX-Series Security Droid
- Appearance: For all intents and purposes it is mechanically identical to the cannon KX-Series however it is 3kg heaver and 15 centimeters shorter due to equipment and locomotion updates. Besides the slight height differential, the only visible differences are the addition of integral Mandalorian style gauntlets on its forearms, orange photoreceptors and a beskar electroplate coating replacing the normal black Carboplast plating color giving the droid an updated and stylish Mandalorian inspired grey metallic finish.
SOCIAL INFORMATION
- Name: Ta-2p0 (Tactical Administrative Protection and Protocol Officer) Colloquially called Tappo or Tap. He holds the rank of Constabulary Sergeant (Russ'alor). In official Mandalorian records his model number is not listed as KX but as Ta-2p0 as a PR effort to obfuscate the sinister reputation of the KX series. If asked about his resemblance to a KX droid he is programed to be able to say "Can't Say I Remember No KX series." (In an accent that sounds nothing like a pirate.)
- Loyalties: Ta-2p0 is utterly loyal to his owner Dral-Kar'ta above all else. As an ostensible Police Droid he is loyal to his squad, The Mandalorian Empire and Law Enforcement in general.
- Notable Equipment:
- Skills: Retains the abilities of the KX series and has the combat training of a Mandalorian warrior, has the basic skills common to a Protocol droid with a Law Enforcement protocol DLC added, Basic skills common for Astromech droids, Enhanced Administrative skill set enabled including the Personal Departmental Assistant, and Complete Mandalorian Civil and Criminal Law Codes Apps and basic field Medic functions. Unbeknownst to his owner Ta2p0 has downloaded an app titled 'How to cheat at Dejarik.'
- Languages: As his Protocol functions are a secondary modification, he is only fluent in three million forms of communication. Mando'a and Galactic Basic are his primary forms of communication. He is particularly adept at using Jawaese swear words.
- Personality: An architype of the old timey strait-laced objective lawman of 1940's TV shows such as Dragnet. Objective, serious, formal, sometimes cynical and abrasive. His vocal receptors deliver deep toned slightly sinister speech tones using deadpan, emotionless, bureaucratic and sometimes cynical speaking patterns. Modifications have curbed the KX-series penchant for overwhelming indiscriminate violence but his speech patterns still utilize threats of force and violence as a matter of course. An incompatibility between his self-preservation and jet-pac protocols had induced a fear of heights into his logic receptors but is able to suppress this reaction if Dral calls him a 'Big Baby.' He tends to perceive humans as belonging to 5 general categories: Allies (to obey and assist) Civilians (to serve and protect), Suspects (to be investigated) Perpetrators (to be arrested) and Criminals (to be subdued or terminated). He has developed a deep bond with his owner Dral-Kar'ta and has begun to emulate his personality as a result.
COMBAT INFORMATION
- Weapon of Choice: He prefers to use his integral TZ-97 Shock Baton in non-lethal settings to persuade meatbags citizens to obey the law. When a long arm is needed, he uses his issue Ori Sidaki. For general carry he uses two A-180 Blasters (one in pistol and 1 in carbine configuration) because that is what Dral-Kar'ta uses. For sport he uses an Amban Phase-Pulse Blaster Rifle because disintegrating things makes him giggle.
- Combat Function: Ta2p0's primarily combat function is to support and protect his primary. In a crowded non-lethal situation, such as a bar fight or riot, his strength, agility and non-lethal close quarters abilities are formidable. In lethal kinetic combat per his HK lineage his strength is in ranged fire support and his Mandalorian military training allows him to be a force multiplier for his principal.
Strengths:
- Brute Strength: Ta-2p0 possesses massive physical strength and can effortlessly throw organic beings, punch through metal armor plating, and smash through duracrete or durasteel doors.
- Exceptional Durability: Equipped with thick composite armor, he can often withstand multiple blaster bolts and physical strikes without losing speed or function
- Unrestricted Combat Initiative: He is from standard droid safety protocols, is an expert marksman and a devastating hand-to-hand combatant.
- Enhanced programing allows him to undertake Administrative, Law Enforcement and Astromech functions.
- Self-Aware Loyalty: The structure of his custom reformatting inadvertently granted him a self-aware personality. This gives him basic free will and deep personal devotion to his companions, allowing him to act with creative independence.
Weaknesses:
- Increased processing capabilities builds up heat that must be vented. If unable to dissipate the accumulated heat via standard radiation a Forced Ambient Radiative Thermal-vent procedure is executed which expels the accumulated hot gasses into the atmosphere.
- Is vulnerable to Light Saber Damage.
- Can get frustrated when Humans assume he will be violent which causes him to become violent.
- Literal-Mindedness: Their strict logic circuits mean he struggles with conversational nuance and often take descriptive statements or sarcastic commands literally.
- Compromised Diplomatic Filter: Although he is proficient in Military, Legal, and technical protocols his altered heuristics has introduced an inherent sarcasm and bluntness in his demeanor makes him woefully incompatible to perform tasks that require tact or delicacy.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Ta2p0 (then K-C130) was manufactured in 2 BBY but only spent three idyllic years oppressing the local population and physically coercing the citizenry to accept the order imposed by the Empire before the Empire disintegrated and he was deactivated and placed in storage. Due to a clerical error that classified his container as 'Miscellaneous Droid Components # 6252-E5067(a)' he spent the next eight hundred years in stasis on a backwater storage depot before finally being uncovered by some minor Imperial Remnant. He spent the next thirty years being poorly treated and un-appreciated by an unending series of groups that would form only to fracture due to bickering and incompliance. Disappointed at the continued lack of order and efficiency of the Imperials, during one forced relocation he became separated from his faction and decided to go out on his own and ended up as a Code Enforcement Officer for a HOA on Chandrila for several years but was ultimately fired because a glitch due to lack of maintenance led him to assault a homeowner for not retrieving their garbage bins by the appointed time.
Things continued downhill for KC130 as his deferred maintenance caught caused him to be unable to function to full capacity reducing him to itinerant and exploitive employment for slavers, smugglers and spice traders who paid him just enough credits to purchase power slugs to keep him charged. He was beginning to welcome the memory outages and power lapses as he was losing hope from not being able to fulfill his prime function when, acting as muscle and bag-man for a death stick dealer at a shady Bar in Maridun, the place was raided by the local police and he was arrested for 'Nonpermitted Droid Activities' with charges of 'Breach of the Peace' when he resisted requiring four Mandalorian Constables to take him into custody.
This was when he met Dral-Kar'ta who was the Police Captain in charge and who was impressed by the ability demonstrated by KC130. Realizing that the droid had fallen on hard times and that his erratic behavior was due to maintenance issues and the need for capable personnel he offered a deal to waive the two-year sentience and to repair and reprogram K-C130 if he would agree to join the Maridun Constabulary as a cadet. Attracted by the ethos of discipline and order professed by Mandalorian culture he agreed and was refurbished into Ta2P0, personal assistant and bodyguard for Dral-Kar'ta with the capabilities and statistics noted above and for the past five years has been serving beside Dral-Kar'ta. Ta2p0, or Tappo as he is now called called, retains his previous memories on a backup drive but his prime directive has been altered and programming has been added to correspond with Mandalorian values and his law enforcement duties.
For the past five years Dral and Tap have worked together and have developed a close relationship. Tappo is devoted to his new master as he is the only human that has ever shown him kindness but his dry sarcasm and blunt demeanor can sometimes annoy Dral as Tappo's way of showing his fondness is to offer to assist Dral in his tasks citing his superior droid capabilities. As Tappo is no longer programed to oppress and intimidate civilians he seems to take satisfaction from annoying Dral. Tappo still hads difficulty recognizing humor and idioms. Once when Dral, pouring a mug of Caf, stated that he needed a 'pick-me-up,' Tappo immediately lifted Dral off the ground amusing the entire squad aside from the Captain. Dral-Kar'ta finds these kinds of behavior vexing but also somewhat endearing as he recognized it is Tap's way of socializing. To put Tappo in check all Dral has to do is threaten to reverse the polarity of Tap's charging station and Tappo will fall into line.
