  • Production: Mass-Produced
  • Material: Durasteel, Tibanna ( Liquid fuel Canister), droid components, magnetized legs
TECHNICAL INFORMATION
  • Classification: Fourth Degree Droid
  • Weight: Light
  • Height: Extremely Small
  • Movement: Octopedal magnetic legs
  • Armaments: Singular Ejection Port for Tibanna Gas, Two ignition arms forward facing
  • Misc. Equipment: Very limited heat sensor and remote operating system with a singular fish eye camera.
  • Resistances: None
  • Energy (And other Blaster type weapons): None
  • Kinetic: None

  • Other: Situational, wide range emp or ion strikes such as grenades explosions may not affect them if solid material is between the explosion and droid. Direct fire of either type will disable/destroy the droid.
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Small Size.
  • Fast.
  • Looks like a large spider if painted.
  • Relatively Cheap to make.
STRENGTHS
  • Small Size- Due to being able to fit one in the palm of the hand, the Jitterbug is a hard to spot droid in certain situations or areas.
  • Combustible - It carries a small payload of combustible gas as its main armament, and in extreme situations can simply implode itself by leaping from high places. If mostly by accident.
  • Nasty Surprise - The flame that is uses to disrupt/destroy circuit boards and other tech comes in three forms. A large burst of fire, as pictured above which lasts on average 3 seconds. A concentrated plasma stream using small adjustments to the fuel port which lasts roughly 6 seconds, and sporadic concentrated plasma burst still equaling a total of 6 seconds.
  • Metal Surfaces - The magnetized legs of durasteel are better able to cling onto metal surfaces, ferrous metals specifically. If it moves carefully, it can even cling to the ceilings in ideal circumstances. Read carefully as in, painfully slow.
WEAKNESSES
  • Small Size -These little droids can easily be stepped on, and crushed under foot. However, if one should do this, you have the possibility of igniting the tiny gas canister of the droid underfoot.
  • No Armor -This droid has negligible amounts of armor, as the construction frame and light plating are all the more armor this droid has.
  • Combustible - It carries a small payload of combustible gas as its main armament, and in unlucky situations can be destroy by simply kicking it against the wall.
  • Flash in the Pan - Once the fuel cell is empty, it's little more than a possible jump fright for the unsuspecting.
  • Tickity Tack What the Heck is That!? - Anything other than smooth or metal surfaces causes the droid to suffer in speed, and possibly sound like a demented tap dance if not yet spotted as the actuators try to compensate for the lack of traction.
  • Not Tremendously Intelligent... - The device in question is cheap, made quickly in most cases, and meant to be deployed near the object of desired destruction. It has a small onboard targeting system that is coded to seek out non-organic heat sources. Such as those of a mother board or cooling unit.
  • Or Easy to Guide - As for the fisheye camera for manually guiding the little beast. It is a singular, small, and forward facing lens. It cannot offer a 360 view, or alternate lenses other than basic, and thermal vision.
  • Specialized - While one could perhaps give someone a nasty surprise if attempting to psyche-out an enemy, this little droid has non-existent combat capabilities.
DESCRIPTION
The Jitterbug is a small package designed to annoy anyone with a high heat signature piece of equipment, or perform pre-programmed sneaky sabotage operations. The simplest construction of a droid possible, the Jitterbug is meant to be deployed when no one is looking. It has a bare minimum operating system underneath an ultra-thin skull of durasteel meant only to keep light splashes of water or other materials away from the fuel injection port. The idea being to deploy the little bugger inside communication stations, shield generators, or other high heat devices and let the Jitterbug roast the control panels.

In areas with metal construction, such as ships or military installations, the Jitterbug can make use of its magnetized legs to carefully climb any metal surface. In situations of non-ferrous material constructions, the Jitterbug has to rely on being unseen or running with another Jitterbug as an accomplice to sneak into delicate operating systems.

The uses for such a device are obvious, being the disruption of communications or operations panels of varying equipment.

The possible abuse of this is unleashing a horde of the blighted things and all of them being successful in remaining unseen to their objective. Which would be unlikely as the metal legs on metal floors if racing at full speed without a concern to stealth would be a dead giveaway. The word of warning for carrying a large amount of them in one setting is that they are highly combustible, and even jostling them and having a leg of one puncture a canister of another can set the whole lot of them off in one explosion.

*For carrying the little droid, it lies flat in a container using generous amounts of foam to keep the liquid container from coming into contact with anything that could potentially detonate it. A larger backpack style container could be made, but who wants to keep that much potential explosive ordinance on their back? When transporting them, the provided case with foam is advised, and the case itself is big enough to be called into question, as it is comparable to a PDA Case.
