Description:

Going back in time. During the times before the Great Darkness, the original T-65BR featured an advanced, high-gain, long-range sensor package with high-speed hypertransceivers in place of the standard X-wing's proton torpedo launchers. The on-board R-series astromech droid coordinated the sensors to provide maximum efficiency, as a human pilot would be able to communicate or comprehend the information at the prerequisite speed of assimilation. It was also equipped with a HoloNet communicator that enabled it to relay its findings instantaneously to allied command centers. Notably, a T-65BR lacked weaponry other than its laser cannons, as the space and energy was used for its sensor package.

This specific M2LRR design is a retrofit of the old T-70 blueprint. Now equipped with modern electronics, a 360' swivel turret, a hidden belly cannon, and powerful up-to-date sensor technologies. Pilot's supplies and consumables could be increased up to a measure of two weeks to accommodate for longer journeys. Mostly due to repetitive travel and activity during subspace flight.

The cockpit also features a unique dual-stick setup to accommodate for both flying and shooting using only one pilot. The astromech droid may also be given targeting command of the weapon systems via the pilot's computer interface terminal.

The T-70/r received her colloquial nickname "El Cid" from her test pilots. Citing playfully in their test logs that you had to be truly crazy to fly her.
