Tålamod Radetta Shapochka was born on Empress Teta, into a pedigreed military family. Scores of her parents’ ancestors had served at war with the Republic, Galactic Empire, and even the Rebel Alliance, establishing a tradition of service, sacrifice, and prestige. She was destined to follow in the paths of her family.
Innumerable obstacles had to be faced before her destiny could be realized, however. As an infant, little Tålamod was diagnosed with a form of CIP, an insensitivity to deep pain. Vision disorders soon after came to light--including colorblindness--, revealing the risks of Human-Miralukan reproduction. As she progressed into her teens, massive headaches and emotional stress became prevalent, and she never quite developed a full range of emotional cognition.
Still, onward she pushed. She was going to make her father proud. She enrolled in the Republic Naval Academy and graduated with honors, though most did not take her seriously. It was a long, hard fight to prove herself, spending seven years as a midshipman before her strategic talents were finally discovered. Three years later, she had launched through the ranks to Lieutenant Commander, one step away from being charged with command of her own bridge. She serves honorably and with great commitment, but she may be hard-pressed to earn the respect of her superiors, considering the still-prevalent symptoms of her condition.
Overall, she sought the approval of those above her and the accolades of her father and mother--her father and mother who were killed in the Sith attack on her place of birth as she watched from afar. Embittered, her goal is to restore her homeworld of Empress Teta to better days and avenge her parents. Tålamod hopes to eradicate the Sith, even if she has to burn an entire world to do so.
