STRENGTHS
Empath: As a Zeltron, Syrfana has a natural ability to feel, sense, and influence the emotions of others.
Jedi: She has been trained and graduated to the level of a novice Jedi Knight. She has taken the path of the Jedi consular, using her skills in the Force and natural empathic powers to be a healer. She also is competent in lightsaber combat, seeming to favor a blend of Soresu and Niman.
Pheromones: Though sparingly, she also has the ability to secrete pheromones that can make those susceptible to feel more relaxed and euphoric.
WEAKNESSES
Empathy's Shadow: Her empathic powers are double-edged sword. She can be influenced by the emotions of others as much as she can influence them. Places or people of strong negative emotion can cause her physical detriment, such as paralysis or physical illness.
Iconoclast: She knows what people she comes from and how the rest of the galaxy views them. Hedonistic, masters of all sorts of pleasures. But she feels there are harmful stereotypes within that view. She takes great offense to anyone that tries to treat her as just another pink skinned floozy from Zeltros.
Emotional Battle: While there are many stereotypes, there is some truth to it all. Syrfana's people feel more passionately than most others. As a Jedi, she often struggles with the balance between that natural Zeltron passion and the stoicism of her Order. Not to mention the dangers such emotions could lead to with the Dark Side.
HISTORY
Syrfana Kolven was born on Lanupa, raised in the service corridors of the Skull Ridge Mountain resort, where her Zeltron parents worked as attendants. Growing up around constant crowds, luxury, and volatile guests, Syrfana learned early that emotions could flood a space like weather—overwhelming, contagious, and hard to escape. She became quiet and watchful by necessity, developing a calm presence long before she understood why.
Her parents eventually befriended a visiting Pantoran Jedi, Luthre Markeen, who was on Lanupa under the guise of travel while investigating rumors tied to Skull Ridge. When pirates launched a targeted raid on Lanupa in search of whatever secrets might be hidden within the mountain, the resort’s peace shattered into panic. With no time and no safe options, Syrfana’s parents made a desperate choice: they entrusted their little girl to Luthre, believing he was the only person who could get her off-world and keep her from being used or killed.
Luthre raised and trained Syrfana in the Force, teaching her that her greatest strength wasn’t charm, but discipline and ethical restraint—the ability to remain steady without influencing others unfairly. In time, Luthre aligned himself with the Shirayan Jedi, and Syrfana followed that path of practical, field-forged training. As the Shirayan tradition evolved into the Naboo-led High Republic Jedi, Syrfana’s identity solidified: a Jedi shaped by Lanupa’s contradictions, carrying the unanswered question of Skull Ridge—and the memory of the night she was given away to survive.
