Approved Tech Synthetic Crystal Lightsabers

Not open for further replies.
Darth Strelok
  • Intent: Create standard use semi unique lightsabers for the open market and as loot for quests/dungeons, and also because our fine members should not have to hunt Wookieepedia quite so much if they don't want to
  • Image Source: N/A (Impossible to provide image as there are so many examples)
  • Canon Link: N/A
  • Permissions: N/A
  • Primary Source: Lightsaber
  • Manufacturer: Various
  • Affiliation: Various
  • Market Status: Closed-Market
  • Model: N/A
  • Modularity: Yes (Lens, Emitter, Power Cell, Aesthetics)
  • Production: Semi Unique
  • Material: Durasteel, Synthetic Lightsaber Crystal, lightsaber components
  • Classification: Lightsaber
  • Size: Average
  • Weight: Light
  • Synthetic crystals can come in many in colors (But are often typically red), and attune to the Force User that creates them often more fully than natural crystals
  • Slightly increased cutting power, and a very rare chance to break Lightsabers with natural Crystals
  • Can cut through most materials
  • Can Deflect Blaster Bolts
  • Rip and Tear: Even the simplest Lightsaber made for genuine field use can cut through almost anything, save rare or Alchemized Materials, and of course other Lightsabers. They are omni directional, and nearly weightless save for the powerful gyroscopic effect when active that takes skill to learn how to work with. Synthetic powered Lightsaber blades are slightly more powerful than standard, and have a very rare chance to "break" Lightsaber blades with natural Crystals in them
  • Deflector: Lightsaber Energy Blades are infamous for the ability to deflect blaster bolts, and reflect them
  • Fight anywhere: Both Ancient and modern examples can function in space.
  • Attunement: These Crystals are often created by taking raw elements and meditating on them while they are being altered by a geological compressor or Molecular Furnace for a period of 24 hours until fully grown, already deeply attuned to their creator. Attuned crystals may become a much more potent tool for meditation than typical Lightsabers , and responds much more easily to the user as time moves on. It may also become much easier to sense and manipulate with the Force, Specifically Telekinesis, Or it May Channel or grind Force Lightning easier
  • Variety: Basic Synth Crystal Lightsabers come in 3 commonly encountered forms:
Standard Blade
Lightsaber Shoto
Long Handle Lightsaber

  • Rep Maker: Even Millennia after it's introduction, Lightsabers and their exotic variants are still near universally respected and feared. How you use it is up to you, but if you do and let the Galaxy see it, you'll have a high chance of getting a reputation for better or worse. Jedi may sometimes be discouraged from creating Lightsabers with Synthetic Crystals given their most common users
  • PC--Friendly: The sub has been made specifically Semi Unique OOC so that players can have as nice and neat a sub as possible that allows them to get into Force User Role Play so they don't have to spend hours hunting Wookieepedia and just use a Synth Crystal Lightsaber and pass this sub out as reward loot for stories and quests or as a starting weapon for new Force Characters
  • Cortosis: Bog Standard Synth Lightsabers and their variants typically cannot or otherwise have great difficulty cutting through anything with Cortosis. Most Synth Lightsabers will also shut down if exposed to pure Cortosis and must be reset to be reactivated
  • Sonics: Sonic Projectiles typically bend around ordinary Synth Lightsaber Blades
  • Slugthrowers: Solid ammo typically melts when hitting lightsaber blades, potentially causing splash damage and making bullets extremely difficult to defend against
  • Paddle Beams: Paddle Beams typically bend around these Lightsaber Blades
  • Force Voids: Most Synth Lightsabers will typically shut off in Force Voids
  • Breakage Chance: Synthetic Lightsaber Blades are slightly slower to swing due to generating much more power than normal. They generate so much power, there is an incredibly rare chance the blades could just burn out or fail of their own accord, needing to be repaired or reset or both. This risk becomes more pronounced if the crystals were forged by a novice
  • Modifications may affect performance: Altering these "common" Synth Lightsabers Power Cell, Lens, and Emitter may make them excellent for some situations but weaker in others, and these weaknesses and strengths grow more or less pronounced given the variant of Lightsaber one is using. The Variants of each Lightsaber itself have a wide variety of pros and cons each if found IC

Lightsabers have been in use for thousands of years by various Force Orders and come in many forms. The Lightsabers using Synthetic Crystals are among the most common varieties after Kyber Crystal Lightsabers, favored by Dark Force Users or the occasional Jedi Duelist for slightly increased cutting power, or Jedi who needed an emergency Lightsaber. Often found on a Force User's person, they are often tied to that individuals very being, and can be located in ancient tombs, vaults, or taken off the slain bodies of their owners. Typically Red but can come in any color

Often simplistic in design when first constructed (Both Ancient and modern examples exhibit this trait.), they can be slowly added to over the years becoming inseparable from their owners. Even thousands of years after their introduction, the simplest Synth Lightsaber still command often slightly more credits than regular Lightsabers on the black market for Crime Lords looking to splurge, and even the most basic bog standard examples are still often the centerpiece of any private collection--and perfectly capable of cutting through nearly anything or anyone, even without Enhancements. Lightsaber blades whose Synth Crystals produce a blade other than Red often command even more credits than typical

The perfect Sub for Player Characters who want to stock a dungeon with loot, nab from a fallen npc, or the sub they use when taking their own character into battle, or as the base for a sub all their own.
