- Mirroring the effects of Clouzon-36, it is notably more potent, and relatively very small amounts of the gas can last as long and produce as much or more hyperspace-capable fuel as much larger amounts, by a ratio of roughly 1:100,000. Thus, one single canister possesses the same qualities potency as an entire standard-sized shipment of the naturally-occurring variant, and is just as stable and durable as the natural kind.

Naturally-occurring, Clouzon-36 is usually collected in clouds, floating freely in space, or else mined from pockets deep inside planets and asteroids. A powerful and important gas, used in many areas from hyperdrives to ship fuels, the traditional means of harvesting this substance are both time-consuming and expensive. Visanj theorized a cheaper alternative could be synthesized and with a few tweaks, might even be made to be superior to the natural type.
She was right. Synthetic Clouzon-36 is notably more powerful, enhancing performance and improving efficiency in addition to far outlasting the natural variant, enabling ships using it to consume (and thus, need to carry) less of this material and perform as well, if not better, anyway. However, it retains the potential for radiation poisoning and non-breathability for some species, making it require definite safety protocols and secure storage during handling by those species or else placing them in serious danger of sickness and death. Furthermore, you can’t put something this powerful into weapons systems, meaning that it’s entirely unsuited for combat applications. Synthetic Clouzon-35 is a fuel source, nothing more, and certainly nothing less.
