Sword Herald Wireless Piloting Teacher

  • Intent: To create a special teaching augmentation that can be installed in nearly any vehicle
  • Canon Link: N/A
  • Permissions: N/A
  • Primary Source: Synoptic Teacher , Model ES 23,
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
  • Manufacturer: Sword Herald Special Purpose Enterprises
  • Affiliation: Sword Herald Special Purpose Enterprises
  • Market Status: Closed
  • Model: N/A
  • Modularity: Yes (Can be upscaled or downscaled as necessary)
  • Production: Mass Produced
  • Material: Durasteel, Synoptic Teaching/Wireless Electronics
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Wireless Upgrade to vehicles that wirelessly instructs and improves a pilots use of a given vehicle, even in the middle of an operation--provides maneuvering solutions, estimated strain vehicle frame can take and provides feedback on piloting efficiency and flaws.
  • Tech calms user during combat, preventing them from making mistakes
STRENGTHS
  • Education: Installed into any vehicle, it analyzes it's Engineering specifics via a network of small sensors, and wirelessly transmits that knowledge to a pilots brain as to how to get the most out of piloting it, transmitting recommended maneuvers and speeds and timing while executing those maneuvers during active piloting. Pilots using this after three or four more outings tend to become incredibly proficient around the fourth outing. If installed in starfighters or capital ships, even Rookie Pilots tend to pilot (and fight) like someone far more experienced, making it an easy way to produce experienced fighters without having to constantly put them in regular training sessions to keep up their skill. Functions even during active use
  • Smoothing things over: Technology from the ES 23 calms pilots during use, very heavily reducing the chance a pilot will panic in the heat of the moment and make a mistake
WEAKNESSES
  • Instincts: All the feedback in the world cannot correct inherent flaws in a pilots reasoning. Alternatively, the machine is not always right, and pilots still must exercise their own judgement when piloting and not rely on even this powerful device to do all the work
  • Warm Up: Using it does not grant instant proficiency. Safety measures in the device transmit information slowly to prevent Brain Damage
  • Ion: Taking enough Ion damage knocks it out temporarily for a few minutes
  • Disablement Penalty: Sudden cutoff from the feedback has a chance of Heavily disorienting a pilot during use, with potentially fatal results
DESCRIPTION

The Piloting Teacher--screw those fancy academies, you need to become an expert NOW!

A device fresh from the prototyping phase, the Wireless Piloting Teacher can produce a level of expertise in a few short trips what would take standard methods of instruction years to inculcate in pilots. Capable of being installed in anything from star fighters to SSD grade vessels. Adapted from Ancient tech developed by an older company and modernized for Civilian and military use, which in House Io is a line that is incredibly blurry.
