Swilling Adrenaline [Kuryr]

[member="Kuryr"]

Her bare feet sunk into the moist earth below her. Onikka's eyes moved slowly over the area, her enhanced senses were on high alert. There was a sound that came from behind her, quickly she turned but there was nothing. The ground was a very dangerous place to be. Without hesitating she latched onto the nearest tree and began her assent upwards. Rough bark felt like sandpaper on her skin but luckily for her she had thick pad-like callouses on both her hands and feet. Trees on this moon were undoubtedly a reliable way to escape from danger. Onikka walked along the branches that could support her weight. She did not have to cling on to them, the tail she owned and her natural heightened balance was enough to keep her up right.

The feline kept her ears open and her eyes peeled for any sign of danger. For her she'd have to go high into the canopy to be attacked by a Crasna. No one was really safe on the moon. If it wasn't the beasts on the ground there was other sentients as herself looking for a good hunt. Onikka was on her way to the only "bathing" area there was on Dxun. Or at least the only water that hasn't been purged with unfavorable conditions. The closer and closer the got the louder the water sounded. A waterfall, one with the purest water she's ever seen.

Not only this is where she bathes but the flowing water tastes great. Even though it was dangerous to be exposed as she was, she needed it. Onikka swung herself to a lower branch, she then gave the area one last look to make sure it was clear. Then she gently dropped to the ground. The human-like girl placed her feet on the soaked moss around the pool of water. Onikka then shifted and slunk straight into the water. The constant flow of the waterfall behind her drowned out the music of peaceful nature. The feline drenched her body in the cool water. This and rain was the only thing that actually keep her from having a revolting stench.

Even that got to the wild woman at times. Her large paws peddled in the clear, blue water. Onikka's thick fur hung heavily on her body though it was hard work to even get around with her size in the water she had to admit it was quite fun, she was an excellent swimmer. For a moment she completely submerged herself into the waters, her eyes open, it was not very deep but she had quite a lot of room to move around it. There was one tree that had found it's roots clinging onto life in the pool. A few meters and she was inspecting the tree.

Before she could go any further she'd have to come up for air. Shifting she used her smaller near-human body to get her up there quicker. As she broke the surface Onikka smoothed her black hair from her face, taking in the sweet oxygen before she went further to explore her curiosity.

Dxun held an honorable spot in Kuryr's heart. It was the sight of the death of Mandalore the Indomitable, one of the last Taung to ever hold the title of Mandalore. Cut off from his troops and surrounded by the moon's many beats he had fought bravely, but ultimately succumbed to the sheer amount of savage beasts. He watched as his pirates ransacked another small settlement. It was unusual for the Blood Pact to ever come this far into the core, and rarer even to get this close to the Republic capital, but this was Dxun, and it was special for Kuryr in a way that no other planet did. He revered the mandalorians of old, the great warriors that had crushed empires and destroyed everything in their path. The fought against the greatest foes and knew no mercy. The mandalorians of today were a hollow shell of the glory they had once been. Beaten and shamed into becoming farmers and politicians, they were little better than the Republic. He lived the life of a mandalorian of old. He took what he wanted, when he wanted it. Found the greatest foes to fight and honored his ancestors by teaching his crew the importance of the old ways.

The crew cared less for the old ways than he would have liked, only his vanguard held any kind of standards. They were his elite, given the best of everything. It was those few that seemed to always survive, regardless of the fight, his chosen few that garnered the approval of the ancestors. They took the wars of old to new worlds and continued the tradition of pillage and plunder.

He watched as the last of the prisoners was loaded onto the shuttle. They would be taken back to his ship in low orbit, taken back to Korriban or some other distant world to be sold off into a life of slavery. It they were lucky they would find a place in a house somewhere, cooking and cleaning. If not they would find work in a mine or pleasure house. Dekka, the old deformed Gungan engineer moved towards him and nodded, " Kuryr. Wee'sa almost full of slaves in da hold. Wee'sa gonna need to be leaving soon. Lots of boom boonta good stuff from this raid. Yoo'sa gonna be pleased."

To Kuryr it felt like they had just landed, and had not been here for almost a full standard day raiding small villages. He could feel the approval from the planet itself, Mandalore the Indomitable was proud of him for returning to this place of honor and bringing with him the spirit of the old ways. " Yery well, old friend. Gather up the men and prepare to leave. I'll be along shortly, I would like to spend some time communing with the ancestors." He held his helmet in his hand and he took a deep breath in. He could still feel the faint traces of darkness that permeated the world, lingering traces of dark lords, distant battles. This was a place he could see himself conquering, reclaiming the world for the true mandalorians .

He motioned for two of the pirates closest to him to stay near by. He knew the dangers of this planet well enough, He had too much honor left to gain to be killed alone by a pack of savage beasts. Thank you Mandalore for allowing me to walk your path, and learn from your mistakes.

Taking in one last breath of air she was stopped short by the sound of movement behind her. Turning gently in the water she looked around but saw nothing. This was the second time she's heard something following her but no one was to be seen. Instead of fleeing she went towards the solid ground. Gently holding herself up, Onikka then saw what had been following her this whole time. Her human-like body paled in comparison to the pair. Two Maalrass began to approach her, slinking from the shadows in the jungle, no longer cloaked by the force. She should have sensed them. The pair bared their deformed fangs in her direction and invited a fight. One seemed to be much, much larger than the other Maalrass. Without hesitating she shifted, the water dripping from her hanging fur. The flesh around her muzzle lifted and a gentle rumbling emanated from her throat. This was a warning.

Quickly the larger Maalrass leaped towards her, talons unsheathed, jaw unhinged and ready for attack. Onikka managed to lift her body up, standing on her back feet. It latched onto her but she was quick to fall back. Her back tingled with a soreness she knew she'd have tomorrow but then her back paws came up and raked through the air until they found the soft, exposed underbelly of the creature. While it stretched it's neck to grab her flesh it only could reach tuffs of fur but even pulling that out hurt quite a bit. It gave a screech as she finally broke the skin and began to claw into it's stomach. The gently stream of blood poured out onto her back legs, practically drenching the lower half of her body. Patches of her fur were strewn over the green mossy ground. Heaving the twitching body off of her she practically forgot about the second beast.

It clearly had no idea what it was doing. Onikka watched as the thing bounced around her, yipping and barking. For a second it glanced over at it's fallen member. She then sprung forward and grabbed it between her jaws. For a good minute they wrestled around, appearing to be a ball of talons and teeth. Onikka ended it, pinning it down she had it between her teeth, her two larger ones cutting straight through. Like the other one it's nerves twitched but she resulted victorious. At least she earned a meal in the process. While she still clung onto the smaller Maalrass, her nostrils flared as she caught her breath. Even though the fight didn't last long it was still a strenuous task. She could only hope there wasn't any more hidden in the jungle.

Letting go of the carcass she then sat down for a minute. Her chest heaved but it only took her a split second to remember that if she didn't eat what she could now that there may not be a meal for the a night and if she was having bad luck then tomorrow her stomach would remain empty. Taking on the smaller one first she managed to break the thick skin once more and then gorge herself on the soft meat. Second she shifted into her near-human form to reach a small part in it's body. Taking a bite into it she forgot how good it tasted to eat Maalrass. Gently she took her hand and wiped the blood that dripped from her mouth. Everything that happened to her feline form would transfer over to her human-like girl. Which meant half of her body was practically still soaking from water but now a dark blood.

Kuryr enjoyed walking through the jungle, he knew there were dangers involved in the act, but unlike his predecessors he had brought troops with him. He listened to the sounds of the jungle around him, even though there was nothing in sight he could hear the many beasts moving in the jungle around him. He heard what appeared to be a vicious fight happening nearby and that thought of seeing the beats of this moon intrigued him. He pulled out his large slugthrower and moved forward carefully, just because he wanted to see the beasts didn't mean he intended on being food for them. He nodded to the two men by his side and they fanned out, creating a small area of overlap that they could use to cover each other.

As he approached he could see a small pool in the distance, and there were bodies of things he didn't know, it was glorious to see, he loved to see a good fight, he wondered if this hunter would remain in the area so that he may get a glimpse of it. He stopped by one of the corpses of the four legged beasts and inspected the dead beast. The wounds were definitely claw marks and he matched the width against his hand. Whatever had made those wounds would be more than capable of killing a man. The wounds were deep but the area around the flesh was shredded to the point that he couldn't easily tell just how thick or long the claws that killed the creature were.

Movement caught his eye and he tilted his head, he thought he saw a woman wandering through the trees, but he couldn't be sure that what he saw was real. He motioned for his men to move forward and he slowly advanced further into the jungle, he knew the dangers of tracking anything in a place like this, but he could feel his ancestors calling to him, guiding him through the trees, whatever it was that was out there, they wanted him to find it. He felt it just there, Mandalore the Indomitable was with him on this day, whatever it was that was out there was meant to be found, he could feel it. He would find it, and he would take it as was his right as a Mandalorian.

She dug her hand into the carcass. Once more pulling out a fleshy part of the body. Onikka could barley come up for air she was eating so fast. Her acute ears picked up what seemed to be movement through the jungle. Without hesitation she backed up into the vegetation. For the moment she used the force cloak and hid herself from the eyes that would wander in between the small parts in leaves. As far as she could see there was three sentients; the larger one looked as though he belonged with the other armored warriors she'd have run-ins with before (they were quite delicious on an empty stomach), the other two were dispersing from him. They seemed to be taking part in a tactic that reminded her much of a pack of Maalrass who locked in on their prey. Onikka was no prey creature. Releasing the tension of the cloak masking her appearance she kept her wits about her. Standing on her toes she moved in silence through the trees.

They had sparked her interest. Though around here if one was to follow their curiosity it would be the death of them. While she fell out of view the woman dug her feet into the thick bark of a tree and hoisted herself up into the lower branches. Luckily for her Dxun's jungle trees were filled with layers of leaves. Her breathing was controlled and her balance focused. The extremely long tail that whipped behind her, kept herself up and at times where she felt as though she'd fall it would wrap around the thinner branches. Gently her head hung looking down on the sentients. Onikka leaned forward, her light grey eyes illuminated within the shadows. Her irises were a blessing and a curse.

The group continued to keep a rather solid formation. She begun to think if there was a chance she'd have to take them out. Going for the weakest link. A male on the right seemed to move not very quickly but his armor appeared thicker. Although it's nothing her claws and teeth couldn't tear into. The one furthest from her was quicker on their feet, her eyes searched for a weakness she could expose. The man's left foot was being slightly drug behind him, a limp. It was the perfect take down if she could get a hold of that leg. She found herself staring at the head of the pack. So far there was no imperfections that she could target. He moved with confidence, strength and power. He'd be quite the fight.

Onikka lifted up her hand a held it up only for a few seconds before a he surrounding leaves came together and completely hid her body. She wasn't terribly exposed before but she should have commanded the area to work in her favor before.

The movement that drew his attention was gone, but he could feel in his gut, and through the force that danger was close. His men were spread out a bit, but still close enough to support each other and him if something should appear. The jungle was thick, it was hard to see more than a few meters in beyond where he stood clearly and that worried him. Jungle predators were adapt as stealth and speed attacks, springing out at a moments notice and killing before their target even knew they were there. He reached down to his belt and pulled the small cylindrical handle free. He didn't touch either of the two activation studs on it, for fear of the noise masking the ambient sounds of the jungle around him.

He grinned as he took one careful step forward, this was what he craves, hunter stalking hunter. He didn't know what dangerous thing lurked in the foliage waiting for him. And it didn't know what surprises he had in the way of weapons and armor. Each step was measured and carefully placed as he moved, there was no hurry, a good hunt was about patience and skill. One who rushes head first into a situation often times finds themselves without a head. He could feel his pulse pounding through his body, the air itself seemed alive with the prospect of blood spilled. These were the times he lived for, stalking a foe worthy of his attention, the danger as real for him as it was for his foe.

He motioned for the older man, Henko was his name, to move forward a bit. He was hoping that the added presence of his men would give him an advantage that s lolo hunter didn't have. He could attack from many directions at once and overwhelm his foe's ability to choose a target. He watched as the man moved forward a few meters ahead, the younger pirate to his left held his weapon at the ready, all three were scanning the forest for any movement. Kuryr's eyes would occasionally dart towards the large tree limbs above them, but he wasn't sure of the likelihood of a worthy foe dropping from the trees at them. He was sure that he had seen a woman at some point, which meant she was on the jungle floor, just like they were.

He reached out with the force for a moment, trying to find the location of his foe and he was surprised at the sheer amount of living things in the general area. Many of them were smaller and immediately discounted, but there were several large signatures that could very well be his foe. The next few moments could very well decide who lived and who died. If she was a hunter as he thought she was, then they would meet and the struggle could very well determine if he had learned from the past. He was eager to see the outcome, his entire body tingled with anticipation. It was better than any war he had been in, better than sex. It was the hunt, and few beings ever survived to tell the tales of a successful hunt when the prey was as worthy a hunter as you were.

It was rare the predator found herself slightly over whelmed by the amount of weapons and bodies below her. Even though they had good coverage she was born in the jungle. For some this was her territory but the head seemed know what he was doing. She hung from the branches, no longer walking along them she used her long arms to hoist herself from tree to tree. Luckily for her she was not a short woman, her long legs provided agility and also helped her to run faster. Onikka could barely see through the jungle but she could hear them very clearly, it was like they were right next to her. She knew what she had to do in order to successfully take the members of the pack one by one. Moving a little quicker she got a head of them and then instead of moving forward she traveled sideways.

In a matter of seconds she was right above their heads. Holding her breath she made sure they would not even hear her breathing until she was were she wanted to be. Onikka had gradually moved towards the quicker man. She'd have to leap right on top of him in order to make a quick kill, or at least an attempt. Because of his limp he was a little behind but not by much. Though the space between the bodies and the jungle's foliage it was enough. Quickly the feline found herself a little a head of him, perched on the lowest branch, so low that she could be seen with his eyes if her spots did not conceal her. She moved like a flash of light. Shifting into her beastly form Onikka landed right on top of him. Claws out and jaw open. If the pressure of the large mass of the creature didn't kill him then her 6 inch claws would certainly have her back up.

Of course he came quite the scream but by then her claws had already sunk into his body, like five knives entering the body. The claw on the back of the foot aided her and insured he bleed out at the least. If that didn't kill him right away then he'd certainly bleed out, her weapons of killing had went straight through his armor like it was nothing. Onikka then had to be quick if she wanted to get away unscathed. First she broke out into a brisk run. The pads on her large feet carried her speedily and quietly.

With retracted claws she left no prints against the moist earth below her. Then once she was confident there was space between them she shifted into her human form and begun to scale a large tree. Onikka moved very quickly up the tree. For half of her life she was always in the canopy escaping from the dangers below. Blood from the man and from her earlier kill now stained her clothing. The lower half of her body, her pants, was completely drenched in the crimson color but now her hands found themselves dripping. For a second she stopped, licking the man's blood from her hands as not to leave a trace of her presence. To her his blood tasted the same as any other sentinet's which wasn't bad but it wasn't half bad.

He could feel the presence of the other hunter, it hummed in his blood, he just couldn't see it. It was rare for him to hunt something in the jungle to begin with, but to hunt something that was hunting him as well, that just made the kill much more enjoyable. Creeping forward the three beings began to move towards the original spot that Kuryr had seen the girl, or at least what he thought was a girl. He was beginning to wonder exactly what it was that he saw anymore. Was he just tired from a day of raiding, or was the jungle playing tricks on him. He didn't think either of those things were the case, but the longer this game was played out the more time his mind had to wander, and that was a dangerous thing on a hunt. One second was all it took to end up dead and he would not become another cautionary tale about the dangers of the jungles of Dxun.

He caught movement out of the corner of his eyes and watched as the hunter dropped from the canopy and mauled the man to his left. The attack happened quicker than he had anticipated and it left him with a vague shape of his foe. It was definitely a cat of some kind. It had four legs and a tail, of that he was certain. And now he knew it was the kind of animal to pounce on it's prey. He held up his hand to stop the surviving pirate. He nodded for the man to move back the way they had come.

If it was going to pounce on them, he would make sure that he picked the area it would jump from. they moved back as he scanned the low hanging branches for any sign of the other predator. With a tap of the first toggle, a think spool of whore unraveled itself from the cylinder in his hand. He tapped the second and electricity sparked across the thin metallic cord that was now hanging down and brushing the leaves of the ground, cracking against the water droplets on the ground. The beast had shown its weapons, that it could kill with a single strike. He would show it that he had weapons that were much worse than death.

The game had changed no longer were they just stalking each other, he was trying to lure it into an open spot where the advantage would be his, where the trees wouldn't work for the beast. where the lack of trees would take away one of it's main advantages and allow him to get a shot off with his large pistol. The corrosive acid that filed each round would ensure that even a glancing blow would be enough to stop the creature long enough to kill it. It's hide would be ruined, but he didn't care about that, he wanted the thing dead. He would not be stalked like simple prey and toyed with.

Onikka would be considered and apex predator. It was almost impossible to get a clear view from her height. They couldn't see her position and she couldn't see theirs. She would have to get lower. Her heart beat was rather quick but in a matter of seconds she got it under control. Slowly but not surely she began to move through the branches. Twisting and turning under every loop. Onikka was no mere beast. She did not move the way she did through the horrid moon without a sentient brain. Everything she was taught and the lessons she learned led up to events such as this so she would come out on top. As she got to a spot where she felt safe Onikka begun to reply on her hyper-developed senses to get where she wanted. She could practically hear their breathing and part of her swore there were a few moments where their heart beats were audible.

The head of the group was now standing with himself. She wondered where the rest had gone. Though the could not have gone far. They did not move very quietly so she would have to find them through that and their body odor was horrendous. Luckily for her she had recently bathed, leaving her with no scent other than blood which was a common thing to smell in a jungle such as this. Onikka took mental notes of the group's head, he was confident but she would be the judge of if he could really put his credits where his mouth is. Of course she wouldn't want to do that if he back up.. not yet at least. Two men remained for her to take out. Onikka knew the jungle like the back of her hand, she knew exactly where they were going and where the captain would be.

Moving in silence she made distance between her and her new competitor. While she was in her human form she found a new way to get their attention other than an ambush from above. The would be expecting it. Getting a few meters in front of them she quickly stuffed her tail into her loose pants. Making sure that if they did get a glimpse of feline form they wouldn't be suspicious of the tail. Once that was situated she plopped herself down in front of them, a few more steps and they would find her. She began to "cry" softly, before she knew it they were standing above her looking down. They spoke in voices she had never heard before. Of course she knew how to speak but some things she simply did not understand. Well, her plan was working so far, they had not attacked yet.

They forced her to explain what she was doing. "I-I was looking for my way back n could not.." She paused and began to sob once more. Grunting they gave in, the blood on her legs would give the notion she was injured in that area. So the picked her up, two men under her arms. Onikka then acted quickly, they would never know what hit them. Well, 1,214 pounds would have hit them. First she shifted and got her mouth around the man on the rights head, shifting the skull to her back teeth to make sure it got the pressure the bones needed. His hands came up and begun to smash his fists into her head, trying to get her loose but there was no use. His mere punches were nothing. Giving as much force and power as she good her jaws were not letting go, his helmet was the first to crack and then his bones followed. While this was happening the younger one almost passed out. But not before he blasted three shoots around the area. One clipping the thick spikes on her back and the rest going off in different directions, burning holes through the leaves.

Her teeth were meant to crush bones and break the boundaries of purse strength. While she finally let go of the man she was holding on to Onikka watched has his nerves twitched, much like her two kills earlier. Turning around she focused on the unconscious young man. Part of her felt bad, the humanity that was left in her kicked and told her to leave him but she just couldn't. Well, at least she wouldn't have to do the killing. Shifting into her human for she used some of her energy and got vines to wrap around his legs, hoisting him up. His face was hidden by a helmet but she raised up and took it off. Curiosity struck her but she was a little disgusted by how quickly the blood rushed to his head from being up side down. Dropping the helmet she rushed back into the tree.

That took care of them and to say they didn't put up a good fright would be a statement. Now all she had left was the leader, this fight she hopped would end quickly.

he heard the death of his men, sensed it in the force and he frowned. He was almost ready to doubt his own ability to fight this beast off, but he was made of the stuff of legends, his bloodline spanned the ages, his ancestors were the beings that had helped shape the galaxy, he would not allow some simple predator on a simple moon distract him from the greatness he was destined to achieve. He took a few more steps back, allowing himself to gain a bit more distance between him and the last area that he had seen the creature.

He flipped his whip a couple of times, he was done waiting for the beast to stalk him, he was ready for the fight. This thing had killed pirates, his pirates, but pirates none the less. This time she was facing a full blooded mandalorian warrior. Had it any higher brain functions it would have known the implications of such decision and it most likely would have fled. He could tell it was still in the area, he could feel the air tingling with the anticipated blood that was going to be spilled. There were very few planets in the galaxy that were free of bloodshed and carnage and he could feel the dark energies of this planet hungering for more. He planned to sate the planets hunger with the killing of this predator. He would mount the great beast's head upon his wall for all to see, so that everyone would know that Kuryr, the Blood Gorger, was the hunter that his ancestors had wanted him to be.

He stepped back another few feet towards the clearing behind him. He would wait for the beast to stalk him there. In a place that it's natural advantage would be gone, where it would have to come out after him and into his world. Where his pistol would be an advantage, and where the beast would have to show itself to attack. He smiled as he closed his eyes, letting the force flow through him. The planet held a dark tint to it, but that didn't bother him, he wasn't the most pious of people and he welcomed the darkness as he would a cool drink on a warm afternoon. Focusing on the moment, reaching out with the force, he began to feel for even the most minute change in the area around him, every living thing came alive with it's force presence and he could vaguely see the area just around him by the force signatures alone. He was prepared, his entire body was taut and focused on one thing, picking out the imposing signature, the violence that stalked him. He would find it, and when he did, he would be the victor, another mountain that he could say he climbed, something that even Mandalore the Indomitable couldn't claim

Without a second glance she slipped out of the area and had begun her path back to the head of the broken pack. Her paws were gently on the ground before she knew it she was a few feet away from the man. She used the force sight to see through the dense jungle. He was visible but barely. Squinting she got a picture of the area, his position, and the weapon he carried with him. There was a faint sound of a material hitting the ground, like many weapons she hadn't seen this one before. Perhaps the tribal people she's come in contact with on the vast moon. Onikka looked around for a way she could swiftly take him out and get on with her life. This would be a face to face confrontation. Two warriors pitted against each other.

Slowly she began to emerge from the vegetation. The feline beast towered over him. Slowly she rose, making herself appear even larger, the fur on her body rose thickly to offer her a size up. The soft flesh that sprouted whiskers lifted up, showing her gums and baring her teeth. Onikka's shoulder bones rotated as she moved forward, slowly inching towards the man. Slightly she turned to the side and started to circle around him but kept a large distance. One way to describe the area was a bald spot on the moon's surface. Otherwise Dxun was always covered in plant life. Large ears flickered and then eventually flatted to the back of her skull while her tail wagged quickly, all tell-all signs of aggression.

Onikka was the darkness under beds and the source of nightmares. The feline was the darkness in the jungle. Examining him closely it reminded her of the tribes people that inhabited the moon. She had only feasted on a few of the sentients that called themselves "Mandalorians". She wondered how this one would taste. Even then she had gained their respect by taking out several Zakkeg in her life time. It seemed like for a second the voices of the jungle had went silent, like they were on the edge of their seats in anticipation of who would make the first move. A glance at her and one could see how she had made it so many years on the demon moon a live. Onikka was the jungle.

Her body reeked of a mixture of creature and sentient blood. While making mental notes of his force it occurred to her that never once had she seen a species of his kind. His ridges were comprised of grey coloration that appeared to battle through many hardships. She could hear his heartbeat now this time, she really could. Her retracted claws slowly emerged from their furry hide away. An low growl emanated from her throat, she was ready for a fight.
