Overdrive Modification

An apt mechanic with skills passed down from his former mentor, Crosten takes to modifying the engine of his ship through modifications of the power systems and startup sequence. This incurs extra cost in term of parts, some of which can get costly if he can’t find more affordable deals through salvage. The adjustments made enables the ship to increase it’s maximum acceleration, at the cost of the integrity and stability of the ship and engines. These modifications tend to bypass limitations intended for structural durability to gain the increase in acceleration. This typically requires costly maintenance and repairs to be performed on the ship after use; should this feature be used again without first making repairs the ship can and likely will be rendered unusable.

Strengths:

• Well armed - with a multitude of weapons, this ship carries a deceptive amount of firepower given it's size
• Aerodynamic; reduced drag in atmospheric environments

Weaknesses:

• Use of overdrive inflicts strain on the ship and engines, ship must be repaired between uses
• Crosten's modifications and re-engineering leave the ship more vulnerable to EMP weapons

Description:
A deal he acquired from a less-than-reputable salesman, Crosten has since spent considerable time, cash, and effort in both restoration and alteration of the ship. A suitable starfighter, Crosten has added additional cargo space and modifications that make the craft more suitable for a smuggler. Given his present lack of a freighter, Crosten is currently using this for what jobs he might find in his efforts to procure enough to purchase one.
