Sviv-Contracting

Harley Fenstermacher

remeber it's not personal, just buiness
Harley was quite surprised that Svivren had remained neutral for so long considering its position in the galaxy, fight between the Galactic Alliance and the Outer Rim Coalition, but then again it seemed that was just par course considering it's hisorty. It was a very good inner to outer rim trading world for company's to set up and have a front row seat to a huge market, well until the First Order came knocking at their door, but that was a while away.

So, why was a political figure head coming all the way out here? well this political figure head also owned a company, and while among the CIS head about the leader purchasing some rather interesting goods from around here. Unfortunately the product in question had sold out rather fast, leaving Harley a little late to the party, but when you can't buy go to the manufacture.

It just so happened the manufacture was also the person who sold the wares, making his job easier, well in tracking them down, weather the CEO would accept Harley's request was another story. Though considering the this [member="Nelson Zayne"] was new to the whole business scheme of things that did not seem like a huge problem, unlike other stuck up company owner who don't bother with anything smaller then them.

Landing one of the planets major platforms in a company market vehicles the male but slightly effeminate looking Echani stepped out, just another day at the office. "Well this place seems charming, now where to meet Mister Zayne, I wonder what type of person he is".

Nelson Zayne was working on new designs for hyperdrives, admiring the circuit's complexity. An intern walked in with a question...

"Um, Mister Zayne...aren't you supposed to be meeting Harley Fenstermacher?"

"What?"

"Remember, the guy you spoke to on the holomessage who wanted to talk to you about a possible business deal?"

"Fark! Where is he?"

"He is at one of the major platforms, here are the coordinates."

Nelson Zayne didn't have the right attire at the moment and had to just wear his regular engineer clothes. He rushed to wash his face and comb his hair. After frantically looking, Nelson found his holopad which had full documents on all the products manufactured by his company. Immediately he called for a shuttle recently acquired and traveled to a platform right next to Harley.

After the shuttle's ramp opened, Nelson came our rushing, close to falling over. He yelled out over to Harley...

"Hey! Um...Hello! I am very sorry for being late today. I hope I haven't been wasting your time."

Nelson stuck out his hand for a handshake and said...

"My name is Nelson Zayne, the owner of Zayne Industries. I hear you are very interested in our Blast Doors, not really a popular interest by others but hey! It's not like they have stuff worth to protect."

Harley patiently waited for the man on the nearby main landing platform, the place reserved for the business mans visit to the planet, trade once again being a very important part of life here. A data pad in hand as the Echani went through the different products sold by [member="Nelson Zayne"], nothing grand like massive capital ship, though that turbo blaster was nice, but those components that his small company had in stock where very useful.

In a few mintues a small sensation rippled through the force, alerting Harley to the new presence, a man in a rather casual outfit, a flat cap and beard, definitely the on work attire, contrasting with Harley's formal suit and tie. Did this mean he cared? not at all, in fact the Echani CEO preferred people like this, easy to talk with, common ground and most of all not boring, "oh no it is okay, gave me time to sort things out", he replied turning to fully face Nelson.

"Harely Fenstermacher, or Lsu, which ever last name is easier for you to pronounce", his hand grasping hold of the engineers, giving a nice firm hand shake, "and blast doors are always a good thing, better to one of your on a standard door way and never use it then have a flimsily plastiod door which gets shot through easily". "Though that is not the only thing I am interested in Mr Zayne, some of your other items have been on my wish list along possible custom orders, if you are so inclined to agree".

Nelson smiled after Harley's reply, he knew this buisness deal will go smoothly, even if he felt slightly embarrassed about his clothing. A small notice beeped on Nelson's comlink, Nelson quickly said to Harley...

"Even though I'm late, it seems my workers are right on time. There is a warehouse very closeby, a 2-minute walk, with all my products in one area ready to be showcased. I wouldn't want you to be creating contracts with us if you haven't experienced them firsthand. So if you would be so kind to follow me, we will be there in a jiffy."

Several armed guards, wearing security uniforms from Zayne Industries, walked with Nelson and Harley. A woman servant also was there holding glasses of Emerald Wine and Tarine Tea, ready if the two Engineers needed refreshments.

Nelson quickly typed to the workers at the warehouse that he will be their soon on his Holopad.

An exposition, that was a good start, "well you do have a point, a picture says a thousand words, a demonstration is basically a full report no, please lead the way, I am eager to see what you have in store mister Zayne". Though he was a little surprised by how professional everyone else was compare to the CEO, heck the woman with the tea was not really something he would have considered, 'mental note see if I can hire some ex slave girls from the Hutt cartels for similar positions'.

"So mister Zayne, how involved are you in you company production, from the get up it seems you yourself are on the assembly line helping make your products or at the very least finely tuning them, if so that is impressive". Though Harley was greatly involved in the design process of HCLI craft and latter testing the nitty and gritty of making something was not really a strong suit of the Echani. Not that he actively avoided it, but more just unskilled in construction.

Nelson was glad to talk about the production process in Zayne Industries, he responded...

"Well, the other researchers and I would start with ideas and have prototypes ready to be discussed. After it is been approved by me or the majority of the researchers, I would make the product from scratch and test it myself. I make sure the design is possible to make and all of its traits are accurate before I send it off to the manufacturing plants for Mass-production. The Long-range Turbolaser took a long time to build, but it was worth it."

Once Nelson and Harley reached the warehouse, workers quickly opened the doors letting them in. The woman with the drinks went into the back to retrieve more drinks. To be truthful, it was a buzz. The workers were all there making sure everything was operational and keeping the technology it in its fine fresh state.

Nelson turned facing Harley and smiled...

"So what would you like to see first?"

Everything was there, from the smallest power generators to the massive Long-Range Turbolaser. In every corner or side of the room were panels filled with information on each tech present. The warehouse itself was immensely large, it was meant to support military vessels and vehicles. Luckily, with a few strings pulled, Nelson was able to rent it out for a cheap price.

"Oh you make your own prototypes, that is interesting, hmmm perhaps that could be something I do myself, then again most of my products are rather large and you know would take quite a long time to make by myself". "In addition for far many are retrofits and inspired designs using current tech and upgrades, not really a from sctach person, well despite some new item we are making but as you can guess I am not around there at the moment to help out". He said in reply as the two reached the show room where the mans array of wares had been put on for display, the place humming with activity, people running around to keep things in top tip shape.

"Well that turbo blaster battery is rather nice, but I was more interested in those blaster doors and small components here my original reasons for coming here, how about we star with that and slowly work our way up hmm". He knew the man also made processors and micro ships of sort to help with an array of different processes.

"Of course! Here is the ZI-H309 Blast Door; equipped with an emergency self-destruct option, Durasteel layers, Duranium plating, and Turadium doors. I wouldn't recommend this door to be protecting key important areas, it is more of a mass-produced door meant to protect general areas and hallways. This blast door is like the base template for future Blast Doors, we can design more powerful ones at any time."

Nelson glanced at a nearby overseer and gave him the thumbs up. Several workers began using blasters to hit the Blast Door, there were marks but the door was entirely intact. Nelson picked up a glass of Emerald Wine and signaled some other workers to bring in another ZI-H309 Blast Door. They finished setting up the new Blast Door in 5 minutes. Nelson then said...

"Look at that! These Blast Doors are the most convenient around, I promise you that. Several decent laborers were able to set that up in only 5 minutes. Well, I don't want to bore you with only a door, let me show you those components you are interested in."

Most of the components and parts were not that large and were easily viewed by Nelson and Harley. The biggest was the ZI-F807 Power Generator and the ZI-F808 Mark II Power Generator. The workers did small practice runs with the components to showcase its traits. Two workers picked up one of the components and showed it to Harley and Nelson explained...

"This is the ZI-X251 Starfighter Turbo Accelerator Motor or STAM for short. Based on the famous SLAM overdrive system but more effective now that I have added some tweaks. This design may actually be my favorite, it took such a long time to complete its prototype. I understand you have Hover vehicles, my company would be more than happy to make a similar version for you if our buisness deal is complete. But understanding how things are going today, that shouldn't be a problem."

Harley Fenstermacher

"Self destruct and locking, yes that could come in handy for hall to hall fighting, anything to slow down the enemy is worth it, either that of quarantine of just general detainment if, yes of use to me, and not just in ships". "As for those new blast doors you speak of, well they do sound interesting, I will have to give a look at them once your company starts full scale production".

The coming test was quite interesting to see, the sound of blaster fire being quite the melody, though the ability of the blast door to stand up to the array of fire was quite impressive, most plastiod doors usually being at the melting stage by now. Harley clapping his hands together at the display, "Well that is quite impressive, and only 5 minutes to reinstall, you have certainly caught my attention there, certainly not boring, but yes lets continue".

The following displays where quite interesting, the generator being an ideal product for possible capital ships, the energy output seemed quite impressive and would work well for many different applications, 'Note, see what the stats on those things are'. Well what ever the case it did not really compare to what he showed next was quite the art work, a turbo Accelerator, and the possibility of a small production contracting license. "Yes I do make hover craft and boosters like this for military Vehicles would work wonders, a private production line of a similar model would be quite the help, what detail did you want to be part of that contract"

"Well my company, in general, would like access to any future technology you create. I hope to make my own modified improved technology and use yours as a base template. If that is fine with you. Also, I would like to know what technology in my company do you want access to, I understand you were interested in several items before you came but I hope you enjoyed more of the other technology now."

Nelson's goal is to try to have as much access as possible, hoping to have as many resources as possible for the future. As this is his first buisness deal, Nelson decided to be very loose in the contract and try to give Harley as many benefits as possible. In the background, workers continued showcasing the technology. Nelson looked at Harley and said...

"Well I will let you continue your thinking for this contract or you can take a further look around. If you are ready I would love to talk about it, we can do it in the office and I'll have the holopad ready."

Harley Fenstermacher

remeber it's not personal, just buiness
"That could work, I do have some standard line of technology being created at the moment, if you wish to add improvements to them I do not see why not, perhaps we could do some joint projects, I have had my eye on a military shield generator for capital ships". "As for what I am looking at manly components for craft and ship, that large turbo laser you and and small arms are not quite in my area of interest yet, that blast door you showed, generators and processors are what I am mainly looking at".

He would need them for the long line of ships that HCLI wanted to make, but their company as not big enough to mass produce all the necessary components, a small trade deal with Zayne industires would work well to help them catch up with big players like Sasori.

"We can talk about contracts now, I have seen a reasonable amount of stuff and I am certain we can help each other greatly, our partnership can start of small and work our way up, would seem odd to have such a free thinking contract straight off the bat". Perhaps in time the industries would merge a little, coming under an Umbrella organization.

A servant escorted Nelson and Harley to a medium-sized room; there were two chairs, a table, two holopads, and a large Holoprojector. Along with several small stacks of papers on the table, a small fridge in the corner of the room was filled with all types of drinks. Nelson said to Harley...

"Please sit, on the holoprojector you can offer any type of contract with full or fewer details, we can always have lawyers or other specialized workers to finish its true intent. There are automatic programs in the Holoprojector's mainframe that helps make sure this deal is completely fair and has no loopholes, like an assistant basically. Just like on the holopads, there is a list of my products with included descriptions. And after we finish the contract, you can just sign it on the holopads."

Nelson watched Harley sit down and look at his holopad. He had only an educated guess of what Harley truly wanted, Nelson waited anxiously for Harley to finish writing the basis of the proposed contract.

Harley sat down, going over the contract draft that he had up, trying to make a deal that would benefit both companies in the long run, "the contract I proposed was a lend lease like agreement and licensing". "Such would involve my company remembering your company for a set amount of your products and have them available solely to my company as to have a constant supply of systems to use". "In return you company would also take a share of the profits made from any sales made on devices that house your products, any questions or suggestions"? It was a rough draft nothing final, but he was unsure if [member="Nelson Zayne"] had much experience dealing with other companies, as it stood both CEO's where new to the trading world.

"Well I believe we talked about this earlier, I added a free access to your company's technology's blueprints in the draft. You can edit it or put a limit on this if you want, it would be crazy if I had access to all of your tech. So based on what you just added, what percentage of the profits do you estimate my industry get?"

Most of the profits from this contract would be geared towards further research programs. Nelson was keen to include the free technology's blueprint access, with it, Zayne Industries won't have to spend such a large budget on certain research projects.

Harley Fenstermacher

"I know, more just making sure we understand each other, would not want to sign a contract that you did not want, as for tech you can have access to my open market goods that everyone can buy, other close market tech I would like kept as is for patent reasons". "Also if you wish my current military craft are open for upgrading if you company has any new tech it wants to sell, and yes the cut, since you have the 'no delivery charge along with me already buying your products 10% would probably do just fine".

Even just 10% was a decent amount, considering how most of her craft were well withing the 10000 price range, unless [member="Nelson Zayne"] wanted a better deal. As it stood Harley wanted both companies to grow, maybe one day they would rival even Sasori.

[member="Harley Fenstermacher"]

"Wow! 10% of the profit is a very generous amount, which I could not say no to. Money and access to your tech, I believe its good enough for me. If you have no more additions to the contract, I think we are pretty much ready. I already have inserted my signature into the contract. After we both sign it, the contract will be sent to lawyers and other legal workers that would fill out the rest of the contact and deal with the boring stuff. The contract would then go into effect 3 days later."

Nelson truly believed they were close to wrapping things up, his wants were already completed. The Holopad flashed a blinking message repeatedly waiting for Harley's signature. A victory bottle of Corellian Whiskey was already locked in the fridge.

Harley Fenstermacher

"Yes it is quite a lot but I very much so want your company to grow, and remember these are for raft that include your products, anything that does not won't contribute to your sales and any new development made by your company will have to be independent". So far so good, and heck if he was able to land that contract with the Fel Empire HCLI may be shipping of many craft with [member="Nelson Zayne"] products inside of them. "If there is nothing more else to discuses I will sign right now, and then we can celebrate to a new partnership and job well done, I hope that we have more business dealings in the future mister Zayne and that we will both lead a prosperous life".

[member="Harley Fenstermacher"]

"This really is a wonderful occasion, I'll get the whiskey! It would be very sad to see you leave so soon after the contract is signed, maybe we can meet again in the future."

Nelson stood up from his chair and grabbed the two glasses of Corellian Whiskey from the fridge and placed one next to Harley. He then took several sips of the drink after sitting back in his chair. Nelson was very pleased to know that Harley wanted both companies to benefit, this will be a wonderful factor in any upcoming new contracts between them.

Outside of the room, the workers were loading the technology on transport ships to return to their original warehouses. The turbolaser was extremely tiring to move and took a large amount of time.

"By the way, Mr. Fenstermacher, do you think my company can have some starships as a gift? I'm just kidding you don't have to, but if you do it would mean a tremendous amount. Starships are usually too expensive to buy."

Harley Fenstermacher

remeber it's not personal, just buiness
"Suppose I can stay around for a drink, not like I'm the on driving or anything, though this is the first time a contracting meeting has ended with a popping of the cork". He was already starting to like [member="Nelson Zayne"] more and more, perhaps they would be able to do more contracts in the future if this was going to be an 'always do' event.

Letting the glass fill up Harley took a small sip, the taste not being to far off from the drink he shared with a rather interesting Confederacy member not to long ago, seemed Corellian Whiskey was popular. Then again after it was almost destroyed such a drink did become rather rare, would make sense that is was now the 'expensive' drink of the galaxy, even with all the restoration efforts going on.

"You want ship? well when I get around to making them maybe, jumping the gun there a little, but I could probably make some sort of armed cargo vessel in the future, no discounts though... well maybe, but at least let me make a fighter first". Something that will be made easier with the help of Nelsons products, "well let us drink to a new relationship".

Nelson Zayne

Born to create tech!
[member="Harley Fenstermacher"]

"Since you mention about our new partnership, is there any companies or rivals that you don't want me to do buisness with? I wouldn't want our buisness's relationship to be ruined if I accidentally dealt with your enemies."

This buisness dealing was basically finished and the contract already sent off. Nelson realized after this whole time, he never inquired about HLCS's diplomacy. Completing only a contract with HLCS, was never what Nelson intended, he wanted to expand as far as possible. And as HLCS being Zayne Industries's first partnership, Nelson wanted to be as allied to Harley's company as possible.
