Description:
This is a container to be dropped to refugees to use as temporary housing or used by survivors until they can be rescued. Ships could keep several on board for crew survival. The design of the pod is similar to an escape pod, except where the passenger would sit the seat has been eliminated. The pod itself will be made of farium, and then lined with crash foam and covered with elastex. Then all components will be loaded into the pod.
Depending upon the model the different is the type of tent included in the container and that the cold weather container has thermal suits. A cold weather container has provisions that provide heat to protect against the cold weather. Whereas a jungle/warm contents container only has the tent to provide a temporary shelter. Each have provisions, medpac, and substance analyzer to assist with survival.
By loading preset coordinates into the program chip the pod would fall towards that location and using the escape pod's original design for a controlled landing preventing others from having to go and find it.
It's only function is to provide temporary shelter, medical care, and provisions until a formal rescue can be initiated.
Weakness: for large groups it will take more than one to accommodate, additionally consumables are gone after 7 days if it takes longer for rescue additional pods would be needed. Human error could underestimate time to rescue vs supplies in container.
Strengths materials that pod is made from are strong and durable enabling it to reach those in need in one piece.
