Technically a hybrid scout/missile frigate, the Sur'haai-class scout frigate, translated to Eye-class, is a fast and agile frigate fitted with long range scanners and powerful comms that allow it to move far ahead of the main fleet to pick out enemy vessel. The six Strill Universal launch tubes give the frigate it's main weapons, and allows the frigate to carry multiple kinds of weapons, including torpedoes, missiles, bombs, and small mines. The only other weapons available to the frigate are a pair of Varactyl dual heavy turbolasers on the bow, and a pair of twin laser turrets for fighter defense.
Defensively, the Sur'haai-class is a light weigh, trading defenses for speed. Only having light armor and a low powered deflector, the frigate can't take a hit. Along with this issue, at full strength the scanners are power hungry, and the comms used to cut through interference are a bit limited. Along with this, the weapons systems can seem fairly limited in some circumstances, especially when facing and enemy with effective anti-munitions systems.
