- In the Palm of Your Hand: A signet ring with a rather unique function of being able to display information, time, scanning systems, and even one way encrypted messages within the palm of the wearer's hand. Based upon the main functioning systems of a particular Cybernetic attachment to the hand, the ring emulates this in much the same way.
- Utility In All Forms: Having an array of sensors, doo-dads, time keepers, and even encrypted communications, the ring was built not just to be a symbol of something, but also a tool that can be used by any within the Jedi based factions should they choose to wear one. Providing utilities outside of armor or otherwise.
- Hidden in Plain Sight: All of this functionality is housed quite cleverly in a ring. Meaning its discrete and useful in many situations.
Weaknesses:
- One At A Time: While the Ring can perform various actions, it can actively only perform two actions at the same time. Namely the passive usage of a encrypted communications device, and that of one more activity. However, functions such as the Watch, general compass, Maps, and Holoprojector can all work in tandem with one another without limiting the scanning systems.
- What You Doing There?: With a Holoprojector in the palm of your hand, when active, it can easily be seen by those who happen to be close, and can also give one's position away in darkened, or low light conditions, or otherwise Que in to the ring's purpose.
- Just a Ring: Its Jewelry with added functionality. However, that is all it can do. It cannot protect the user from anything. Just a Ring.
- One Way: The Communication permitted through the ring is one way communication. Only allowing the user to see the message and use the provided information with their circumstances. However, they cannot send back any messages of their own.
- No Replacements: Due to the nature of this ring, its sensors and functions are very limited. While helpful in many ways, they cannot replace the real deal. If you want dedicated usage for any of the sensors for more than a couple minutes at a time, then get something bigger and better. This is really only best when used in small periods of time, or in situations where the processes are not easily accessible by other means.
- All or One, One for All: Due to the information that can be stored within the ring, it requires the user to actively save said information. As well, once the information is stored, it will be there until it can be erased from the ring. However, the down side to erasing information from the ring, is that it is a hard wipe of all information on there. You cannot pick and choose what information to keep or remove. Its all or nothing. This function was added to allow users to quickly delete all information stored in case it was stolen, or were in the wrong hands.
DESCRIPTION
Signet rings. Tools of the Jedi Factions for years, used by Rebels during the Galactic Empire's rein of terror, and even used by the Paladins of Adamite Tower as a sign of their status of Knighthood. Such items are sought after not only for their potential black market value, but also for their utility. Many rings such as these can perform scans, hold time, or even send out a beacon so that aid can come to the wearer as soon as possible.
As such, using technology based around the cyberscanner arm, a cybernetic used by many in replacement of a datapad, or to aid HUD based systems. As such, the ring series performs in the same function but to a limited capacity. Due to size constraints, not much else could be added on top of what it already could perform.
Adding in a function to display the information across the users hand discretely, send encrypted one way messages, or even scan for life forms that can show up upon a 2D, or 3D map. As well as scanners and systems for other uses.
While the prototype had been built by Kale, he passed on this knowledge to other factions related to the Jedi, Namely at the time being the Silver Jedi Order, Green Jedi within the Corellian Confederation, as well as the Outer Rim Coalition. However, it can only be used by the Jedi, or Force Sensitives within that faction.
