Other Notes:
Opi lived a happy life upon Kashyyyk for most of her life. Living the standard residence within a wroshyr tree, as to be expected, she raised a family with a lifemate – whom she married at the age of 35. The chosen profession for the family had always been military and given that she birthed three strapping young men, whom took after their father, they enlisted as soon as they reached appropriate age. Ari, her husband, served as Chieftain when their offspring were trained and regimented into the Kashyyyk defensive force .

One day, darkness clouded the sky. Reports had swelled from the highest peaks to the shadowlands below. The One Sith were coming. Ari and her sons were stationed at the Grand Republic stronghold, erected and fortified when the Galactic Republic first offered protection to the planet. During that invasion, the structure was utterly destroyed by Yuuzhan Vong and Opi’s husband and sons were killed.

Following the invasion, Opi was consumed with grief over her loss. Others attempted to console her, to remind her that she had other family, but as stubborn as wookiees might be, she confessed that she would never find love again. Ari was gone, her children were gone, and there was simply nothing left for her on Kashyyyk. So she left and she wandered. Planet to planet, station to station, selling personal wood carvings and trinkets and doing the occasional smuggling work. Her life was an endless cycle of monotony until she met [member="Gabriel Sionoma"].

One extremely interested in carving, he later confessed its relationship to Alchemy. After purchasing a small figurine, a young Wookiee wielding a rykk blade, he asked her of the significance of the figurine. Despite the fact that Opi only spoke Shyriiwook, Gabriel was able to easily understand her, noting her particular elegance with the use of the language. It was then that he learned of the fate they shared. While she lost her family at the battle of Kashyyyk, Gabriel was the one who commanded the destruction of the Grand Republic stronghold. Ashamed of this realization, yet unable to admit to his own deeds, he asked Opi to come with him to Sulon, to live on the homestead. While guilt motivated this initial action, far more would cement the notion that it was the right choice all along.

Upon arriving on the Homestead and introducing Opi to Avalore, explaining the circumstances of her arrival, Opi was introduced to Armaud, Destin, and the newly born sapling, S’vora. In that moment, the years spent shuffling from place to place all seemed to melt away. Seeing an opportunity for a life, once taken away, she immediately took to the boys. She promised herself she would be a better caretaker, more protective than she was before. That tragedy couldn’t happen again, she wouldn’t allow it.

Following that, Opi quickly emerged as the nanny for the boys when others were busy tending to their responsibilities. Finding her vocation in tending to the young, she spends her time either with them, or thinking of them. Carving, knitting, cooking, and gardening: she appreciates the capacity to stay busy while simultaneously forming the bonds she lost on that dark day on Kashyyyk.

Intent: This character will serve as primary Nanny for Avalore Eden’s adopted children, as well as stern reminder of past actions.
