OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To create a personal weapon for Riven Riven
  • Canon Link: N/A
  • Permissions: N/A
  • Primary Source: N/A
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
  • Classification: Anti-materiel Sniper/Cannon.
  • Size: Very Large.
  • Weight: Heavy
  • Ammunition Type: 20mm high-yield explosive bullets.
  • Ammunition Capacity: Extremely small (Individually loaded).
  • Effective Range: Extreme.
  • Rate of Fire: Very Low.
  • Damage Output: Extreme.
  • Recoil: Extreme.
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Kinetic - The Riv-20 is designed to only fire kinetic rounds.
  • Stabilization - The Riv-20 has anchor points upon its frame that are to be used with steel wire to secure it to walls and floors to help with its recoil, it also has a foldable bipod to additionally assist with stability when aiming.
  • Explosive Rounds - Typically the Riv-20 fires high-yield explosive rounds. These rounds are designed to detonate shortly after impact, allowing them to pierce through the armor of vehicles before the payload is released inside. The Riv-20 can also fire any other kinetic bullet that is 20mm in diameter.
  • As good as it gets - Due to her size Riven took extra care to make the weapon as light as possible, as a result some things were sacrificed; namely the lack of any sort of magazine. While she made the weapon as light as she possibly could it is still very much heavy.
  • Recoiling Barrel - To further aid with the extreme amount of recoil of the Riv-20: When fired the barrel takes on some of the recoil force and is pushed backwards into the frame of the weapon itself before being sprung back into place, acting as a sort of dampener for some of the force.
STRENGTHS
  • Open Sesame - The Riv-20 is capable of punching through just about anything it cares to. It is designed to pierce both heavily armored vehicles and even the walls of a building. Naturally its piercing power will be greatly diminished with each layer it passes through.
  • Horizon Killer - This rifle was designed for two things; being very far away from your enemy and still being able to kill them. As a result the Riv-20 boasts an absurd range, but likely one that is never utilized to its fullest extent. Simply because; while it has the capacity to perform these shots, its handler may not.
  • Build-a-Gun - The modularity of the Riv-20 and the fact it needs to constantly be assembled means that its parts can be switched out for whatever might fit the task at hand, be this different scopes, a shorter barrel, a different method of anchoring and so on. Its parts are easily replaceable and customizable.
WEAKNESSES
  • Assembly Required - The Riv-20 must be assembled before use. It is so large that it must be carried at all times within a large case and put together wherever you want to use it, and disassembled when you wish to take it elsewhere.
  • One Shot - Due to the lack of a magazine the Riv-20 is loaded directly by hand, inserting bullets into a side-compartment that feeds directly into the barrel itself. This gives it an extremely low rate of fire. Each spent casing must be manually ejected with a bolt at the side of the rifle.
  • Anchoring - If the Riv-20 isn't properly anchored to a wall or floor the recoil will just break your shoulder. This weapon cannot be safely fired without proper anchoring and stabilization.
  • Cumbersome - Due to the weapon's immense size and heavy weight it is practically impossible for someone of regular strength to wield it like any other rifle. You can't simply hold it and swing it around to take aim, it is a slow weapon to reposition and maneuver, especially if you want to re-anchor it.
  • Loud - The shots of the Riv-20 are extremely loud, easily giving away the general position of the shooter. At a far enough distance the bullet will reach you before the sound does however, but you'll still definitely hear it.
DESCRIPTION
The Riv-20 is an exceptionally impressive weapon; fully assembled it reaches up to 90 inches from butt to barrel, dwarfing its wielder in terms of height when set upright. Thankfully this weapon is always carried in parts within a durasteel case. On the field it must be assembled before use, Riven Riven typically does this with the aid of her personal droid who working in routine tandem together can fully assemble the Riv-20 in about 20 seconds, this including not only assembling the weapon itself but anchoring it to whatever nearby sturdy structure there is.

The whole frame and barrel of the rifle are coated in a matte black as to avoid reflecting light or being easily noticeable. The barrel itself makes up 50 inches of the total length of the sniper. The stock at the butt of the weapon is padded with a soft layer of sorbothane to assist in reducing the impact of the recoil. The two anchoring points at the base of the barrel can be used with steel wiring to attach into various hard surfaces with quick-drilled pitons, the firmness of the steel wiring must be adjusted until taut. To further assist with stabilization is a bipod that can be unslung from the bottom of the rifle to provide steady grounded aim.

The scopes of the Riv-20 are advanced and interchangeable. Some have night-vision, others thermal-vision, and many have adjustable levels of zoom and can adjust with dials to compensate or account for distance if needed. The weapon is designed to line up that perfect shot, and it gives you every tool you could desire to do so.

OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
  • Manufacturer: Riven Riven
  • Affiliation: Riven Riven
  • Market Status: Closed-Market
  • Model: N/A
  • Modularity: No
  • Production: Unique
  • Material: Durasteel plating, electronic components/wiring, droid components.
TECHNICAL INFORMATION
  • Classification: Second Degree
  • Weight: Light
  • Height: Small
  • Movement: Quadrupedal
  • Armaments: Hydraulic claws.
  • Misc. Equipment: Advanced optical scanner, tremor sensors, binary vocabulator, heat-pit sensors, manipulators.
  • Resistances (Optional): This is suggested for Battle Droids and other Droids intended to participate heavily in direct combat. (For each category choose from: None, Very Low, Low, Average, High, Very High, Extreme. Ratings of High, Very High, and Extreme will need to be added as strengths with elaboration.) Resistance Ratings Extreme will require the submission to be Unique.
    • Energy (And other Blaster type weapons): Low
    • Kinetic: Average
    • Lightsabers: Very low
    • Other: How much protection does the armor provide against this type of damage? (Examples: Sonic, EMP/ION, Elemental. You must disclose each specific type that applies to this submission with its own rating.)
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • The Tool for the Job - PNCR contains tools included to assist with its main task of assembling a rifle. The base of its claws include little wheels that can spin, and so when PNCR grabs a hold of say, a very long barrel, it can rapidly spin said barrel to screw it into place.
  • Routinely Focused - PNCR was designed very specifically to assist its owner in the assembling of a rifle. As a result PNCR is extremely proficient at this single task and can aid its owner in a flawless routine to assemble her rifle.
  • Quirky - Due to its generally amateur construction PNCR has several behavioral quirks that make it deviate from standard protocols. As a result it may appear to have more personality.
STRENGTHS
  • The Eye - The main optic scanner at the end of PNCR's tail is extremely complex and powerful, capable of varying levels of zoom, lenses, filters, and spectrums, there is very little that can hide from its primary scanner.
  • Portable - PNCR is relatively small and light, enough so that it can be carried by its owner like a backpack as it wraps its main arms around their neck and snaps its claws together. In this position PNCR can stay attached to its owner while utilizing its powerful scanner to assist directly.
  • Legacy - PNCR was rebuilt from the remains of several droids, but mainly these parts came from recon and scanner droids. As a result it excels in sensor and optic based information, and with its sensors can track both tremors in the ground and even heat signatures left behind, making it an excellent tracker.
WEAKNESSES
  • Amateur Hour - The creator of PNCR did not have the deepest knowledge of how to rebuild a droid from the parts of others, and so PNCR contains various flaws in its design mostly relating to its internal logic. Trying to get PNCR to do anything it wasn't designed to do is relatively difficult as a result.
  • Disarmed - The only 'weapon' PNCR has are its hydraulic claws, but these are more meant to be used in the removing of obstacles and the assistance of assembling Riven Riven 's rifle. It is very incapable in a direct fight.
  • Clumsy - PNCR doesn't have the best movement capabilities, it's rather bulky and clumsy, occasionally tripping over certain obstacles, getting stuck in spaces it tried to squeeze through, or rolling over onto its back. Its owner often needs to keep an eye on it for these reasons.
DESCRIPTION
PNCR is the pet project of Riven Riven who assembled it from an assortment of discarded droids, these were mostly recon, scouting, and scanner droids. The intent was originally for her to be able to create a droid that could assist her in the assembling and disassembling of her sniper (Which has to be done in-field). But while she was working on PNCR she took that chance to also have it double as a spotter and tracker to assist in her work. The end result, while a little quirky, did what she needed it to do. PNCR was an extremely capable spotter, and able to perform its main function of assisting in the assembly of her rifle.

PNCR, or Pincer as she sometimes refers to it, is a relatively small droid that takes on the general appearance of a scorpion. It has four legs with which to walk, two manipulator arms that end in hydraulic claws, and a long flexible tail with its main optical scanner at the end of it. PNCR does also have two much more basic optic sensors at the front of its 'face' if ever should someone take a lucky shot and shoot out its main scanner. The droid can also communicate rather actively in Binary.

The droid is relatively bulky in build which only lends itself to its clumsy behavior, but it also provides it just a little more protection from kinetic based attacks. It is however fairly defenseless against lightsabers or energy-based weapons. PNCR after all was never built for direct combat, but to be more of an accessory to it.

When spotting with its main scanner PNCR can hide behind walls, debris, and other obstructions to keep its main body safe while relaying information to its owner on the whereabouts of the enemy, details of terrain, weather, wind, and accurate distance. In the event that it is tracking a target it can use both its tremor and heat-pit sensors to not only track the vibrations in the ground if the target is close enough, but the heat signature left behind. PNCR is however fairly slow, and so such tracking becomes more of a persistence hunt than an active chase.
