Sudden Maintenance

AMBRIA
Junkyard

The scrapyards of Ambria were its lifeline.

Merchants from all over the inner galaxy came to buy and sell anything of value. Much of which happened to be chopped and sold, for the pieces were often more valuable than the whole. That which remained found its way in the planet's somewhat primitive barter system. Trading haul instead of credits.

Where there are scrapyards, there are droid parts too. Making it an exceptional location for anyone in the search of those parts.

Janeth arrived on Ambria just a day earlier, her objective to find any potential droids worth reprogramming and introduction into the Collective's long list of assets.

Only if she knew it wasn't going to be a blue milk run.

Lord Mettallum had came to Ambria in hopes to find exotic and long lost droid parts and technology. With his company growing he needed new parts for research and maybe he may buy some fancy looking scrap for decorations. Lord Mettallum had only came with a few D1s and an AE1 1 as he felt no need for proper security measurements which he would soon learn to be a mistake. As Lord Mettallum went alone the many stalls full of junk he lost his D1 guards who went to get his AE1 which had gotten stuck at a stall trying to buy an old datacron one of the merchants were selling. Lord Mettallum decided to wait for his guards at one of the more empty sections of the junkyard where if he was unlucky would be where [member="Janeth Farr"] took notice of him.

Janeth indeed caught wind of the seemingly lonesome droid; [member="Lord Mettallum"].

She wasn't an expert by any means, but something about the model rubbed her differently than the typical stock droid. He seemed custom, specialized, and perhaps more self-aware and personalized. Though that last one was merely an assumption that came with the rest of her findings.

Interesting. She thought to herself.

Due to being a member of the Collective, she naturally adapted herself to utilizing electronic countermeasures. Any kind of device which would provide her an advantage versus technologically superior foe. Like droids. It was certainly far from perfect, and there was always the odd chance she'd get beaten at her own game. However, she didn't feel anything but assured on her approach to the lone droid.

Her walk and step did not suggest anything other than she was simply here to look and barter as well. She did at least blend in as a spacer, nonchalantly searching the scrapyards for hidden treasures. Janeth's first measure though was to scan Lord Metallum for any unusual devices. Anything that wasn't hidden from prying eyes, to determine the strengths and weaknesses of her target.

Should [member="Janeth Farr"] successfully scan Lord Mettallum she would find multiple hidden contraptions and weapons inside his body. First she would probably see Lord Mettallum's E-13 heavy blaster pistol with some sort of blade connected to it then next she would see his favourite weapon Duplex Hastam But unless she had a really advanced scanner it would probably just seem like a weird looking baton, of course that wouldn't be all she sees as Lord Mettallum also had a jump pack in his body which if things got dire would allow him to escape if needed, another thing she would see on her scanners were the multiple devices in his left hand which seemed like some form of high powered magnet, some repulsor type of device and a form of taser.

Now Lord Mettallum wouldn't have been unaware of the scan as his sensors picked up on it but he couldn't tell who scanned him as even the quieter and emptier sections of the junkyard he was in still had multiple of people around in it plus he couldn't see anyone acting more suspicious than most scoundrels, spacers and junkers at the junkyard. Lord Mettallum put up his guard as he knew something was wrong if he got scanned. If anything Janeth could probably walk right behind him with out him realising until the last section however she would want to move quickly as Lord Mettallum's guards have finally gotten the AE 1 away from the trader and were heading to Lord Mettallum's position.

She kept up her pace, removing an unusual tool from her pocket.

A small automated slicing device gifted to her by the Collective. When latched onto a droid's chassis, it barraged the neural processor with hostile code. It wouldn't last forever, but even advanced firewalls would take a few minutes to successfully ward off the attack. So unless [member="Lord Mettallum"]'s security suite was state-of-the-art, the device should allow Janeth to operate voice commands.

And so she approached him like it was nothing, feigning a pass by as she reached out to latch the device onto his back. Once she walked past him, she spoke.

"Come with me. Quickly." If everything went according to plan, the device would buy her enough time to isolate him from his droids before they managed to spot where the two ventured off two. Her short destination was a recently vacated workshop only a few rows down. Easy to miss if you weren't careful.

Lord Mettallum noticed [member="Janeth Farr"] at the last second but it was a second too late and she was able to attach some strange device to his chassis. Before Lord Mettallum could say anything his neural processor was overran by the hostile code. This was one of the few moments Lord Mettallum would feel true fear as for theses few moments he was vunurable with no way of escape. While he knew in a few minutes his firewall would be able to get rid of the hostile code he doubt he would have that much time as he assumed this women who had put the device on him was about to destroy him and sell him as scrap. When she spoke Lord Mettallum found himself listening to her no matter how hard he tried to fight against the hostile code. One thing that Janeth would find out was that getting Lord Mettallum to place where his guards would not find him was going to be hard as his guards could easily follow the noise of his footsteps and would probably be the only way his guards would be able to find the workshop so if she wanted to make sure this goes as best as possible she would need to figure out how to take out Lord Mettallum's guards before they find where she was taking Lord Mettallum.

Janeth was a pretty good thinker.

She didn't know too much about droids, but she did know a thing or two about running a trail cold.

She beckoned Metallum to enter first, and then rigged an explosive into the door. Such improvised devices were commonly used by smugglers and pirates, and would detonate the moment the door opened. Even if it didn't outright destroy the guards, it would at the very least damage them or scramble their targeting computers.

"In the back!" She demanded. Knowing very well that time was running short. Assuming the droid did not manage to resist just yet, she removed a single use ion blaster from her belt of many things and went to quickly fire it upon Metallum.

If successful, the concentrated blast at close range would be enough to shut him down until someone brought him back online after a few minor repairs. Janeth judged him further, and reckoned that if she hadn't gotten this far already that the droid would've given her a run for her credits; or worse.

Lord Mettallum headed to the back like a mindless machine he was. Lord Mettallum only hoped that his escort would find where he was and save him from this nightmare but as he got to the back he could feel that he was regaining control. Soon he heard an explosion which was his escort attempting to enter the workshop and being blown to bits and if any of them survived you could be sure some scrapers or junkers would go to the location and take them as salvage. As the explosion happened Lord Mettallum regained control and went for his weapon. As his weapon came out of its hidden container in Lord Mettallum's chasis he was shot by the ion blast. Unlike other Metal Lords Lord Mettallum did not have any defences against ion and emp weaponry causing him to shut down and drop his weapon which would like like a simple pole as he had not activated it.
