THE IMPERIAL GUARD

Sith-Troopers-in-Star-Wars-The-Rise-of-Skywalker.png
In the old Galactic Empire there were the Imperial Army and the Stormtrooper Corps who were making up the vast bulk of their amassed ground and security forces. There was a significant gap in quality and of course in the public image between the two. The Stormtrooper Corps had its origins in the mighty Grand Army of the Republic with its elite Clone Troopers while the Imperial Army were basically new and fresh conscripts or volunteers with basic training.

Now the First Order has re-awakened and brings with it once more an elite Stormtrooper Corps, even more focused on training and exercising to offer well drilled soldiers to the regime it serves and bring fear and defeat into the hearts of its enemies. Both due to its size and its military doctrine, the First Order lacks a vast Imperial Army of basic troops.

Instead it fields an even more elite corps of Shock Troopers: the Imperial Guard.

INTRODUCTION
latest.png
The Imperial Guard is composed of veteran Stormtroopers who have distinguished themselves as unyielding, loyal and skilled in combat. They are the razor which cuts through the enemy defenses, the hammer which shatters the opponents resistance and the shield on which the enemy breaks. They are equipped with better gear, receive more training and more intense drills and are a beacon of defiance to the forces of chaos.

Founded together with the Imperial Praetorian Guard, the Imperial Guard is its battlefield-cousin and often is commanded by officers of the Praetorian Guard in combat when on their own. Adopting the appearance, but not the allegiance, of the Sith Troopers of the old Sith Eternal, the red armour blends perfectly into the Imperial Praetorian Command where all operating units feature this distinctive detail, a sign of uniformity and their elite status.

Originally veterans of the Sith-Imperial Wars and the Second Great Hyperspace War who have flocked to the side of the Supreme Leader, they were the training instructors and drillmasters of the newborn First Order Stormtrooper Corps. But through the rapid expansion of the First Order and its military assets as well as the swelling of the ranks with distinguished veterans, a solution for the Legions was to be implemented.

ORGANISATION

Imperial Guard Command
  • Legion Command
    • Individual Legions & Regiments
    • Death Trooper Brigade
  • High Military University
  • Special Operations Division
    • Aggressive Reconnaissance Brigade
    • Commando Brigade

Legion Command
latest.png
Legion Command is the sub-structure of the Imperial Guard which deals with the relatively simple deployments and duties of the Imperial Guard, namely its battlefield and frontline units. These are usually structured in their own Legions which, except extraordinary circumstances demand it, are administrative units while the Guard Regiments are the ones which are integrated into the Stormtrooper Legions and work as their prime shock troops.

latest.png
Additional to that are the Death Troopers, handpicked soldiers who are known for their defiance of death and exceptional courage and ability to handle weapons, even for Imperial Guard standards. They are organised in squads on their own and often bear distinctive marks and squad or even company names. They are deployed to the most hostile warzones and to the most difficult frontlines to break the stalemate and overcome the enemy with pure force of will.

High Military University
The High Military University of the First Order is the backbone of its officer education as well as where both Praetorian Knights and Guards are educated as well in military and warfare matters. It focuses on ground and space combat alike and takes students from the Military and Fleet Academies alike when they show potential. Graduating from here is the assured way into High Command of the First Order military.

Special Operations Division
The least public and least well known unit of the Imperial Guard Command, is the Special Operations Division. It holds a very close working relationship with the Ministry of Military Intelligence as well as the Imperial Security Bureau and trains both the Imperial Guard Commandos as well as the Aggressive Reconnaissance Guardsmen.

The Commandos are SpecOps and BlackOps operatives trained and drilled to do nearly anything. There are no described limits to their operational capability and they will do anything from hostage rescues, infiltration, assassination as well as bodyguard duties or imitating an official. They are undercover and faceless operators which never go into the light of public.

Opposite to the Commandos, the ARC Guardsmen have duties which are usually closer to the battlefields. They are often specialists assigned to specific units to fulfill specific tasks in specific situations and are a versatile soldier and weapon in the arsenal of the First Orders warmachine.

CU_chapter_1.png

The FIRST ORDER suffered several defeats at its northern rimward front! Several outposts and an important listening post have been destroyed by the assaults of EKADDON THE ARSONIST, infamous Mawite Dark Jedi and his brutal coalition of misfits. They are hardly pressing the new regime through raids and swift attacks.

Under the personal command of the SUPREME LEADER, the First Order assembles both frontline units to combat the marauding forces and eventually try to push them back as well as logistical forces to rebuild what has been lost. Further contacts with local industry and nobility have to be rekindled to incorporate the resources into the regime.

The first stage of this operation aims for the valuable world of LORARDIA and its deposits of Maranium. A portion of the marauder fleet is known to operate from there and holds the local mining guilds under their cruel rule. Therefore a unit of the PRAETORIAN KNIGHTS is dispatched to find the guild leaders and their resistance and help them while the IMPERIAL FLEET has to try to lure out the enemies before a new outpost can be constructed in the system.

Chapter_1_find_and_protect.png

For: Imperial Knights, Agents, Special Operations
  1. Find the leaders of the mining guilds. They went undercover to hide from the marauders and are protected by private security.
  2. Bring them to the table with the First Order and either secure dependency, ownership or a contract beneficial to the regime.
  3. Protect them or the one who decides to side with us against the marauders who have discovered the hideout.

Chapter_1_seek_and_destroy.png

For: Fleeters, Ground Pounders (boarding, capturing the base)
  1. Locate the marauder fleet base in the asteroid belt.
  2. Engage the fleet and destroy or capture the base. Be mindful, the Marauder ships are fast and hard hitting but cannot take a punishment. Most of their ships are Frigates and Cruisers able to quickly move through the dense asteroid belt.

Chapter_1_gather_and_rebuild.png

For: Politicians, Industrials, Diplomats, Engineers, Soldiers
  1. Contracts with several companies have to be arranged to both meet the supply requirements of the expanding First Order and to support rebuilding processes in the regions devastated by war.
  2. Several outposts along the northern rimward border have been lost, rebuild them as well as a vital listening post.
