SUBJUGATION

The shuttle breached the planet's atmosphere with nearly no trouble at all. Planet 0718, a small orb at the edge of the Illyria system, had served as the home to one of Adron's apprentices for long enough. With the Sith taking measured steps to form the Sister of Death, he would need the youngest and one of the most promising of his hopefuls returned to his side. The shuttle came in fast, gliding low over the planet's surface. It landed not far from where the Sith Lord had dropped off his apprentice. The Sith Lord stood in the back of his shuttle, his arms crossed over his chest as he silently searched the Force for the answer of unasked questions. His eyes came open with a start, those amethyst orbs shining through the darkness. He could feel the ship settle down onto the planet's surface in an even landing. The metallic landing ramp lowered down onto the planet. The armored Knights of the Royal Guard were the first to depart, the four men moving down the ramp in deliberate, powerful steps.

The King followed down behind them, brushing a hand through his hair as he felt the warm rays of the planet's noonday sun. He could feel it. It flooded through his being as a warm drink would, causing his lips to curl into a knowing smile.

The war here had ended.

When there was hatred and war in an area, the Sith Lord was able to feel the thick of it, drinking from it so deeply that it amplified his power and granted him clairvoyance. The air had been here when Adron dropped Danielle Mueller off and gave her a single, difficult task.

I am supplying you with ten security droid units and a tactical droid to advise you. Between the two villages there are nearly one hundred people on this planet. It is your duty to subjugate them. You will end their war and take command of them. When I return, I expect to see far more than what lays here now. Fail and you will remain here until the task is done. He remembered the words with a slight smirk. In the depths of his mind he was unsure if he believed that Danielle could complete her task. The simple truth was that she must complete the task if she was to advance. Whether she knew it or not, it was her destiny to become a conqueror of worlds and that path was one carefully molded.

He stood before the small village, eyeing it closely before closing his eyes and calling out to her.

Show me what you have accomplished. He called into her mind, demanding to see what she had done in his absence.

The sight of the descending ship had been enough to disturb the girl's plans for the day and instead turn heel in making for the landing zone where Adron Malvern would arrive; Danielle walking with pace in order to meet him at the entrance to Yabami Village as the Exarch would no doubt expect of her. She couldn't recall the exact date that he had dropped her upon the moon, a fairly unknown and lowly populated rock that she had known nothing of saving for the few details that Adron had spared her before abandoning her there with the expectation of ending a war.

Subjugation he had called it, though she saw it more as a coming of leadership rather than his sense of control that he liked to have over others.

Standing upright with her hands held at her back, she watched attentively as the Royal Guard filed out of the transport first before her Master eventually stepped out into the open, the sight of him encouraging her gaze to lift a little higher in acknowledgement of the man. "Come and see for yourself" Danielle spoke aloud in response to his demand, an air of confidence about her that hadn't previously been upon her person when he had first left her there.

Those first days had been uncertain and frightening, being left alone to find a means of getting between two warring tribes and establishing peace through whatever means she deemed necessary. There was a high chance that her methods and approach weren't like those of her Masters, yet he was a heavier hand than her own when it came to the manipulation of others and Dee had promised herself not to reflect this in our own works.

As if in response to the Royal Crownsguard, eight Yabami Warriors moved to flank Danielle upon either side, not able to identify their visitors or recognize them as Danielle did herself. A simple raise of her right hand would see the guardians visibly relax some, although still carrying a sense of apprehension about their being instructed to stand-down.

THE YOUNGEST PUP

The familiar voice caught Adron's eyes. His lips curled into that same pride-filled smile that usually ensued when things fall to his likings in his schemes. He could sense the confidence that bled from Danielle in thick droves. It even had an impression on her presence in the Force. The Sith Lord was keen to notice this as anything to deepen her connection to the Force was an important step in this stage of her training. The King closed the distance between the young woman and his landing zone. His eyes took to the savage, yet impressive, warriors who stood guard behind his apprentice. He said nothing for a long time.

His eyes scanned one part of the village and loomed to another. The war had ended and with it's death came order. He looked back down to Danielle and took another simple step forward. "I can sense their respect for you." He said, gesturing to the warriors with a simple point of his chin. "The air here is different." He said.

His hands took hold of Danielle's shoulders and he turned the woman's back to him, his hand canvassing the entire village before them. "You have brought order where it did not previously exist." He said, both of his hands coming to rest on the young girl's shoulders.

"I am proud of you."

The words had no accompaniment as Adron had already let his hands free of the woman's shoulders and was stepping past her. "War. It is the tool of order but it is also it's enemy. Let us hope the future brings order to more of the galaxy as you have here." He seemed to trail off for a moment before exhaling, placing his hands on his waist with a small sigh. "Damned pest." He said, looking to Danielle. "You've done much better than I expected, especially in such little time. Very well." The King looked to a member of his Royal Guard and nodded softly. The armored Knight bowed his head before turning back to the ship. The Sith Lord turned to Danielle once more, crossing his arms over his chest before holding up three fingers. "Persuasion, Coercion, and Physical Force. These are the three tools of subjugation. Utilize these tools in the proper order and you will be met with victory. Sometimes it requires but one, sometimes all three are necessary." He told her.

"When I took Illyria for my own I used all three, however taking command of something is more than demanding of it. It is caring for it, nurturing it. It is having a dream and vision for it that is something more than it could ever achieve without you." He heard boots impacting against the ground and turned from Danielle. "You will come to understand this."

One member of the Royal Guard was carrying a large metallic crate, several feet long. He brought it to the King and set it into the dirt in the center of the village. "I have a gift for you. By showing me you could handle this village I think there is something else you are ready to handle." Adron ran his hands along the scanner on top of the crate. Several mechanical locks clicked in response to his handprint, before a low hissing sound could be heard. The box opened as Danielle grew closer.

From the dark shadows of the box two crimson eyes pierced through Danielle. The box shifted subtly and then...

It attacked, leaping forward onto Danielle's chest.

It was only about 16 inches long, however.

Danielle watched with a sense of apprehension as the Crownsguard brought out the large metal crate, her gaze moving to Adron Malvern Adron Malvern a little suspiciously as she questioned just what he was bringing with him, and whether it meant certain danger for her alike his last great surprise of Tatooine. He would never live it down...The last thing that she expected was to be met with the sight of a Pup leaping up into her arms and kissing her face with a wet tongue lapping against her cheek; Dee forgetting herself and laughing joyfully as the gorgeous little animal seemed just as happy to be in the shared company as she herself was.

"Is this for real?" She shot a look back at the Exarch, dreading the thought that he might be goading her, dangling such a gift before her if not only to take it away in the same moment. Danielle had never had a pet before, a companion as loyal as she had heard the Canine Species could be. Although she couldn't exactly tell what particular breed the little Pup was, it certainly looked wilder than the domesticated dog-type.

The eight warriors nearby seemed to relax that much more at the sight of Danielle's clear pleasure in being given such an astonishing gift, something to care for, to love and call her own. Truth be told she could probably stand there and hug the little Pup all day long, however her Master stood before her still and she did not doubt that he had more to say, including what was expected of her henceforth.

"Does this gift also come with a new set of instructions?" she soon asked, intrigue crossing her as she wondered whether she would be leaving the small moon and returning to civilization once again, or otherwise due to finding out what purpose he had for the people of the two villages now that they had been pacified.

YOUNGEST SISTER

Even the Royal Guard were smiling beneath their helmets. So often in the shifting of the galaxy there are few moments for children to actually enjoy something that is of their nature. A puppy. No. A guardian who will learn and grow beside her and become an invaluable tool in the times to come, but for now? A puppy. Even Adron showed a small closed lip smile at the sight. He crossed his arms over his chest and nodded at the young girl's words. It was real. It was not a test, nor a lesson in the harshness of the galaxy. It was something she had earned.

His mind echoed back to the words spoken by his father when he received his first pet. "He is your responsibility. You will name him, you will grow with him, and when the time comes you will bury him. Every experience the two of you share is something that will be special to you, cherish it." He walked over to Danielle and his hand came down, patting her head softly, a sign of affection he had never shown another person. As soon as it came, it was gone. The Sith Lord turned from the girl. As she spoke about instructions, Adron merely nodded his head once. "Illyrian Shadow Wolves are proud and stubborn, but no animal is more loyal. Also...you'll find as they grow they can become rather talkative. The more you learn to imprint upon him, the more your minds will link."

"Now. It is time we leave here." He said, looking to Danielle. "Say your goodbyes and be prepared to depart in an hour." He told her, making his way back to the shuttle.

"I suppose Buttercup's out of the question?" Dee asked rhetorically, throwing her Master a grin and caring little for the playful attitude she posed him for a change, instead, elated by the Pup that she held within her arms and turning back to head in the direction of her quarters, calling back to him "I'll meet you on deck". It wouldn't take long for Danielle to get her possessions in order, having kept them all packed and organized in the case that she might have had to move on a moment's notice, it would be the farewells that would be the most difficult part.

In complete honesty, however, Dee was eager to head back into Confederate Space where she could return to the comfort of her Condo and enjoy the convenience of modern day technologies. Not that the moon she currently stood upon was without its own tech, it simply wasn't on par with the quality equipment used by the Confederacy and especially those working so closely alongside an Exarch such as Adron Malvern.

Keeping her farewells brief for the want to avoid getting emotional, Danielle did her best to bid the people a respectable goodbye before making her way back towards her Master's transport with her Pup nipping playfully at her heels and barking up at her as though he knew she was his owner. The joy that the sight of the playful little pooch gave her was beyond measure, and this gift made up for Tatooine as far as Dee was concerned. Whether or not that was Adron's plan, she could forgive him now that she had the young doggo alongside her.

Stepping up onto the deck of the shuttles landing ramp, Dee ushered the little pup ahead of her whilst carrying her bag over her left shoulder and sealing the entrance once the Crownsguard had returned to the ship. The vacuum seal of the ships loading ramp sealing them in, sounded her sudden eagerness to be off the moon and back into the everyday life of an Apprentice Adjutant once more.

DARK SCREAMS

After leaving the small settlement, the shuttle brought Danielle and Adron back to the confines of the Royal Palace on Illyria. Danielle was allowed some time to shower and eat before she was summoned to the Palace's primary courtyard. The King greeted her with a nod of his head before gesturing for her to come towards him. "You did well, very well." He told her before walking over to a nearby bench and resting down onto it. After sitting he turned his amethyst eyes up to the girl with expectantly. "It is time for your next lesson in The Force, however it requires a great deal of discipline and it will be painful." He explained to her.

"
It is also a powerful attack that will bring your enemies to a stand still if executed properly." There was a distinctive difference between Danielle's current state and the way she must be molded, it required a great deal of care and the Dark Side of the Force would have to become her ally. The Sith were beings who embraced their fears and terrors, using every emotion to empower them. "It is called a Force Scream. It requires you to build up the emotions within you and suddenly release them in a sonic wave."

"However doing this requires you overcome your terrors and fears." A half-truth, but one that should go unnoticed. He stood up from his seat and walked over to the young girl, tapping a single finger along the center of her brow. "Which means first we must enhance and activate your fears so they may empower you."

"I will not lie to you. It is an exceptionally difficult task and to be trapped within your mind with your wildest fears running around...It is the equivalent of the storm you waded on Illyria's moon." He told her.

"It is your next step. You decide when you are strong enough to face it." He told her.

Danielle had never heard of a Force Scream before. Although that probably wasn't all that much of a surprise given her general lack of knowledge where the Force was concerned over-all; The girl was adept with her Tonfa Sabers and even better with a blaster rifle, but it was her practice in the Force that lacked the most in all aspects of her progress, both knowledge and the application of such.

"This whole process of being locked within my own mind...-Is this along the same lines as what we did at the beginning of my training, Master?" Danielle asked, recalling upon the first experience where she not only learned how truly real the Force was but also how much power Adron Malvern Adron Malvern could wield over others, to not only breach someone's mind but to leave them there completely unaware of the real-world events happening around them.

And as far as her fears were concerned, how much farther did Adron intend to push her exactly. They had established that she feared being alone, being judged and ridiculed by others...-Essentially proving all the negative thoughts and feelings she held within herself, yet to what extent could they be utilized in learning to practice such an ability.

"What exactly is involved here, and how does it differ from my last experience?..." she asked further.

SCREAM

When Danielle asked about the training to come, the Sith Lord fell silent for a moment of consideration. "Not exactly." He finally rested on as an answer. The man offered Danielle a faint smile before it was quickly washed away by his usual serious expression. "A force scream requires you to unlatch the caps on your emotions, most importantly fear. This exercise will put you through a nightmare that will bring you face to face with your greatest fear. You will have to accept your fear, embrace it, and utilize it to empower the Force. Once this is accomplished you will have an understanding on the necessary measures to achieve a Force Scream."

The Sith Lord paused before continuing. "It will be a nightmare, nothing more. Unlike your first trial the only thing that can happen is you get afraid, perhaps even hurt. However it is the Force Scream that will set you free. Focus deeply on your fears and accept them. Do not let them wash you away and do not shut your eyes to them. Face them like a warrior." He was sure to play on Danielle's need for validation. "You can do it. I have faith in your strength." He said, realizing his words were not falsely spoken, if not something he would say naturally.

"As I said, nothing is easy in this process. It requires suffering, only through suffering can you understand the need for power...so those you care about may never suffer as you have." He admitted, somewhat stoically, before turning his eyes to her.

He was silent for a moment before speaking up, the words flowing from his lips absent regard. "When you commit yourself to the Force, it is through your own inclination as to why. I've never told you why I study the Dark Arts so rigorously."

"Family and future." He declared.

"The galaxy is a place of unrest and turmoil that responds only to the shield and sword that is the Force. If we are to survive, if we are to see those we love live and grow...then the sacrifice is never too great." He said.

"Commit yourself to something greater than yourself and you will wield the power to make a difference Danielle." He instructed her.
