An original mandalorian stealth bomber designed by the efforts of Clan Angrund, the Strill is a fine craft, highly advanced, quiet, and packing a suitably Mandalorian level of firepower into her airframe. Composed of smooth lines and coated with a matte black coating that is made of vacuum and reentry hardened Ferrocarbon, the bomber is easy on the eye, but designed for function over form. The craft carries two heavy turbolasers and two heavy ion cannons as her primary energy weapons, focused forward.
She is equipped with a stygium cloaking device. To further enhance her stealth, an advanced Gravitic Amplitude Modulator is employed in an attempt to remove the gravitic signature of the bomber from CGT or Dovin Basal based detection systems. In addition the cockpit is equipped for either a single pilot, or pilot and navigator/gunner. The hyperdrive is a class 1, augmented by a momentum sustainer which allows the bomber to penetrate interdiction fields at need. Controls for the specialized low emission sensors and communications, as well as power management systems are also here. In an emergency the cockpit can be ejected and serves as a lifepod.
Below the spartan cockpit the main ordnance racks and launchers take up the bulk of the lower section of the craft. By having a number of racks to choose from, the pilot has the choice of a large variety of weapons that can be loaded onto his ship to get the job done; that ultimate goal usually being the destruction or severely damaging a target, though incapacitating a target at times is just as effective in certain situations.
The super heavy munitions carried can vary from shield buster missiles and ion missiles, rockets and bombs, to more deadly heavy proton rockets, proton bombs, to baradium bombs and even exotic nuclear and fusion weapons, and impact weapons such as Seismic Charges and mines, or most dangerously, boarding torpedoes. Strill is designed for versatility in her strike packages, and is equally able to deliver them quietly if not quickly.
Because of her heavy armaments and extra thrusters, the vessel lacks shields, and even heavy armour plating, making it somewhat vulnerable to enemy fire. It is also not designed to compete for long against enemy fighters. Though the Strill can dogfight in a pinch, it cannot escape with its lack of speed. The Strill's all aspect thruster array allows for significant agility, allowing her to quietly get inside an enemy fleet's defences. Named for a well known Mandalorian hunting companion animal, the Strill Bomber is best used on the offense when striking without warning.
