Early Life
Strath Lorcas was the firstborn son of the monolith Grand Moff Selrik Lorcas. However, his father being only 22 years old, Selrik was only an aspiring student of the imperial academy at the time. The decision to have a child at the time was only done to comply with a government initiative to procreate. Most fortunately, when Strath was born, it was to a prestigious lineage of both the father and mother's side, and he was a boy. This gave the father, @Selrik Lorcassome formidable credibility when he began making moves to gain power and influence.

Despite being seen as a leverageable continuation of the Lorcas line, Strath seemed to naturally gravitate towards thrill seeking and glory. At first, this was seen as a distraction from his destiny as a political tool. But Moff Selrik Lorcas very wisely calculated a way to harness Strath's aspirations into energy, and directed the young lad into joining the risen imperial naval academy.

Military Flight Training
During his time at the academy, Strath met a young woman by the name of Phaedra "Killshot" Dengo. The two of them were bitter rivals at first. This was no accident, however. Selrik Lorcas had schemed to have the prodigious young woman placed in Strath's class to challenge him. The rivalry was at first bitter, and tense, as Phaedra always seemed to just barely pull ahead of Strath. It was also encouraged by the faculty, as they had been made aware of Moff Lorcas's expectations. However, the two of them eventually developed a sibling-like bond as they realized how much they grew and learned from each other. The two of them graduated at the top of their class with a mutual respect that they would learn to value in their later careers.

Career In The Imperial Navy Fighter Corps
Upon graduating with flying colours, Strath seemed to have little trouble climbing the ranks of the Risen Empire. Curiously, his requests for promotions and special assignments seemed to get pushed through much faster than those of his peers. While he was confident that his skill sets were up to the task, he still had to wonder if his father's influence had something to do with it. His suspicions were confirmed when he finally found holonet articles celebrating his successes and advances in exaggerated, flattering context. Each article seemed to prop up the strengths and benefits of the Lorcas Moffry, weaving a narrative that bolstered the political machinations of Strath's father.

While others would feel used and exploited, Strath couldn't help but feel proud. For the first time in his life, he felt like he was of actual use to his father. He felt as though his actions as a pilot were helping to prop up the Lorcas name and strengthen his family's legacy. This motivated him to work harder, and strive for more success.

Eventually, he came to command his own naval squadron for his fighter wing. The naval unit, dubbed Asserter Squadron, was tasked with subduing insurgent forces as they would emerge throughout the risen empire. He would lead from the front lines in the cockpit of a fighter whenever engaged, and allow for press coverage to showcase his victories.

But, alas, his overconfident would become his undoing.

An insurrection would ignite on a backwater world nearby Dornea. Intel proactively warned Strath that the Dornean-adjacent uprising was better funded and supported than other rebellions he had faced. Someone with incredible influence had been supporting this movement, and it had been advised that Strath should request more reinforcements for this raid.

Strath's cockiness overruled the sound advice of his intel officers and he proceeded with the raid. When his fighters and bombers bored in on the enemy fortress in an overcommitted fashion, the Foundation sprung their trap.

His bombers were intercepted. His fighters were overwhelmed. His capital ships were outflanked. One-by-one, he watched his entire combat squadron get systematically killed by an enemy that he had lined himself up perfectly for them to destroy. He fought in vain, scoring kill after kill, but it would all be for naught. His entire unit was served up on a platter, and it was all his doing.

The whole ordeal was caught on camera. He had believed this to be a huge opportunity for a publicity victory, so he had denied no reporter the opportunity to capture the events of what was supposed to be a great victory. It was a complete humiliation.

When he, and a pathetic few other ships managed to escape, he was bombarded by reporters asking questions. His mind reeled in the memory of his comrades dying all around him and he became catatonic before the holocams. The sound of yelling reporters drowned into the background as he realized the weight of his failures. So many dead. So many were his fault.

His father did what he could to salvage the situation, but the public nature of Strath's failure was a detriment to the Grand Moff's reputation. Selrik Lorcas only barely managed to keep Strath from getting dishonourably discharged, but that was all he could do before he was forced to shield himself from his son publicly.

Demoted to Lieutenant, Strath had gone from commanding his own combat fleet to a desk worker, at a dead-end posting. His memories of having gotten all of his subordinates killed tormented him as he suffered too much time to think about things. Eventually, he broke down emotionally, and resigned to reach out to the most unlikely friend in a time of need.

Phaedra "Killshot" Dengo came through for him. She knew his potential, and knew that he still had much to offer the Empire. She pulled what strings she could and managed to get him a position on the brand new elite unit: Reaver Squadron.

Stripped of honour, pride, and his father's support, he accepted the position. The pain of his failures still tormented him in his moments of isolation, but he resolved to turn his torment into fuel. He would regain his honour, his rank, avenge his subordinates, and most importantly, earn his father's respect.

He will be redeemed…
