Story of Us

Sophia's heart was all a flutter when she received the call from Turin. All the anger, sadness, and confusion she had towards him and his not being there seemed to dissipate. He did what he had to and from what she saw he had tried to come after her. He wanted to be there just he couldn't as everything went terribly wrong. Now it seemed though he wished to talk to her after all these months. Sophia didn't understand why it took so long but it didn't matter. He hadn't fully runaway.

There was so much that she wanted to say that she never had. It took being almost killed by the Sith for Sophia to understand and realize how important those around her were. She ought to have told him what he meant to her before now and even if it turned out to be to late she at least would say it now. Sophia wasn't sure what he was looking for from her or if he wanted to try to salvage anything. This meeting was a start though at least of something.

Nervously she played with her black leather jacket as she waited for his arrival. Underneath the jacket she had on a simple blue dress. Sophia had hoped coming early to the cafe and drinking some tea would have settled her nerves a bit however it didn't seem to help much. She was nervous as ever before almost like it was their first date again. It was silly, he was coming. He wasn't going to let her down, he would be here.

Sighing she took a sip of her tea.The soon he got here the better because than she would know what he was thinking about everything. She hated waiting..

The irony was not lost on the young Force user as he entered the cafe. It was a similar setting to the place of their first..."date". That had been a much simpler time. Omni had not revealed itself to the Galaxy, he still flew Republic colors, and the Force had been a thing of the past for him. Now everything was dissorienting and harsh. He had only recently found some sort of sanctuary in the form of the Silent Conclave, which was how how she had been able to get a hold of Sophia. He had...meant to do it earlier, but one thing led to another. Another hunter led to another, all looking to collect on the bounty that his own father had placed on his head.

Entering completely through the glass doors, Turin was dressed as if he were traveling a long distance on foot. He had an old bantha leather jacket with what seemed to be a hood, but was actually half of his old Jedi robes. He was also wearing worn out jeans and what seemed to be heavy boots. A plain shirt lay underneath the layers, his saber secretly tucked away into his jacket. His hood was up, blocking his face from view of the cameras. He could have used the Force to flash them, but this was easier.

Taking not of Sophia the man walked over and took the seat directly in front of her. "Sophia?" came a familiar voice from behind a few weeks of unshaven mess. His blue eyes met hers and a smile that seemed to come from deep within some ancient temple were there to greet her.

He looked worse than she did. Sophia didn't mean for her kidnapping to take such a toll on those she cared for. Turin had lost everything because of her. The way he lived now was because of her and what she had done to him. Sophia was emotionally and physically scared but she was healing even if it was slowly. She also wasn't running from bounty hunters as she had a new home now. A nice life, friends, and she was trying to move forward.

Lightly smiling back at him her emerald eyes met his. She was silently for a moment searching for the words to match her feelings. "Thank you for coming to see me. I really have missed you. Can I get you a drink or something?" Sophia was all over the place right now with everything. She didn't know what to say, what was appropriate to say. Seeing him again after all this time was bringing up emotions in her that she thought long gone and buried.

Sophia didn't want to be angry at him however a part of her still was. When she needed him the most he was gone without a trace which made trying to heal even harder. In truth it had felt like another stab in the gut and made her feel as if he had never cared regardless of anything that told a different tale. The bounty hunters were an excuse to get away from the now damaged young lady.

The angry for him turned into angry at herself for letting all this happen. There were so many regrets but that was the past when things had been simpler. Things were complicated now for both of them but she still felt like that girl going on her first date with him.

A nod came from Turin as he lowered his hood. A drink would be nice...Maybe things could work out again...Maybe, just maybe if his connection pulled through he would be able to enter the Conclave, though that was a secret that he would be forced to keep even from Sophia, but maybe things would start working for the better. "A drink would be lovely-" The color drained from his face, his pupils became dilated as he was thrown into a screaming pit of death and destruction. He could hear screams from what seemed to be lightyears away, the distorted faces of men, women and children filled his mind. He looked around and all he could see was pain, the faces and the bodies attached to them began to surround him, embracing him with their agony.

Each touch sent ripples of pain through his body. In this vision he began to scream and as the faces continued to thrust themselves upon him, several figures appeared in the distance, all emanating malice and lust for destruction. One stood out to him, a rather large figure and the only one with eyes and those eyes burned with centuries of knowledge and centuries of darkness. Whomever this being was to represent, he was powerful beyond Turin's comprehension. And then the last body pilled on and his vision became black.

In the real world Turin had quickly stood up, pushing the chair he sat in to the ground, his saber had been activated, the silver blade coming to life with a snap-hiss. The owner had pulled a weapon on the young man and other patrons cried out in shock. The hum of his lightsaber was the first thing he heard as he came back to reality. His vision, still blurred could barely make out the figure in front of him. Sweat clung to his brow. Something had happened many star systems away, something terrible. What, the young Forcer had no clue, but soon they would all know. For now, he looked like a maniac attempting to murder a defenseless girl.

She hadn't been made aware yet of the reason for their meeting. It was possible he was here strictly to just say goodbye or perhaps he wanted to start again. Things were complicated but they could do it together this much she believed in. She didn't know what he wanted though and truthfully Sophia wasn't that sure on what she wanted for herself either. A drink was a great start which she was about to get them when something happened.

Sophia remembered that he sometimes got visions. It was a Force-user thing or perhaps it was a flashback. She either way wanted him to know it was alright, she was here for him. She used to get horrible flashbacks during the day were she would end up screaming on the ground alone. Luckily those were less frequent now during the day but she knew how terrible they were.

"Turin, I'm here. Your safe."She spoke softly as she rose from her seat taking a deep breath. Lightsabers still freaked her out some but Sophia knew he wouldn't hurt her. She believed in that at the very least. She ignored the others now staring at all of them and moved from her side of the table to his. "Let's put this away," she gently smiled brushing her hand lightly over his his. It was better for her to not try and grab it from him incase he was still was in the vision. It seemed that his gift still haunted him.

Placing the hand at her side she reached out next to wrap her arms around him in a hug. She knew during her flashbacks she could have used one of those. Just someone to hold her and tell her it would be alright. Sophia never had that though and she still went through this alone. He shouldn't have to though. "Everything is ok. I have you. I'm not going to let anybody hurt you." She sighed placing her head on his chest.

The saber deactivated and Turin's arms wrapped around Sophia. His heart still beat fast and tension was still high with the owner still bearing his weapon, following the Forcer carefully. "Something is wrong." Almost on cue, the holoscreens around the room that had been playing a gravball match cut to a priority news station. Turin had changed the channel with the Force and the switch caught the anchor mid sentence, "-a great tragedy. In times like these we must come together and help one another get through this terrible time." In the corner of the screen, a still image of an exploding sun and the words 'The Tragedy of Rhommamool and Osarian'. Turin cursed under his breath. Did the figures in his vision have something to do with this? They had to have, especially the large one...The rest of the figures seemed humanoid, more or less, but this one towered over the rest. Could it have been a Wookie? There had been Wookie Force users before...

His eyes were cold and hard in concentration as he looked on at the screen. The voice became drowned out in the wake of his own thoughts. Then he remembered where he was. He was with Sophia now, he could take his vision to the Conclave later. But for now, he would stay with her despite his want to whisk her away with him to the Conclave where it was almost completely safe. Then again, was anywhere safe with that being leading the charge?

The screen then cut to what seemed to be the Chancellor of the Republic speaking on what had occurred. His eyes narrowed. He knew of their connection with the Sith, which didn't bode well for them at all. This attack had Sith written all over it. He pittied the Republic, but he would never return there...Or maybe he would.

Turning to watch the broadcast Sophia sighed as she watched the images of the explosion being played out. She was most certain that this attack was Sith related. She couldn't think of anybody else whom would do such a thing. Her heart went out to the friends and family of those on those planets. It was a terrible thing and it just drove home the lesson that life was so precious and could be taken away without warning. She learned that well under the care of the Sith when they almost killed her multiple times. Sighing again she pulled Turin closer to her so very happy that she knew where he was.

It was no surprise that the Republic was up there with a response already. They were good at that but part of her made her believe they had connections with the Sith. If they didn't she probably would have never gotten kidnapped as the Sith wouldn't have worried about a simple captain. Her kidnapping was about so much more than just money this much Sophia was sure about but since she couldn't change the past she didn't focus on it. Sophia was more concerned on the confederacy response which she was sure may be coming soon. Honestly she was surprised that her phone wasn't ringing right now. It would soon but she wanted to stay with him.

"I'm not with the Republic anymore. I couldn't stay after what happened." She motioned to the holo tub as she continued listening to the broadcast leaning her head on his shoulder. She hoped he knew that they were in this together. It was more important now than ever for them to stick together. "Don't leave I want you to stay with me.."She couldn't lose him, not again unless he didn't want to stay. The galaxy was a dangerous place but at least if they were together they could watch each other's back. It was a bold statement to ask for him to stay with her but she had to. He needed to know what he meant to her and what he still did.

He shook his head. He knew she wasn't with the Republic anymore. She had left, just as her father had...Though now neither of them were on the same side. It pained him, but they would have to be a part. They lived in two completely different worlds...And he couldn't, wouldn't allow her to be a part of his. There was to much potential for her to be thrown into harm's way again.

"We...Cant." he muttered quietly, moving away from her. He didn't want her to worry. He wanted to tell her things would be okay. But he knew they wouldn't. What ever the large creature had done had set in motion events that could not be changed. Dark times were coming for them both.

"We can't what? Be together?" Sophia held back tears as she could feel her heartbreaking. She knew that this had been a possibility however she had not prepared herself for such a response or for him to suddenly move away from her. Sophia had been hoping he would holding he would hold her. Promise everything would be alright even if that was a lie. Didn't he love her too? "I don't understand," Sophia sighed and shook her head looking to the ground for a moment. "Together we can do anything. I know a lot has happened lately but that doesn't change my feelings for you."

She backed up a little and crossed her arms across her chest. Sophia wasn't mad at him in the slightest as she was sure that he had his reasons. In her mind they were stupid as in this messed up galaxy didn't they deserve to be happy or just a little comfort after a long day fighting. "I want to be with you Turin but I can't come with you. The Confederacy would love to have you though. You would be welcomed with no questions asked I have spoken with the Grand Marshal about you well without using names." There would be no more running. Sophia wanted to stay right were she was.

The Confederacy? That was who she ran with now? He had heard things about them during his travels...About them and their Templars. But he wasn't ready for battle, for fighting. Not now, and he didn't know if he would be for a long time. And so he stepped forward and gently placed his hand against her cheek, wiping away her tears with his thumb gingerly. Taking a deep breath to begin speaking, he was interrupted by the sounds of sirens from the local authorities. He cursed under his breath and looked to the owner. The owner shrugged his shoulders and waved for him to follow.

Reaching into his pocket he pulled out a communicator and placed it gingerly into Sophia's hands. "If you ever need me. Call on this com. There is only one number, I'll be in touch." Embracing her and kissing her lips softly he dashed off towards the back of the diner. "I love you too Sophia." The words came from him strong, stronger than he thought they would have, and they carried with them the hope that they would see each other face to face again soon.

Tears streamed down Sophia's face as she watched him leave her behind and run at the sound of the alarms. Grasping the comm tightly in her hand she pocketed while wiping the tears from her eyes. Sophia knew what the alarms meant but that didn't mean he couldn't have stayed or taken her with him. She could feel her heart breaking all over again as he dashed away. She needed him beside her especially in times like this. Didn't he need her too? He said he loved her but than why leave? It didn't make sense to her as she believed they could have gotten through all of this together.

Turning from where he left Sophia decided to leave herself as seemingly nothing was left for her here. This was not what she thought when he stated he wished to see her. She thought he would scoop her up in his arms and lie to her. Tell her everything was going to be alright but now the only thing she had was this comm. It wasn't what she wanted but it would have to do. Sighing she took a look back in the cafe before turning forward and heading out the door
