SETTING INFORMATION

  • Structure Name: Stormvale Manor

  • Classification: Homestead / Estate

  • Location: Bastion

  • Affiliation: Taeli Raaf & Fiolette Yvarro (x) (x)

  • Accessibility: Stormvale is a private estate outside of Ravelin. A small speeder parcade sits beside a landing pad which serves as the most direct access to the estate for Taeli and Fio. The estate itself is lightly guarded and holds its own small shield generator for emergency purposes only.

  • Description:
Beautifully rich in history and land, Bastion had been preserved by the Sith Empire for just these reasons and more. Stormvale Manor had been just part of this beautiful history, situated beyond Ravelin the Sith Imperial capital. The Manor, the gardens and the overall land it sat on had been through hard times and was in dire need of repairs, when Taeli and Fiolette came upon the property. It had been taken over by nature, overgrown moss and vines choked life from its stone. Parts of Stormvale’s walls had fallen, spider webs, and creatures of all sorts had come to claim it. The wooden rafters had fallen inward, rot and mold could be seen.

Their agent insisted there were other properties that would better suit their needs. They however disagreed, there was an old world charm to it Fiolette said and Taeli found that the home could be restored and improved.

In between trips to the capital, the couple worked to restore the home piece by piece. It started by tearing away at the rot and saving which could be saved. It was through this that Stormvale began to reveal itself. Much like one would turn the page of a book, so did the history begin to unfold. Historians at heart, the two women sought about collecting important artifacts of Stormvale. Taking what little time they had off to return to the capital seeking to learn more about their property.

The more they learned, the more they wanted to preserve.

Day by day, night after night the two worked tirelessly.

Together with their aides, their crews and select chosen few to help with the work. Stormvale began to shine once more, an elegant home that held Bastion’s history in its heart. Preserved to a museum quality this history now lined Stormvale’s simple halls. No longer would the moss and vines choke the stone, no longer were there fallen pieces of lumber and no more were creatures and critters in the home.

New royal blue carpets lined her floors, the finest and most durable of lumber replaced the rotted wood of the home’s interior. Marble, and granite were now elegantly placed accented by Galidraani and Lorrdian designs.

The Gardens.

The Gardens were a treasure and just as with the Manor, the Gardens too were restored. Statues cleaned and restored, repaired where needed, fountains once more ran with water. The grass slowly returned to a beautiful and lush shade of green. Pruning and trimming worked to bring back the plants that could be saved while new ones were brought in to supplement the gardens.

The pond was cleaned and cleared, water treated and little by little life returned here as well. The bridge was repaired as was the path that goes around the pond. Added amenities include a secluded bath house, the meditation chambers and a gazebo.

SECURITY
Low - Stormvale is lightly guarded there as there are few enough entrances to and from the manor. An emergency shield generator that goes over the property is the extent of the security.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Stormvale Manor hails to an older time for Bastion, erected during the four hundred years of darkness. It served its owners as a home, and eventually a small military school, then a military fortress and eventually it served as a hospital before being used as a school and then a governor’s manor where it was last before being left to rot after the gulag plague.

The home originally consisted of the most forward facing portion, and as it was turned into a military school the more foreboding towers were added. Additional buildings including a barracks, weapons shop, stables, and an eventual garage for ground vehicles had been featured on the property.

Once the property was turned over into a hospital most of these buildings were repurposed when one of the local universities purchased the property from the now out of business hospital system. They too repurposed the buildings this time adding the gardens and several additional buildings to serve as classrooms and laboratories before the university ran out of funding for the project.

A politician proclaiming themselves the Governor would take an interest in the property and began the modernizing project to bring the home back into its original state. Unfortunately, the so-called Governor as it were would fall ill to the gulag plague and rather than infect the home. He secluded himself at one of the local wellspring hospitals where he would eventually die and the home fell into disrepair.

After the Netherworld event, a local real estate company would come to own the property with the intent to refurbish it or sell as is. The company never found anyone who would take it and had been considering selling it to the current government of the Sith Empire. At least that was until Taeli Raaf and Fiolette Yvarro took an interest and purchased the property outright.
