Sticky Politics: Nar Haaska ((PM if you aren't in the faction and want to join))

Nar Haaska

The Yuuzhan Vong occupied the planet for quite some time centuries ago. Since then, members of multiple different species have flocked to live on the neutral world. A small population of humans stood in control of the government in their newly formed Capital City, Druksten.

The Confederacy of Independent Systems extended an invitation for the world to join its generous embrace. The primarily human government happily agreed for the promise of protection, but the alien lower classes, often treated as lesser beings, are afraid of the CIS using the world's ore deposits for its own purposes. The deposits can be found near farmland that had slowly begun to grow stable since the Yuuzhan Vong, but is not quite there yet. Weeks ago, and odd spider like droid landed on the world. A day later, an armed insurrection had risen up against the human government. The humans pleaded to the CIS for assistance in exchange for occupation of the world.

Stuck in a morally gray area, the Grand Marshal opted to send in a specialized unit of Commandos and other military assets in to quell the threat before all out war broke loose--in an attempt to make the CIS look less like a controlling power and more like a subtle older sibling. This unit would be assigned to finding, and eliminating insurrection leader Gal Stutzen, a blue skinned Duros, and the rest of his commanders.

Now, the volunteers and selected soldiers stood within one of the standard LAAT/I gunships in use by the CIS. A stale air permeated through the cramped cabin of the shuttle. The compartment was completely silent: until the shuttle set down upon a massive plateau overlooking one of the lower city. The primary human city, the center of government, Druksten.

Speeders, cattle, and civilians moved in and out of the low walls of the city. The sun was slowly beginning to set; casting an eerie orange light upon the easy going city. Calico stepped off the gunship in full Katarn armor, boots thudding across the dusty, abandoned plateau. "Welcome to paradise boys and girls. Sound off!"

Krest kept his hood up as he stepped onto the plateau, moving after @[member="Commander Calico CC-247"]. A dusty planet was nothing new to the Zabrak, and he only smiled. Another mission, only this time he was a Knight. Oh how interesting this is going to be.

Another misson that was ripe with possible action. Sanna was all over it when calls for volunteers went out. This mission was likely to be a borning one, yet she didn't mind. It was all she could do to get off Bothwuai and off to see more of the galaxy of this time period. So much she'd not had the chance to see as a child of her time and now so much more freedom was a bundant given her time with the Templars. Sitting on the ship with the others Sanna simply sat and waited, her tail sticking down from betwen her legs and wagging a little as they were coming closer to Nar Haaska. All the while she was trying to adjust her armor as some of it felt a little tight. The price when she didn't have clothing of her own, had left her Templar gear behind, and had to wear one of the spare clone armors. An interesting fit on her but still a little snug one.

For some reason a government that Canal never heard of asked the Confederacy for help because of a renegade squad or what was being terrorized. In order for this world to join the CIS then they would have to neutralize the threat so they could show to the government that they could be protected by the Confederacy.

Canal was one of the volunteers for this mission and was immediately sent to a LAAT with Calico commanding the party. It was a long silent ride before they reached the planet that was their destination. After Calico got off the gunship Canal got out and checked his equipment: pistol, rifle, shotgun, knife, and four detonators were loaded and ready to take out the lives of the hostiles. "Waiting for your orders, sir," Canal said to Calico as he waited the others to get off.

Kage kept inside the LAAT. For this mission he was going to stick to the air and provide cover when necessary. Soon as everyone was off, he went back up into the sky, keeping a watchful eye on the group below.

Calico reached up to remove his helmet. The Commander's beard had grown out quite a bit. He set the helmet under his shoulder, and took a whiff of the dry, stale air. Dead as dead could be. This world was valuable, whether it smelled like it or not. They needed to remain covert.

"We need to be quiet. Don't let the civilians know we're on world. Here." Calico shook one of the two brown duffle bags on his shoulders. He plopped them down into the dirt, unzipping both. Piles of worn clothes were in each bag. "We know where the di'kut is. We move in, we slot him, and everyone in his group, we bang out. If you see this droid from the reports, let me know."

The elder clone pointed down at the bags. "Suit up. We leave our kit here."

Given how irratated Sanna was with how tight the armor was on her, to hear she didn't even need it just to swap for rags made her graon before saying "And to think I was starting to get used to this armor. Fine, I'll put the rags instead."

She got up and, so aggrivated by the need to change, didn't bother waiting and just began stripping off her armor. Eventually she was down to the dark purple bra and underwear she'd been wearing underneath. After that she easily slipped everything else on, not really care who did or didn't see. She knew if any of them tried anything they'd answer to her regardless.

Krest chuckled lightly at @[member="Sanna Legra"], shaking his head. "Oh you'll be fine." The Zabrak strips out of his robe, standing topless. For once his robotic limb was plain to see, going all the way up to his shoulder. He pulls the rags over his deep red skin before nodding to @[member="Commander Calico CC-247"]. "Brief me up on the droid yeah?"

(Quick OOC note. No reason to tag both Krest and Kage. I'm both x3)

Sophia had gone undercover before when she had been in the military so this wasn't anything new for her. She knew how to be quiet and sneak up on the enemy. It would be different now though as she was a Templar and not a member of the Navy.

As everyone else changed into their rags Sophia changed herself. It had been a long time since she had done a mission but she was ready for this and quite excited to see what she had learned.

A look at Bluejay's face - it a study in confusion melded with blank shock - would inform the Grand Marshal of her opinion of wearing civvie clothes. You've got to be kidding me...fine. I'm gonna feel naked the whole time, but fine. "Rags it is." She muttered resignedly. "Brilliant." Removing the armor, she stood in the black bodysuit alone for a moment before grabbing a shirt - long-sleeved - and pulled it on. Pants were put on next. Then the Mirialan clone yanked her hair unceremoniously out of its tight braid and let it hang around her face. Combing it carefully with her fingers to achieve a tangled effect, her hair now hung down past her shoulders, a little in front of her face.

Peaceful, neutrality, no fighting. This wasn't part of Zius' M.O. Going undercover wasn't something he was particularly enthralled with, but he'd figure he could do just fine without blaring his appearance and rocking his lightsaber as if it were a playtoy wielded by a rambunctious child. His lightsaber was his most favored possession after all.
Zius stood just a few feet away from Calico and the others, observing the foreign land he hadn't explored yet.

"I don't believe wearing that would be necessary for myself, it'd defeat the purpose of showing off for the commoners, hm? Besides, it's not like a little war-scruff ever caused some simpleton to run screaming in fear. Think of me as the peacekeeper here."

He flashed a cold smirk at everyone else and the commander. His blade-tipped fingers glistened in the setting sun with an eerie, dull glow of a dark presence.

A short laugh escaped Calico at Bluejay's distaste. This wouldn't be an easy operation. No one could know they were even on the planet--let alone slotting the leader of a morally correct movement. Calico followed the lead of his people, hiding his Katarn armor in a large warren under one of the nearby rocks. He motioned for others to put their items there.

"Don't draw attention to yourselves." He grunted as he slipped on a long black cloak akin to what a Jedi might wear. His DC-15s were slid under the cloak and clipped to his belt. The rest of the outfit consisted of gray cargo pants, faded black combat boots, and a black undershirt. Calico looked more like a street-side thug than a seasoned veteran.

"You've read the mission details. You know what you've jumped into. We -cannot- be identified. No one in this man's command structure can live." The Commander searched deeper into the warren. All was silent for a moment, until the sound of a vehicle's drives rumbled out from the warren.

A few seconds later, and Calico rode out atop a chestnut brown skiff: something the CIS had borrowed from the nearby Hutts. A massive sail hung over it, along with basic seating and a Djarrik table. Nothing to fancy. "We're traders scouting the city for our convoy. I have the man's location. We drive in, slot his people as quietly as possible, and ex-fill. Any questions?" The Skiff's gangplank extended as he finished his little speech.

"Zi'ika...sure, whatever. Just don't slot the whole city, alright ner'vod?"

Krest kept his blade underneath some rags he fashioned into a belt. His hand kept close to the sabers hilt, and he looked around to the group. His head was wrapped up almost entirely, his eyes being the only thing seen. He follows after Calico, motioning to @[member="Sophia Walsh"]. "Keep up and keep close. We'll use this to see if we can get you to affect some minds."

"Quick and quiet." Sanna said. "Got it, cheif."

The cat girl even gat a little salute before unboarding with the rest of the group. She kept her hood up and her tail tucked uner the robes as not to throw off anything. She put gloves and boots on to help keep the disguise of her being human, even letting some of her hair hang out of the hood. As long as they didn't know she was some type of hybrid they'd be fine. She wasn't even sure if news had spread to this place of her exisistance yet but best not to risk it given the conditions od the mission.

"Yessir." Sooner this is over with the happier I'll be. Let's go shoot some nutjobs. I'm gonna miss that helmet before this is all over. Sighing once through her nose, she hid her pistol in the boot and waited for the gangplank to extend fully. This would be one to add to the recordbooks, even if nothing went wrong.

Sophia nodded to @[member="Kest"] as she got off with the rest of the group. She was used to being in charge on a mission so this was very different for her however she found at the moment she rather liked it. Quick and quiet sounded easy enough. "Mind Games?" She looked to Kest in hopes as that sounded like a worth ability to have.

If she could change the minds of some of the politicians that she worked with that would be quite nice though she doubted using it on them was proper. It was a nice thought however.

"What if they don't buy our disguise? Do we have a back up plan?" The young woman by nature was a strategist and liked to have her ducks in a row. She had learned the hard way actually that you always needed a plan b.

Right. This is an undercover mission. He took off his armor and put on the worn clothes that Calico took. Well you gotta what you gotta do. Canal smelled the clothes and man they marking stink. "Sir, please tell me that you washed these. Cause it stinks more than dead rancor." He only took his pistol and knife since they didn't want any attention. Thankfully, he had his sunglasses in his armor and put on them on. He waited for the others so they could move out and get this over with.

Light brown eyes behind dark glasses examined his comrades before him as they discussed the clothing needed for the mission, among other things including the mission itself. Oron recalled the notes sent by the Grand Marshall explaining the situation, as well as the profiles of everyone else whom volunteered. As a member of the Illuminati, the Templar Knight didn't work with members of the faction outside of his division very often, especially in more large scale conflicts. Oron, however didn't mind breaking the norm to interact with his comrades whenever possible and try to make connections outside of his division. The word "interacting" seemed to have a different meaning to Oron as he continuously sat in a well of Force Concealment until he finally dropped it to reveal his existence. He only hoped it wouldn't weird anyone out. To any whom looked his way he exchanged polite nods, as he looked ahead to the engagement of the mission. Subterfuge happened to be a favorite among Oron's hobbies.

Krest rolled his shoulders. "Well, my back up plan is that they'll be easily susceptible to mind tricks." The Zabrak shook his head a bit, a small smile on his lips. "That way we wont have to worry about them recognizing us."

(Sorry I took so long to post! RL Stuff.))

The rusted, previously owned skiff drifted a few meters above the dusty ground. It rumbled and lurched as everyone climbed aboard: likely not the most stable thing. It did, however, look the part. "We do, ma'am. Two plans to be exact."

Calico pulled back on the ignition, sending the Skiff hurtling down a dusty road down toward the city. He kept an eye on the stranger who seemed to have just appeared out of nowhere. The Illumnati were an unpredictable, dangerous bunch that certainly didn't report to Calico. "Two teams. You'll both insert into the city. There are two primary locations." He paused as an eclectic group of vehicles fell in on either side of the Skiff. "One, our man's home district. Two, a shipping company near the center of the city. If intel is right--which it may not be--they should be meeting in the next half an hour."

Low city walls greeted the Skiif as it joined a much longer line of vehicles. Pedestrians flowed in and out of walkways: some selling fruits and other goodies on the side of the road, others simply begging for rides. "I'll lead Alpha team, Krest will lead Beta. I have a Commando team already inserted into the city, Sigma Squad, you may run into them." He paused once more as they drifted through the gates.

For a planet with a rebel insurrection, security is oddly loose.

"To put it simply, if our target isn't in one location, he'll be in the other. If we're discovered, we shoo into the sky, cause collateral damage, and hopefully they think we're pirates." His tone was calm and in charge. That never wavered. "If not, then the CIS loses this world. This operation is on your shoulders people...don't let me down. Krest, pick your people, I'll take whoever is left. My boys and girls will head for the warehouse."
