SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Able to offer self-repairing qualities to surfaces to which it has been applied, enabling them to continue at a working, serviceable condition far longer than usual, barring any serious damage or intense wear and tear.
  • Able to change between pre-set colors using an electrical impulse to change between programmed colors.
  • Able to offer notable resistance to blasters and similar weapons, lightsabers, and against EMP/Ion, electrical, radiation, and corrosive threats.
  • Additional additive of reflec (beyond the variety used in programmable paint) enables for casual frustration of general sensors and scanners, though not quite to the level of full reflec coating.
STRENGTHS:
  • Provides excellent protection against blasters and lightsabers (and similar weapons), as well as electrical, EMP/Ion, radiation, or corrosive substances.
  • Enables users to change colors over time, allowing them to disguise items to which it has been applied.
  • Provides limited self-repair qualities to items to which it has been applied, enabling them to repair normal wear and tear.
  • Absorbital and other materials included in the manufacture of this paint allows items to be able to take a lot of punishment, extending the self-repair capabilities barring truly significant or prolonged damage.
  • Able to frustrate general scanners and sensors, though to a lesser degree than full reflec coatings, helping to enhance stealthiness.
WEAKNESSES:
  • The self-repairing qualities of the ‘Everlast’ are limited to gradual repair of items to which this paint has been applied, but cannot rapidly repair damage meaning that significant or prolonged damage or intensive wear and tear will require more traditional methods to make repairs, making the StealthGuard useless beyond normal levels of wear and tear.
  • The paint can only be limited to four pre-set color variations, and unlike other programmable paint, can require some time to effectively change color, usually 1-2 standard hours, meaning that color change cannot be achieved swiftly on the fly.
  • Due to the nature of absorbital, the paint can – and likely will – take on thermal energy, so if used on equipment, ships, droids, etc. which do not have heat sinks or similar technologies, the protected item will grow increasingly hot raising risks of overheating and other damage, such as raising temperatures inside ships, etc.
  • This material is costly and time-consuming to make, leading to very limited production, and thus cannot be provided in amounts to cover large vessels (not more than 200m) and other similarly large items.
  • Offers no protection against kinetic damage.
  • Offers no protection against sonic damage.
  • Offers no protection against Force Abilities, including Forcesabers.
DESCRIPTION
Programmable Paint has been around for some time, and has always been a solid choice for those wishing to better disguise various items. Segroth Materials Corporation sought to enhance these types of material even further, adding Malreaux Reactive Lacquer, NeuroCoat 'Everlast', Norris Root Dye, Absorbital, and a second variety of reflec to the paint, as well as its own PGA Coating material. Though the result was less potent than had originally been hoped for, it was a significant advancement to this existing technology.

Able to offer excellent protection against a variety of threats and to permit gradual and ongoing repair to normal wear and tear, the paint is a terrific choice for armor, droids, various systems, and even small ships by users wishing to increase durability and serviceability of these items. Additionally, they offer low-grade stealth enhancement by thwarting general scanners and sensors, as well as enabling ships to better disguise themselves to avoid detection.

OOC:
Permissions and Stealth Compliance –
All items, other my own PGA Coating material, used for this submission are ‘open-market’ and ‘minor or mass-production’ materials, or else found as canon items in Wookiepedia (Please see links to verify), therefore not requiring stated permissions as per-submission guidelines; and further – to align with Factory Rules – this submission was set to ‘semi-unique’ as it is stealth technology.

[OOC - Segroth PGA Coating removed from this submission 9/16/2019 per Factory Suggestion]
