STRENGTHS

• Brawler: The Steadfast-class Star Destroyer excels at fighting other capital ships, especially at close to medium range where its heavy turbolasers and ion cannons can chew through hulls and shields respectively like a knife through butter.
• Thick Skin: Heavily shielded and armored, a Steadfast requires a serious punishment to bring down.
• Flagship: All Steadfasts are equipped with long-range comms arrays capable of handling multiple frequencies at once, allowing them to serve as effective flagships for fleets of smaller warships.

WEAKNESSES

• The Little Guys: The Steadfast has a small point-defense network for a ship of its size, making it vulnerable to attack from starfighters or boarding craft if caught without an escort. Its small hangar similarly limits the Star Destroyer's ability to intercept small craft.
• Turns Like a Bantha: Steadfasts are cumbersome vessels that are incapable of making quick maneuvers.

DESCRIPTION

Heavily armed and armored, the Steadfast-class Star Destroyer firmly fits the role of a battleship designed to pierce deep into the heart of an enemy fleet. Though lacking any superheavy or exotic weapons, the Steadfast more than makes up for this loss with an enormous amount of heavy turbolasers and heavy ion cannons. Further bolstered by faster-firing quad turbolasers for engaging medium targets, the Steadfast possesses enough firepower to easily shred smaller warships into a pulp.

Steadfasts are not only well-armed but also well-armored, equipped with a thick armored hull full of redundant systems and multilayered deflector shields. Even its engines and comms towers are covered in armor plating, denying an attacker any obvious weak point to focus on. The Steadfast-class is also notable for being the first Alge Imperial warship to incorporate the RD-XD7 Adaptive Shield Augment, offering significant resistance to energy leech weapons so long as its outer ion shields remain intact.

Despite its excellent performance against other capital ships, Steadfast commanders are advised to bring along escort ships due to its light point-defense armament and small hangar space making it ineffective at fighting starfighters. A Steadfast paired with a small group of escort craft make a great pairing, with the Steadfast punishing larger capital ships that could threaten the escorts while they destroy starfighters and missile swarms that the Star Destroyer would struggle to hit alone.
