Hi everyone!
This month has seen a lot of positive things. We officially have the army and navy fleshed out and operational, thanks to [member="Caid Centurion"]’s hard work and dedication — with the help of outstanding members like [member="Gir Quee"] and [member="Camellia Swift"]. [member="Friedrich Stahlmann"] even initiated the first naval specific skirmish! And it appears to be going well for all those involved.
Another faction-wide accomplishment is the smooth elections we held for the government’s restructure. To summarize, we removed the position of Supreme Chancellor — which was a single person having complete control — and broke it up to a triumvirate government.
Your new IC leaders are:
Chief of Government - [member="Aurelia Saelari"]
Chief of Senate - [member="Alena Beswin"]
The Chief of Military will be Caid Centurion. We’re looking forward to seeing what you politicians rustle up!
As for threads, there have been a multitude of member-driven missions and development threads. I think this is one of the most important points — it’s really awesome to log in and see new threads being created by Republic members that are actually really cool and make me want to join them! You’re all putting the action in Faction! It’s super encouraging, and I want to thank all you writers, old and new, for collaborating to make The Republic a place of stories. Let’s keep it up. (PS. There have been a lot of new writers this month -- welcome! Please visit this page to see who to talk to if you have questions both OOC and IC.)
— This month, the One Sith engaged The Republic on Zeltros in a skirmish. This is the first of many upcoming engagements with our primary enemy, and so far no casualties on our PC end! (Props to those fighting the leviathan.....). With this threat on our doorstep, and threatening to come in, now is the time to keep our friends and allies close. The Protectorate is working to get us a new flag ship — a recreation and update of the Watts class and The Mandalorians have a new Mando’ade who is also interested in conversation. We’ll keep you posted on that!
Also, as members have brought up concern about the Anaxes capitol this is being addressed. I’m mentioning this pointedly because if you, the members, have concerns and want to make this faction better, we do listen, and we do act.
All the best guys, and hope everyone is enjoying the holidays so far (I know I’m enjoying the carousel of Corvus sweaters).
