There was a palpable feeling of excitement aboard the Totem of Discovery, engineers and soldiers buzzed about the great ship as if it was one massive hive, all moving in the direction of the Meeting Hall. A meeting had been called by the Admiral and the Captain's Council, it was no mystery what this meeting would be about, it was staring at them out the window after all. A new galaxy, filled with wonders, life, and civilizations that many aboard the ship could dream of, none aboard had even seen a planet outside of recordings or images stored within the ship's databanks. So as civilian and soldier alike funneled into the massive steel room, a simple standing space on one half with a grandiose stage dominating the other flanked by two massive deep blue banners depicting the star associated with their journey, there was a hum of excited chatter as even the most stoic could not help but let a little excitement boil over at the thought of finally completing their centuries-long mission. The journey into the meeting hall was not disorganized, however, with soldiers and civilians filling into large formations each belonging to a different department of the ship. Security, engineering, science teams, military personnel, and even the tiniest RAPTR squads all had their own little area to get into formation to await the Admiral to come out and begin his speech.

They would not have to wait long.

About five minutes after the last formation welcomed its latest arrivals a man would step onto the stage. He was middle-aged, his black hair peppered with grays that showed his age and emphasized the rank displayed on his navy blue uniform decorated with the occasional medal of service. The entire room would come to attention at his mere presence, and as he took the podium he would wave dismissively and the whole room would relax once again. Admiral Athenna had been serving as Admiral for nearly thirty years now, and he was well-liked by the crew of the ship. He was fair, patient, and kind but expected the most out of everyone aboard the ship and did not tolerate the lazy or self-centered. Taking a second to look down at his notes the admiral would pause, before looking up and addressing the crew with his usual stoic persona.

"Today.. Today is a day of decisions. I'm sure you've noticed but we have finally, after centuries, arrived at our destination. We know very little of this place, how we'll be welcomed, what civilizations exist here, what strange technologies may be levied against us, and what new allies we may make, but we do know what we are here for a reason. Our mission has not changed since our ancestors left their homes, and they passed that mission down the generations to us to continue. Colonize this galaxy, settle it and find out if this is truly where our people came from. To find out if our ancestors and us were not the first of our species to make that grand journey through the abyss. Already the Captain's Council is preparing plans of how to best do this, from deploying our RAPTR teams to discover all they can about this alien world we find ourselves into the engineering divisions coming together to begin repurposing the many support ships into true colonial vessels. We have a lot of work ahead, and we will take our first steps cautiously but with the spirit of curiosity that has been passed down to us. I expect the most of you all in the coming weeks and months, we have a mission, and I'm sure you're finally ready to get to work-"

He would pause his speech as the room would erupt into cheers and celebration, a smile spreading over his lips as the thousands of crew before him finally let out the pent-up energy they had been saving for this very moment.

C'il was undoubtedly with the masses on this, the excitement could be felt coming off of her and those around her. Mixed with some level of anxious. Yes, it was new, it was incredible, it was something that naturally she'd waited and hoped to see for a long time. And they were finally on that verge. Of an entire new type of existence in a way, when all you know is ships, it makes even a single world seem so vastly fascinating.

And then came the Admiral. She listened intently, watching him as he spoke. They were entering an unknown, but with a mission. Colonize and learn. They might be under attack, maybe not. But things weren't necessarily getting any easier. The engineers were mentioned, of whom she was one, getting the support ships ready for their new purpose. And Work, caution, and curiosity. As he ended his speech she was just like everyone else in the cheering, clapping her hands together as she did so. Though she had to flinch a little shaking her hand. She hadn't had the synth-flesh on the cybernetic hand, hit a little bit more painfully than she'd have liked.

She was looking forward to this. Admittedly, there was a lot to work on before that would come to pass. But she was ready to help in every way she could.
