A Pyke Standard Coaxium Guard.
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To protect the interests of Standard Coaxium.
  • Role: A garrison of troops exclusively loyal to my character and his company.
  • Permissions: N/A
  • Links: Standard Coaxium, Pyke Syndicate, Pyke
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Unit Name: Standard Coaxium Security Troopers
  • Affiliation: Standard Coaxium
  • Classification: Security Troopers
  • Description: Standard Coaxium’s security department employs a force of efficient and effective guards. These guards can be distinguished by the brown longcoats they wear over their metal body armor emblazoned with the SC insignia. A majority of the SC Guards are Pykes, but this is hardly universal. There are also significant numbers of Human, Rodian, and Zabrak guards as well. SC guards are well-equipped, and receive training in the use of a variety of weapons.
COMBAT INFORMATION:
  • Unit Size: Small
  • Unit Availability: Uncommon
  • Unit Experience: Trained
  • Equipment:
  • Combat Function: Standard Coaxium Guards are mostly found guarding SC mines, refineries, and other areas of interest. SC Guards are selected for vigilance, and are thus very difficult to sneak past. They are trained in both melee combat and long-range shooting, but prefer the latter. Unlike many blaster-wielding soldiers, SC Guards are trained to understand the concepts of taking cover and aiming at eye-level.
  • Force Abilities (Force User Units Only): N/A
Strengths:
  • Dependable: Standard Coaxium Guards are loyal to the company, and can be trusted to get the job done.
  • Vigilant: Standard Coaxium Guards are selected for their observational capacity, and quick reflexes.
  • Jedi-Resistant: A number of factors combine to make Standard Coaxium Guards unusually equipped for battling force-users. Their quick reflexes, training with electrostaves/scatterguns, and knowledge of firefight tactics means that a group of SC Guards can fend off (and potentially even kill) a Jedi. A Jedi would definitely win in a 1 on 1 fight, though.
Weaknesses:
  • Inexperienced: While Standard Coaxium Guards have very useful training, they are not battlefield soldiers. This means they do not encounter hostiles on a regular basis, and are this less able to deal with them when they do.
  • Obstructive To Allies: As a necessity of Standard Coaxium’s arrangement with the Pyke Syndicate, SC Guards often have to work with Syndicate troops. To say that they do not get along well would be a massive understatement. The SC Guards view their Syndicate counterparts as interlopers, who should respect Standard Coaxium’s remaining semi-independence. The Syndicate troops view SC Guards as obsolete holdovers who should be fully assimilated into the Pyke Syndicate. This lack of synergy hampers both groups when they work together.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Originally, the Standard Coaxium security department started off as just 7 people and a lazy Mastiff. This was all the way back when the corporation consisted of a single mine. Karpel Excaan figured he needed some additional security when his mine began yielding a surprising amount of Coaxium. They have since expanded into a well-managed and professional force.

When the Pyke Syndicate acquired Standard Coaxium, the SC Guards were allowed to continue existing as their own organization. However, due to escalating tension with Syndicate forces, Syndicate leadership is considering disbanding them.
