SPECIAL FEATURES

Unremarkable at first glance, this staff is very simple in its construction. However, the additional Kyber components alongside use of meditative force techniques in its construction give this weapon something special. On either side of the staff, near the large pommels, are kyber crystals that have been shaped and built into the durasteel. Naturally flowing with the force and attuned to the staff through The Force during its construction, these crystals have imbued the staff with a resilience beyond the materials it has been constructed with. Able to resist lightsaber strikes and hold up against strikes on armor in combat - this staff is a reliable weapon for any Guardian of the Whill who is trained in its use.

These kyber crystals also act as the conduit from which a use can focus their Force powers. This focusing does not strengthen or weaken the attacks from what the user is naturally capable of - rather it acts as a way for users without formalized force training to more easily manifest their power into the physical world. It many respects the staff acts just as any other technique in summoning The Force would (I.E Dathomiri Magic, Sith Sorcery, etc).

Strengths:
  • Resistant to repeated use
  • Resistant to lightsaber strikes
  • Can ease the user's connection to The Force
  • A well balanced agility weapon
Weaknesses:
  • Is unable to cut or pierce
  • While able to be moved quickly, the staff's length can be come disadvantage in tight spaces
  • Unable to deflect blaster bolts
  • Difficult to recreate or repair if damage due to material requirements
DESCRIPTION
Staves of similar design have been used throughout history by the Guardians of the Whills, dating back to their original incarnation as the defenders of Jedah's Holy City. Kyber was an exceedingly rare resource and for most of the Guardians history they were giving it to the Jedi, using it for religious practice or having it stolen by the Galactic Empire. It wasn't until the founding of Kyber Temples across the galaxy that Kyber was more readily accessible. Still, the religious and spiritual connection the Guardians feel towards the crystals makes them hesitant to use them in large quantities.

Thus, staves imbued with the crystals are a rare sight - reserved primarily for important roles in the Order. This staff particular was created for use by Phaiden Maez for his role as Gatekeeper of the Kro Var Temple. Heavy enough to be a dangerous blunt-force weapon but light and balanced enough for agile fighting, this staff can be used as both an effective offense and defense weapon. The crystals throughout the staff, while powerful, do not offer much in the way of practicality other than strengthening the weapon's resilience and offering a conduit through which to summon The Force. The latter of the two uses being only necessary to compensate for Guardian's lacking true force training.

As this can 'enhance' or ease the users connection to the force, this should be referenced in the strengths of the item.

Otherwise good to go.
