The crystal is said to be the 'heart' Dathka Graush replaced his biological heart with. The crystal holds within it terrible dark powers. The secrets to the perfected sith spell Tsaiwinokka Hoyakut, or Reanimate Dead, are held within the crystal heart of Dathka Graush. Whomever wields this staff, will be blessed with those secrets and are capable of summoning and controlling the undead.
