Valley of the Lost

This ancient valley was once home to many graves dedicated to the former rulers and heroes of Squinos II. Built thousands of years before the Jedi founded the Temple on the planet, the once impressive valley was similar to Korriban in having tombs to their former leaders. However, these tombs were not raided and since the large desert swept through the planet they have been all but lost. It could take years to excavate the valley to find all the tombs and what laid in them. However, some of the larger tombs remain close to the surface and have yet to be explored due to the intense heat that the planet suffers.

Signus City

Signus City was the largest city on the planet, though not the capital, which before the destruction of the planet was Hulafraf. It was a sprawling city with lots of financial from the nearby Jedi Temple, which pulled in visitors and tourists. After the desert swept the planet, most of the cities were destroyed beyond repair or buried under all the sand. The Jedi were looking to secure Signus City in a bubble to remove the sand and restart populating the planet as the destruction did not look to be permanent. However, as time went on the planet split more and more and it seemed unlikely to recover.

Jedi Temple

The Jedi Temple had the unfortunate location of being near the split of the planet, this meant that it slipped into the dangerous area of the planet with the sprawling lava and constant movement of land and rivers of lava. The temple is now darkened with ash and the entire once serene garden view is something a Sith Lord would call paradise. There is a smell of sulphur that hangs in the air and the intense heat that comes from the planet is enough to make even the most daredevil of looters second guess raiding the temple. Much of the history and information of the planet was stored in data holocrons in the temple's library, it is unknown if these have survived. These could explain what the planet once was like and why the Jedi made a temple here.

Station Syginus

Station Syginus was founded soon after the planet was split in half. It was constructed by the Jedi while they worked on a solution to save the planet and prevent any further harm being caused. However, over the following years the decay of the planet had increased rapidly, with sandstorms covering the planet in deserts and the splitting widening. So, the Jedi left the station in the hands of people who wished to live on the station and extract the fuel that was erupting from the planet's core. This fuel kept the station afloat and provided a healthy income. However, due to no official government and basic police enforcement, crime started becoming rife on the station and soon gangs moved in. Taking over the serene and peaceful station. This cause many residents who had grown up on the planet outrage and upset. Many of whom were put down and made a show of, that was the start of the oppressive rule.

POPULATION
  • Native Species: N/A
  • Immigrated Species: Humans, Twi'leks, Rodians and Trandoshians
  • Population: Minimally populated
  • Demographics: 40% Humans, 23% Twi'leks, 17% Rodians, 16% Trandoshians and 4% others
  • Primary Languages: Galactic Standard Basic
  • Culture: Most of the culture has been lost due to the fact the planet is now considered dead. With space station orbiting the planet used to travel to the planet and extract the fuel sources that is now spilling from the core. The space station has different cultures and is a hub of activity with no faction controlling the planet it is a wealth of black market trade and illegal activity. When the Jedi were in charge of the planet and the space station soon after the death of the planet, it was a safe haven and there was often peaceful talks and teachings given out to potential Force Users.
GOVERNMENT & ECONOMY
  • Government: No official government controls the planet
  • Affiliation: It falls under Silver Jedi Order territory but not been controlled by them for awhile
  • Wealth: Medium, though the planet rarely sees people visiting it or staying on the surface there is a large number of market shops and trades going on in the space station in orbit of the planet. These trades might be illegal but also are often high profit for the traders.
  • Stability: Low with the number of illegal on goings. The planet is always unable in of itself. However, the station could be rectified and stability could return to the planet if someone was to remove the crime from the planet. This could take time but would not be impossible with many living residents tired of the oppressive treatment that black markets bring.
  • Freedom & Oppression: Highly oppressive with crime lords constantly fighting for control and dictating the way that the station will be run.

MILITARY & TECHNOLOGY

  • Military: There is no formal military with vigilante justice carried out by a small group of residents wanting to rid themselves of the many gangs roaming the station.
  • Technology: They are as technologically advanced as the rest of the galaxy at large.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The planet was settled by humans several thousand years before the battle of Yavin. It was a grassy, lush land of a planet, with mountains of snowy peaks and gentle winds. There were rivers and oceans that were clear and full of fish. It was perfect planet for settlement and quickly moved from a colony planet to big industrial cities. Population rapidly increased and there was influx of other alien species moving to this serene planet. The Jedi founded the temple on the planet a century or so after the first few major cities were built. They constructed the temple on the request of the people who feared with the Sith planet Dromund Kaas so close to them that there might be a Sith invasion. However, the Jedi were able to maintain peace and their temple was designed to reflect the serene and calming nature that the planet had.

Then the Netherworld Event happened. After that event, a blue giant star popped into existence near the brown dwarf star. The delicate binary system of the solar system gave Squinos II its grassy plains and warm weather. However, with the sudden introduction of a new star, while it was roughly halfway between the original two stars. It was pulled by two strong and equal gravitational pulls, causing the planet to slow down and halt its orbit around the stars. This tug of war between the stars also started stretching the planet, eventually causing a crack. From that crack there was a deep split with debris flying out into space. Knocking off some of the ice and rock in the ring around the planet and ash to pollute the sky. Once the Jedi evacuated the entire planet's population, they examined the damage.

It seemed minimal at first, something that could be repaired. There was even talk of attempting to move the planet closer to Hekius, the red giant. However, the damage had been done and it didn't take long for deeper cracks to form and more planet debris to shoot off. It took a decade or so before the Jedi finally admitted defeat and named Squinos II a dead planet. The water had evaporated from the oceans and rivers due to the heat from the three stars and heat from molten core being exposed. Sandstorms destroyed cities and buried the history of the world. Many people watched in horror as their home planet was taken from them, even station ended up not being the safe haven that was promised to those that remained. Due to the lack of strong government, many gangs saw a chance to create a criminal underworld on the station and use it as a filter to import illegal goods and sell them with little to no risk.

This lasted numerous years before residents of the station grew tired of being taken advantage and fought back. Their fight was short lived with the major gang, the Exchange, murdering the leaders of this rebellion and their families. Oppressing the people, the gangs took charge of the station, removing the police force and started fighting for control after the Exchange fell on the station. This infighting amongst the gangs caused residents to once again take justice into their own hands. Slowly they fought back, now leaving the station in a fight between the gangs and this vigilante group of residents.

Love it. Absolutely awesome use of the Netherworld event finale. A couple of things:

The X/Y coordinates go the other way. 20, 9 is in SJO territory; 9, 20 is beside the Galactic Alliance.

Please use standard Codex image citation format.

Thanks! Glad you like it, so annoyed I mixed my coordinates up. Could I ask which image needs correct citation? Just I was sure I found the sites best I could. Though the planet one was a real struggle

The Codex usually asks for the name of the image and artist for any displayed image - so the broken planet would be the only one that needs that.

Added titles and origins best I could. Two of the locations came from a film and a game, so I used the director for the film but could find lead animator if you rather that and the game I used the company's name as there were lists of various artists from what I could find. Hopefully this should be a-okay now! Thanks for your patience!
