Description: Springbuck's Fortune is a stygium mining and refinement facility on the planet of Enigma Prime. The tectonic activity of the world called for a more robust solution than the usual tunnel systems, which would be at high risk of collapse under the pressure of constant plate shifts.

In its stead Mr. Springbuck -- the Foreman of the facility -- designed something rather... different. The Fortune is a spire of sorts that digs deep into a naturally formed crevice on Enigma Prime itself, thick durasteel beams connect the initial facility inland with smaller spires, made out of materials that are known for their high tensile strength.

All of this in an attempt to allow the spire to essentially bend, instead of break, whenever a shift occurs on the continent it resides in.

Yet, the spire does not only descend into the depths of the planet, instead also going up to touch the skies themselves... somewhat. It is here that the daily administration and running of the facility is done; the Foreman has his office at the top of the spire, a small barracks for the security personnel, a general-purpose cafeteria and even a small-scale movie theater can also be found in the top levels of the structure. Safety, security, but also entertainment for the workers who spend most of their time on-site.

From there, the lower you go, the more hands-on the production gets. You have the storage facilities that hold all the stygium crystals, which is followed by the meat of the operation: the refineries and mining levels.

The upper corridors are neat, straight-forward and wholly utilitarian, focused entirely on maximizing the utility they can get from their 'limited' amount of space. But the farther down the go, the more run-down the area becomes, signifying how the lower levels care little about the looks. As long as it works.

Other than that the Fortune has been stocked with the usual services a decentralized and mostly independent facility such as this one needs.

A medical wing, a comm relay station for communications off-site, hangar stations and docking platforms for ships coming in and out (one of which is semi-permanently reserved for the Helix Syndicate under [member="Pollux"] for their scheduled shipments).

History: The story of Springbuck's Fortune begins with the aforementioned Foreman, Nigel Springbuck, a budding engineer hailing from the general area of the Tion Cluster. A man of little social skills, much experience in the engineering field and a hunger for capital, the Tionese human set off to find his fortune in the Galaxy proper. Long days and nights were toiled working on the many ships passing through and from Koensayr Manufacturing, reputable for their resilient designs.

Though he did not earn much in the way of money, he learned about people. How they ticked, how they skimmed and more importantly, how to get what was his. One day an 'accident' happened in the workplace, regulations had not been followed and the threat of court action was pursued.

At the end of the week Springbuck came away with a modest influx of sums and completely cut ties with his former employers. Now once again free, the Tionese gentleman set out to the frontier of the Outer Rim. The rumors of a world filled to the brink with stygium was alluring to a man with much ambition and little stomach for competition.

After the fall of the Red Ravens Nigel managed to acquire a sizeable plot of land on the formally criminal-owned world and immediately struck... gol- crystals. Utilizing a propriety design of his own making he funneled the previously acquired money from the Koensayr lawsuit and constructed his hopes and dreams.

Springbuck's Fortune.

Yet, fortune comes in many ways and for different people. One day a genuine workplace accident occurred and Nigel found himself in need of fresh prosthetic. He had little in the way of money; all his funds being tied up with the facility and it had not yet become profitable for him, so he took on debt.

Lots of it.

And the piper came collecting, right when a certain Sith began to peck around as well.

Stuck between an anvil and the hammer, Nigel chose to sign away the ownership of the facility, but with the guarantees that he'd still be fulfilling a leadership role within the operations.

Intent: To establish one of Tai Fa's holdings in the Galaxy.
