Kessel, The Kessel Royal Palace, Midday | How We Do It

Sekhmet was glaring at angels.

Not true angels, of course, stylized, petrified ones. All around her, Sovereignty workers moved, various hovering carts filled with unspeakable treasures and resources pushed and pulled throughout the palace. Things had gone well with their domination of Kessel, the planet was now squarely a vassal of the Sovereignty. The Royal Family was disposed, their numbers and supporters scattered, and the spice mines firmly under the control of her government.

Then why did it feel as though they had forgotten something? Neglected a fact?

The throne had already been removed, probably to be liquidated or sold at auction to a collector. So now it was just an empty dais, with two angelic statues, each one reaching for the rays of sun that trickled in through high-vaulted windows. The glass looked to be as thin as lace, crystal surfaces refracting the glow around the room expertly. Sekhmet's tail swished impatiently in the air, her hands in fists and on her hips as she stood square, thinking.

Technically, she was here awaiting the arrival of the Lord Admiral. She'd drawn the short straw, and was to inform him of AECO performance during the coup and to also report on the progress of dismantling the lavish castle to better meet Sovereignty standards. But, still, curiosity killed the cat, didn't it? And there was something tipping off her gut that led her to think there was more to this room-- And those statues, in particular --than met the eye.

"You," Her gold eyes flicked over to a worker passing by with a rather hefty set of tools on his cart, "Leave that here. Has anyone else tried removing the angels?"

The timid worker glanced up and nodded eagerly to the Saorsa as he left his cart near the steps up, regarding her with an interested expression, "No, ma'am. We don't have a feasible way of getting them out without damaging the structure."

"Right. Carry on. I'll return the tools when I'm done."

Lord Admiral Zedd Harkor
The Royal Palace of Kessel, Kessel

A Phi-class Multi-Purpose Transport Shuttle, escorted by an appropriately-sized air wing, roared across the sunset sky of Kessel, a course set for the illustrious Royal Palace of Kessel that was now being stripped of any potential spoils of war.

It was another successful operation. The Sovereignty was placed firmly in control of Kessel. The supporters of the once royal family were scattered and incapable of retaliating. Any justification for retaining the former parliament was in taters, with all key members of the line extinct. Harkor dwelled on his successes in the main passenger hold of the Phi-class; he was accompanied by a suitable retinue of AECO Operators.

In due time, the shuttle landed in the main plaza of the Royal Palace, with the air wing backing off as they began to perform patrol runs around the wide area. With the dissipation of hydraulic gas, the shuttle ramp leading into the inner shuttle began to descend. Before the Lord Admiral would make his presence officially known, a retinue of AECO operators bursted down the ramp and took to covering it, as the Lord Admiral, in an inverse fashion, took his nonchalant, formal walk down the ramp, as he could see for himself the dismantling and depriving of any obvious treasures and spoils of war on Kessel.

There was just one thing.

The angels. As estimated and articulated from several intelligence teams, the use of the statues of the Angels were thought to withhold none other than the incredibly rare and efficient resource of impervium. This made these statues a strategic resource of extreme importance and value. It was a fitting depiction of a creature so prized, for a resource so valuable. It could be noted that the majority of the retinue of Zedd Harkor had actually gone to secure the premises of the statue, escorting off any dawdling workers and forming a circumferential formation checkpoint around it. Harkor himself saw the short end of the straw, Sekhmet Sahang, as he approached the Saorsa, he spoke; "Ms. Sahang-", spoke Harkor, reaching in front of her to meet with a handshake; "Lord Admiral Zedd Harkor.", spoke he, introducing himself, "I assume the deprivation of the treasures of Kessel are proceeding in an efficient manner?"
