United Industrial Speederboat (Marine Speederbike)
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
- Intent: To create a futuristic jet ski for use in slice-of-life roleplay.
- Image Source: Chrysler Synthesis Desktop Graphics
- Canon Link: Speederboat
- Permissions: Original Lore
- Primary Source: Speederboat
- Manufacturer: United Industrial (United Trade Authority)
- Affiliation: Anyone
- Market Status: Open-Market - May be used by any character without permission from the Manufacturer
- Model:
- Modularity: Yes. Modular with other speederboat models, and even with speederbike engine and repulsorlift parts.
- Production: Mass-Produced. Anyone.
- Material: It is actually just three giant pieces of aluminum that have been carefully polished, sanded, and structured, then welded together into one joint. The seats, trim, and backmount seat are made of plasteel. Despite its simple materials, the brilliance of the Speederboat lies in its aerodynamic design and marine functionality.
- Classification: Repulsorlift-Enabled Marine Speederbike
- Role: Recreation
- Size: Small
- Weight: Heavy
- Armaments: Can be modified with covert Very Low armaments, but it's mostly for transportation.
- Defenses: Average. It does have some protection from kinetic damage, but it will be damaged by all other kinds of damage, especially fire.
- Maneuverability Rating: Very High. It's meant to zip around and be fun to ride, since it is a recreational type of vehicle.
- Speed Rating: High. The speederboat can reach an impressive speed, but struggles against waves and under-boat obstacles.
- Propulsion: Repulsorlift
- Minimum Crew: 0 - Cruise control with GPS system.
- Optimal Crew: 3 - Pilot; Passenger; Backmount seat.
- Passenger Capacity: 3 including pilot
- Cargo Capacity: Small. Cargo is for essentials only, such as the booze!
- (Detail briefly in a list format actual contents of the known abilities, special features, qualities of note. [Links: Vehicle Sensors, Approved Technology] If these are notable enough to be strengths, please add them to strengths)
- Speed:
- Maneuverability: The Speederboat moves as quickly and as smoothly as you control it, with limited possibility of an overturn or underturn unless the operator is very inexperienced with vehicles.
- Cruise Control: The UI Speederboat receives programmable cruise control along the coasts. So long as there is a human operator sitting in front of the screen, and no direct obstacles facing it, the Speederboat will continue to move towards the programmed path of travel.
- Live in Luxury: Adjustable Cup Holders and Glass Grippers; under-seat liquor storage; cruise control; a robot arm for your cigar or deathstick.
- Vulnerable to Fire: The Repulsorlift system uses bacta coolant, and when fire hits bacta tanks, they go "boom" in a spectacular manner. The operator is advised that, in the event of a fire, they have about 30 seconds (two turns) to move away before taking serious damage.
- Prone to Upending: Being that this is a recreational vehicle - and not a military vehicle, or even a commercial vehicle - the Speederboat is likely to be turned over by large waves, under-the-boat obstacles, collisions with other boats, and even collisions with people.
- Limited Uses Beyond Recreation: The Speederboat won't last long in any way other than as a part-time recreational vehicle. The Speederboat is not designed to be used in extended combat, in lengthy search-and-rescues, or as a long-term travel option (but, we guess, it could be?)
- No Front Light / No Night Boating: The recreational model does not have a front-facing light, meaning you cannot boat at night.
- Sub-Standard Repulsorlift: Marine repulsorlift works only on water. It doesn't allow for the vehicle to make extensive jumps past the water. Basically, you are moving on a track wherever the water is located. The repulsorlift does not work on other liquids like magma. (Yet.)
(Describe some of the histories behind the submission. Give us some idea of how it might perform its function, what it excels against and what some limitations of it are. This is where you talk about your idea, flesh it out over at least a good-sized paragraph, and address some of the ways it might be used or abused. For especially powerful or ambitious submissions, a very thorough description is recommended.)
