How would one specialize or enter this particular route of specialization? I only ask because i'm a fan of Republic Commando and would love to see or be part of a First Order variation.

Imperial special forces tend to be Storm Commandos, aka "shadow scouts." It's the direction I was going to take Raz before I dropped her on Intelligence.

We could have different commandos with different armor and different names. Or we could, as we did with the Stormtroopers/Moffs/Star Destroyers, have the exact same thing as canon. No one would bat an eye.
But all of that is moot until someone actually does something with special forces. No one has, so their status is nebulous.

If you really want to start a special forces style of unit go for it. We give you freedom with this. Your more then welcome to create a unit and declare it the Special Forces, in time and with a bit of history and backstory you might even get other people to start playing in the same regiment!
