Strengths:
  • Combat Potent – As is essentially a regularity with all bombers, the Sovereign Tactical Bomber is a well-armed vessel, with it’s armaments consisting of two laser cannons, two proton torpedo launchers, two concussion missile launchers, and a proton bomb bay.
  • Durable – The Sovereign Tactical Bomber is a durable vessel, with a deflector shield and a reinforced Titanium hull.
  • Easily-Modified – Like it’s fellow cousin winged craft such as the S-Wing and the Phi-Class Shuttle, the Sovereign Tactical Bomber is easily-modified.
Weaknesses:
  • Lumbering – the Sovereign Tactical Bomber is, however, a slower vessel, with a poorer capacity for maneuverability and speed as a result of the number of armaments on board the vessel.
  • Escort Recommended – Due to the Sovereign Tactical Bomber’s payload, along with its slower maneuverability and speed, it’s recommended the Sovereign Tactical Bomber have a winged escort.
  • No Hyperspace Drive – The Sovereign Tactical Bomber does not possess a hyperdrive.
Description:

Designed by the Sovereignty, The SOVSTARF-Series Sovereign Tactical Bomber (SB-Wing) serves as the standardized bomber vessel for the Sovereign Navy. Equipped with the standard array of necessary vital systems for a general starfighter, the vessel is both potent with its armaments and its durability. The SB-Wing boasts of two laser cannons, two proton torpedo launchers, two concussion missile launchers, and a proton bomb bay. For the ship’s defense systems, the ship possesses a deflector shield, and a reinforced Titanium hull with the intent of protecting the payload, in order to prevent some sort of sympathetic detonation. The vessel, however, possesses no hyperdrive, and a slower than average speed and maneuverability rating, that’s largely attributed to the amount of weaponry carried by the vessel. The Sovereign Tactical Bomber possesses a hazard and damage control system, and although it is not capable of mechanically "healing" the ship, it is so with the design of putting out electrical fires and other hazardous materials. In addition, like the many other starfighter variants of The Sovereignty, the Sovereign Tactical Bomber is easily modifiable, making it suitable for a wide variety of missions in tangent with any other Sovereign vessels.

Basic concept and ratings all look solid to me.

Starfighter Hazard and Damage Control Systems
Tell me a little bit more about this. This is an area which usually doesn't exist on standard canon starfighters, unless it's something like an astromech droid.

Holonet Transceiver and Encryption/Decryption Networks

Holonet Transceivers and decryption networks are pretty unusual to see on a ship this size. Holonet transceivers are usually quite expensive (each one the cost of a used light freighter in one book), but I'm not super concerned about this causing abuse.

I would like to know more about the decryption network. Is this capable of decoding enemy transmissions?

Mostly fluff. I operate under the presumption that there is at least some form of damage control system aboard many starfighter vessels, such as the ability to put out an electrical fire with a push of a button per say. These systems are not to be confused with the capabilities of astromech droids, as no automated mechanical repairs can really be made.

The decryption network is meant so in the regard of receiving and decrypting messages based on the encryption keys provided. It is not capable of decrypting any message, it is only capable of decrypting messages with the provided encryption keys for the sake of safe communication with other vessels.

That sounds fine. Go ahead and flesh that out in the description somewhere.

Makes sense. That's pretty much assumed by an "encrypted network". I'd like to this listed as either just an encrypted network, or explain the decryption part in the description itself.

In general, it is better to provide more detail on little things like this, just because it clears up any gray areas that could possibly cause problems. In this example, someone thinking that the damage control automatically heals the ship or allows them to automatically decipher enemy transmissions.

The damage control system has been elaborated in the description that resembles the depiction given in my previous post, and the wording of the holonet transceiver and the encryption/decryption network has been reworded as; "Holonet Transceiver and Encrypted Network".
