  • In the annals of Mandalorian history, there lived a proud warrior named Kotaar Priest, meaning 'Brave Bird' in Mando'a. A Foundling from birth, she was raised in the ancient ways of the Mandalore and grew to become an exceptional warrior at an early age. By the time she was a woman, she had already joined her brothers and sisters in their quest to bring honor and glory to the Mandalorian people, fighting with all the passion and fury of a burning sun. A true master of the rising phoenix, she would soar through the air and fell her foes from above with talons of blaster bolts and leave none alive to fear her or seek retribution. Indeed, she was said to be so skilled in a battle that she was fearless, but that was far from the truth. It was her fear of failure, and her need to be worthy of the Mandalorian name that drove her forward, but it all changed for her when she discovered she carried a child within her. Fear darkened her soul and the name of Mandalore began to mean less and less to her, her only priority being the safety of her future child, and after a battle in which she nearly met her end, that fear came to its apex.

She abandoned the Creed and left her old life behind, settling into a mundane and flavorless existence on the streets of Coruscant, wed to a spineless shadow of a man who sold speeders, of all things! It was with this man that she lived, rested, and gradually allowed her old life to slip away, her glorious achievements fading into the endless voids of forgotten history...but the story doesn't end there.

Sota, her daughter, came into this world kicking and screaming, much as her mother did. Even as a child, she was dissatisfied with her way of life, growing to resent her parents as she felt they held her back and kept her in that dreaded cage known as 'peace'. Though part of her longed to tell her daughter the truth of her past, Kotaar never once uttered a word of her history, knowing that Sota would chase after it with all she had. As a consequence, Sota became a violent young girl, full of hatred and rage, lashing out at those who she felt wronged by. All this accomplished, though, was to show her how weak she was in the face of stronger foes, always being kicked down, always being mocked and bruised for her supposed defiance - the bully being bullied, as it were. Things did not get any better with age, when she was coming of age, a terrorist attack left her scarred along the lower half of her face, severing the nerves that allowed her to hear. Left with crude cybernetic implants that kept her ears alive, she had never felt so helpless and angry, cursing into the void at whatever callous deity had visited such misfortune and monotony upon her.

As if by divine writ, that day changed her life for the better as well as for the worse. The same attack that injured her also left her mother dead, and even though she still professed to hate her, a small part of Sota did mourn for Kotaar. When she went through her mother's things, she found something that she never knew she had wanted to see, something that spoke to her on a level so deep, that she could have sworn her very soul had taken a shocked breath along with her - Kotaar's Beskar Helmet. It was burned and rusted, worn down by the years of battle, but it was unmistakably Mandalorian. Sota was a Mandalorian, she was a warrior, with a warrior's heart. She was destined for more than the dull life she had been leading, and her mother, in her mind, had tried to hide that from her. That day, Sota stole her father's ship and set a course for the horizon, pledging to find the Mandalorians and find the truth of who her mother was...the truth of who she was...

Sota bears the fire and ferocity of a Mandalorian with none of the skill that tempers her steel. She is proud, stubborn, unable to take mockery, and always looking for a fight, using even the slightest provocation to start one. At its core, this is simply because she wants to prove to herself that she is strong, and she wants others to see her that way too, she has yet to learn that there are other ways to show strength.

While it often leads her astray, her stubbornness is derived from a strength of will that dwarfs any other trait she possesses. When she commits to a path, she will see it to the end, even if it sees her broken and bloody by the end. This resolve also gifts her with a great level of endurance, as well as several years worth of beatings.

With proper training, she could become a true force of nature, a living weapon that could decimate any foe, but as of right now, she is little more than a slab of iron.
