Sorrow Is Your Tale [Thurion]

The middle of Winter

A white thick swirling smoke issued from the chimneys of Himmeldal, the snow falling on the roof at least a meter thick placing pressure of the wooden tiles, but not even the might of the snow would break it, the craftsmanship to clever for that. There is a soft light flicking in the windows, the dance of flames within the rooms, warming their home and all that dwell there. A subtle hint of roasting meat, rides on the gentle wind and if one was to listen very carefully, the song of Midvinter would greet their ears, rolling up from the valley below, the sound of the forge clinking metal to metal. It is good to be home ..

Pulling her fur around her body, Coci carries a small basket filled with ground mushrooms that live beneath the earth of Midvinter, a sauce she will make of these, the final touch to the roast of boar. The scent of them, so earthy strong and delicious easy to sense in the crisp clear environment. Her black hair coated with snow, her cheeks and lips red with the cold and her breath all white, she moved toward the door of Himmeldal. Long brown leather boot push through the icy field before her, footing unsure with each tread as she sinks thigh deep in the powdery snow. Coci did not get far, not in any hurry, before she twisted her ankle on hidden rock and fell face down in the snow and buried there out of sight. She rolled on her back, and laughed, it felt good to laugh again ..

They need this, they need the escape .. So much has happened in such a short time.
There is healing to be done, not only of body but of spirit.

After the Alliance attack on Lujo, husband and wife Heavenshield sought respite from further action by travelling to the only place where their lives were truly their own: Midvinter, ancestral home of the Valkyri people. It had been too long since last they wandered her snow-covered landscape, witnessed her awe-inspiring mountain ranges and sprawling, deep forests. The air was cold and fresh without a hint of defilement caused by the wonders of technology.

His fight with [member="Lord Mythos"] had effectively sapped him of all his energy, physical and mental alike. He'd suffered injuries to his face and left eye, sometimes causing him to see blurry after the scar inflicted by his opponent using his own sword against him. He'd broken a number of small bones in his right hand after the crushing of his gauntlet, which now was being seen to by the best blacksmiths on Midvinter. Then there were the usual amount of bruises and cuts often obtained in combat. While the outcome of the fight had ended in their favour, Thurion could not help but wonder what sort of life his once-enemy would now make for himself. To be severed from the Force must be a terrible fate, for Sith doubly so; while the Jedi regard the Force as an ally and a dependable friend, the Sith uses it as a crutch and a means to an end. Take away the crutch and what remains?

Painstakingly crouched in front of the fireplace to tend to the flames, he heard the commotion caused by his wife outside, a light *thud* followed by laughter. This alone caused him to smile and stand up to walk to the thick wooden door. Opening it caused his skin to shiver at the sudden drop in temperature, but seeing his beloved lying in the snow looking so happy made his heart ache with joy. "Come here, you..." Thurion reached for her hand to pull her out of the snow and into his arms for a close embrace. He gazed longingly into her dark, mysterious eyes before his lips met hers. The mixture of body temperatures due to her having spent time outdoors only added to the moment.

[member="Coci Heavenshield"]

"Oh, my mushrooms", she said as Thurion helped her back to her feet. It was so nice to have something like mushrooms to worry about for a change, sometimes it is the little things in life that reminds us they are important too. In this case, mushrooms for a sauce she would prepare with love for him. Had Thurion been fitter, Coci would have pulled him down to her and tackled him in the snow, instead she found herself wrapped in his arms and his lips to hers. Through the kiss, she was still giggling at herself and able to enjoy the moment. The press of his body to hers, gave her warmth but that soon would vanish if he is to stay a moment longer out here in the minus twenty degree cold.

Coci pulled back from the kiss only to look into his eyes with a smile, her eyes traveled to his shoulder length blonde hair now coated in snow equally as hers, he looked so amazing standing there in his own environment, his cheeks now flushed as the cold bit the skin and a soft gentle breath now visible to her sight. For a moment, she just looked at him as if seeing for the first time and delighted in his features.

"We better get back in side before you freeze", she said but hated ending the moment. Quickly she gathered what was left of the fallen mushrooms, she was pleased to see she still had enough for her sauce. Her hand took hold of his, to lead him but more for support so she would not fall again. By the time they reached the wooden door, the snow had begun to fall thick, the wind had picked up and high in the mountains tonight, there would be a blizzard.

Once inside, Thurion helped his wife with the furs wrapped over her shoulders, placing them in a neat pile on the wooden floor. Inside the house was kept nice and warm thanks to the ever-burning hearth and soft furs covering the floor to further isolate against the cold. No need for shoes, or even socks, which meant all Thurion wore were a pair of loose-fitting pants while recovering from his injuries. His broken hand must've been seen to a dozen times by now, properly wrapped in bandages to keep the bones aligned during the healing process. It kept him from being able to use his right hand other than for the most basic actions, which admittedly was a bit annoying. It's times like these when having a loved one close by to provide whatever aid becomes so much more important.

Doing what he could to help Coci out when preparing the mushrooms, Thurion placed them upon the cutting board one by one and held the knife in his left hand while attempting to cut them into slices, having to poke his tongue out the corner of his mouth to concentrate. Losing your dominant hand proved, again, quite the nuisance. "Almost got it..." he said while closing one eye for better accuracy. Once finished, he looked over his work... and made a playful frown at the poor handiwork. "Well... I said almost." Perhaps he ought to leave the cooking to her for the time being.

She was grateful to Thurion for removing her fur, as soon she entered the room it was like walking into an oven. Placing the basket of mushrooms on a side board, Coci quickly removed her footwear and jumper she had on under the fur, in no time she felt the warmth of their home within her blood. As Thurion took the basket to the kitchen, she watched him walking away from her, a light limp in his step still, and his hand heavily bandaged. Her brow furrowed as she drew in her lips to purse them, her hand raised and went to her forehead pressing it there as if to iron out the worries. Her mind is occupied with other thoughts, things that need to be spoken of yet she will not. Firstly, she needs to find Thyrian, she needs to speak with him about that day, to confirm it was actually him she shot before she tells her husband. There is still a semblance of doubt in her mind.

Coci went to the kitchen to find her beloved attempting to cut the mushrooms, she stood in the door way just watching him for a moment. Such a fine man he is, so caring and gentle, with such thought in his mind for her that he would risk pain for some of her mushrooms. As she approached, her hand reached out and stayed his hand. "Never mind them", she said taking his hand and resting it in hers. Coci looked at the hand all bandaged up as if she could see through the cloth, "You are mending, I sense it .. but I must see to the rest of you. After dinner .. ". She would see to healing the rest of this injuries.

"Shall we eat at the table or on the floor in front of the fire?", she asked as she got some plates. She would see to the sauce soon enough, Coci placed the plates down next to the chopping board. "I love you", she said letting out a sigh, she just hoped he would remember that in the future .. when the time comes.

Feeling his broken hand in hers, Thurion let the kitchen knife rest on the cutting board as he turned to his wife. "You ask as if there's more than one answer," he replied, smiling before placing a kiss upon her forehead. "I love you too." Leaving her to retrieve the plates and cutlery, Thurion hobbled over to the fireplace to put another log in. They were well supplied with firewood since last time when Thurion had taken the time to stack up, so there was no risk of them running out. Besides, the valley they lived in had plenty of forest, with one tree enough to warm them for a week if need be.

Thurion lay down among the furs in front of the fire, facing the ceiling riddled with Valkyri symbols with far grander craftmanship than those he'd carved when building their house on Tabaqui. While most were still foreign to him, he'd learned to make out a few of them, and he was getting better at the language of his forefathers. His bandaged hand resting upon his chest, the other nestled behind his head to act as pillow just as Coci appeared with plates and cutlery to set their "table". As soons as she came into arm's reach, however, Thurion grabbed her and pulled her in for an embrace upon the floor using his good hand. "I'm still strong enough to handle you," he told her with a mischievous grin. "Even with one hand tied behind my back."

[member="Coci Heavenshield"]

The fat from the roasting boar dripped into the open flames making the fire spit and sizzle. The meat of the boar so tender and ready to be carved, Coci kept an eye on it while she prepared the mushroom sauce, placing them in a pot with some stock and vegetables to bring out the flavours and juices. She dipped the tip of her finger in the sauce to taste test, "Hmm it needs something", she wiped her hands on her clothes while looking around for the answer.

Then she remembered something they had in the larder that would be perfect. While the pot simmered she went to fetch some apple cider brewed here on Midvinter, it is a drink more the children and has no alcohol content, she poured a good amount in the pot and stirred all the while watching the water boil to reduce. Once she was satisfied, Coci pour the sauce in a boat and sat it on the tray to take to the main room. After she had carved the meat and placed the roasted vegetables on the tray she went to find Thurion.

"Dinner is ready!", she proclaimed as she walked in to find him on the furs all relaxed looking at the ceiling. She could not help but glance up to see herself, not one cob web, not here in Midvinter. She placed the tray on the floor by the fire, the water for drinking already in place, she moved to join him Coci was 'set upon' by her husband and he wrestled her to the floor. Coci met a set of eyes piercing and mischievous, his lips betraying him not only with his words but his grin. "Shall I tie the other one to see how you are then?", she asked with her own mischief. "I am sure I could find something to 'bind' you". There would be no more words, her lips found his in a kiss that would have more heat ..then the fire in the hearth.
[member="Thurion Heavenshield"]

"Well, I'm already down one hand, so I guess tying it would just be a formality," he replied while losing himself in her eyes yet again. She always had that effect on him, being able to grab his full attention in the blink of an eye, quite literally. "How wonderful life is, now you're in the world," he told her in a whisper to the sound of the crackling fire, the flames casting their reflection in her eyes to marvelous effect. It was at this moment that their lips met, his bandaged hand settled behind her head while the other wrapped itself around her waist to hold her close. Their kiss remained unbroken for what seemed an eternity, and yet it was not nearly long enough.

What interrupted it was Thurion's tummy making a rumbling sound, awkwardly turning the romantic moment into a humorous one as he couldn't help but laugh, only to suddenly stop when his body protested in its weakened state. "Hmm, I guess we should eat first to make sure the food doesn't get spoiled," he told her with a constant smile on his lips. The palm of his hand found her cheek to caress, still unable to tear his eyes away from her.

[member="Coci Heavenshield"]

Her laughter had begun before the kiss had ended, a chuckle escaping from the corners of her mouth. As they broke the kiss she opened up into a full laugh, while still holding him, "Nothing .. nothing will tame the savage tummy", she jokes as she sits up taking his hand away from her cheek to hold, before bringing to her lips to kiss for sooth. "Now I shall serve you", she said moving over to the tray and taking up a plate she piled it high with boar and vegetables. The meat of the boar is tender and had fell away from the bone, he would not need to cut but she made sure the portions on his plate where bit size. She did the same for her own and once complete, Coci stood up and fetched a small table on which they could eat. Once everything was settled, they could feast.

She poured some sauce over her food, and placed the boat in front of him if he wished for it. For a few moments they sat in silence, enjoying the meal, her head turned to the double glazed window and outside the blizzard raged, the windows white with snow, visibility vanished. "We shall have to dig our way out tomorrow I think".

The wind of the blizzard entered through a small crack in the tiles of the roof, and began to howl and whistle around the rafters. It made it's way down to their level and danced among the flames of the hearth, causing them to flicker and grow. For a moment, the strength of the fire increased sending into the room a radiant heat and glow that reflected off the surfaces of the wood, all polished and gleaming. She could feel the lick of it on her skin, both fire of the flame and ice of the wind. Snow that had banked up on the chimney dropped a small parcel into the fire place and sizzled while melting.

Coci cast her eyes upward and listened. It was beautiful, "Listen", she said softly in whisper, in fear of disturbing the song.

She closed her eyes to enjoy it, she could have sworn she could hear the song of a she-wolf calling her young to safety. Coci allowed her mind to entertain this thought even if not real. Then, she lowered her gaze to her Thurion sitting across from her, her mind and body in complete bliss just because they are together. She watched over him, looking over his body for the signs of injuries that would need attention soon, her own had healed enough but the wounds of the heart and soul take longer. He is a warrior, and no warrior is complete without the writing of the battle on his body. He is beautiful.

The wooden plate he'd been offered by Coci was full of tender meat and vegetables, and so Thurion happily digged into his dinner. His wife's cooking had always astounded him; before he met Coci he had done what he could around the kitchen for him and Nina, but he was no great chef by any means. Since they all moved in together cooking real food suddenly no longer became a hassle, and with Coci's magical touch every dish turned into pure delight. Gazing across their miniscule table by which they sat upon the floor with their legs crossed, Thurion marveled at his beloved's face as she ate. There was something so special, so intimate about watching someone you love eat that he couldn't put his finger on. All he felt like doing was remembering every line of her face and how each seemed more perfect than the last.

"Or maybe we should just stay here until it melts away," he suggested with a smile on his lips, falling in love all over again just from looking at her.

Focusing on making it through his meal using only his left hand, he did his best to cut the meat using only his fork before carefully raising a piece of it to his mouth. Sometimes it failed, sometimes it didn't. How crippled he suddenly felt when his good hand was removed from proper usage. Why couldn't everyone just be made ambidexterous and be done with it? When finally he was able to clumsily fill his mouth with the delicious meat, the wind began to sing through their house, coupled with the faint howling of the Midvinter wolf. "It would seem Mother Wolf and you have a lot in common," he told her with loving eyes. How lost he would be without her...

Once dinner was done, Thurion downed his glass of blue milk with utter delight. Each time he tasted the stuff he was reminded of every time he had done so in his lifetime, ever since having been introduced to it thanks to Asha. All of them were good memories, and he would not wish to lose them for anything. "That was wonderful, Coci. Thank you," he offered his beloved before wiping his mouth using the back of his hand. He always forgot about napkins existing, even now as an adult. Thurion then lay down among the furs once more, reassuming his former stance using his good hand for a pillow with his broken hand resting upon his chest. Now his tummy instead made a noticably content sound, as if thanking her for the food as well.

Once the meal was completed, Coci sat looking at her beloved laying on the furs, her meal would go a long way to help him heal further as she had prepared the food with love. She packed up the plates and glasses piling them on the table which she moved to the side. The washing up can wait. "Mother wolf huh?", she moved toward him on her hands and knees, her long black hair draping around her face.

"Now let me take a look at you", she said drawing near and sitting beside him facing the fire. She raised her hand and placed them on his lower torso just below his belly button. Her palms rested against his skin as the warmth of the force began to charge through her hands and skin into his body. It is an energy force that would spread from his core to seek out those injuries still needing attention. Coci closed her eyes to focus, allowing the force to guide her to all part of his body and mending and knitting small wounds internally. Her ability to heal is good and would go a long way to help him now, but deeper more serious injuries would require the aid of the Silver Healers.

"Thurion?", she spoke as softly as the wind. "I want to talk to you about something. An idea I have .. for our future". She opened her eyes and watched her own hand as it progressed upward over his body toward his chest. Coci would find the superficial cuts and nicks on his skin and close them over.

"With your blessing and that of Thrand's .. I think we should build a Jedi Temple on Midvinter. Nothing grand, like Voss, but somewhere we can go to train with our padawans in a more pristine environment. Also, we are not going to be leaders of the Silver Sanctum forever. The day will come where we shall hand over the leadership to younger minds and bodies so they can take the Sanctum to an even more greater place". Coci considered the idea to be a small enclave of Jedi, that when the time comes .. they could teach the way of Heavenshield.

"I know we still have much to do, but it would not hurt to set the first 'stone' in place. If you like the idea, and when we are both fit once more, we could go climb a mountain". she smiled as she looked down on her beloveds blissful face.
[member="Thurion Heavenshield"]

Feeling her hands upon his skin, Thurion breathed deeply as he could feel the healing energies run through her fingers into his entire being, focusing on every little cut and bruise suffered during the fight. When she then began talking about the future - their future - his eyes opened and his propped himself up on both elbows. He reached out to settle his good hand against her cheek, so soft and pristine, and he smiled. "I think it's a great idea," he said softly as his thumb caressed her lips. "We'll speak to Thrand about it before we return to Voss. I know he only holds Jedi in the highest regards - he married one, after all..." It was still a difficult subject to him; he knew full well she did not give birth to him, but she is the only mother he has ever known. She even went as far as adopting him.

"It would have to be somewhere far from the rest of Valkyri society. We don't want to impose on Midvinter traditions; you know how set in their ways they can be," he told her, after which he sat up and embraced her tight. His nose rubbed against hers before their lips met once more, which soon went from tender to playful to passionate. They both soon found themselves on the floor among the furs, she on top of him with his hands roaming her backside. "Please... *kiss* be... *kiss* gentle... *kiss* with... *kiss* me..." he managed between the barrage of kisses they both partook in.

As night descended upon the Clenched Fist, mightiest of the Midvinter mountains, the two lovers and spouses would delight in each other's bodies as they had countless times before.

[member="Coci Heavenshield"]

He all but spoke the last of his words when he pulled her to the fur. Their lips meeting time and again until the overwhelming need to display love would not be denied. They met as one, riding the waves of their love to the rhythm of a song so old, that the origins of which only the Gods could tell. Maybe it is the song of the Gods themselves, giving a gift to two souls as they form as one. It had happened before, here on Midvinter, and tonight it happened again. She heals him again, and he her, bodies giving adoration to the other with each touch, each touch that would take away the pain of the soul.

On the coming of the morn.
The chill of the air prickled her naked body causing Coci to wake. She moved slightly to turn to see the hearth fire all but out, but the remains of embers still alive. Coci gently removed Thurion's arm from around her waist, hoping not to wake him and she turned to place some wood on the hearth to rekindle the flames. With a little nudge of the force the flames burst upward and set the room with it's yellow light. The wood crackled as the flames bit the wood, she moved back to her beloved and for a moment, just sat on her hip propped up with her arm with her long black hair falling across her breasts.. to watch over him.

The rise and fall of his chest was steady and deep, which told her he was in bliss, in a dream of quiet and calm and she hated the thought of him having to wake from it. Yet her hand moved to his body, unable to resist to feel the texture of his skin. Her finger tips traced the old scars of old battles, they are not to be pitied or hold sorrow for, no they are testament to his strength, not just physical strength but that of his power in the Light. How in awe of him she is...
[member="Thurion Heavenshield"]

Thurion had been out for the count ever since falling asleep in his beloved's arms after an evening of love making, and failed to notice when Coci had slipped away to tend to the withering fire. When her fingertips began tracing the lines of his body, however, he began stirring from his blissful sleep only to be greeted by an even more blissful existence in the form of his loving wife by his side. As the fireplace lit up once more thanks to Coci, Thurion opened his eyes to find the most important person in his life lying next to him, her black hair unkempt and a complete mess from the night before. He always did prefer her this way, secretly... Or perhaps not-so-secretly.

"Hey," he whispered, barely audible while looking up into her eyes. From cheek to cheek he smiled, unable to take his eyes off her once making contact. "Did you know I love you?"

His bandaged hand reached for her, allowing his fingertips trace the features of her face down her neck to caress the softness of her skin between her breasts. "You know our first mission together? When we both happened to take the same shuttle to that moon, whatever it was called? From the moment I first laid eyes on you I couldn't keep them off you, during the entire trip there. Every time you looked my way my heart skipped a beat, unable to comprehend how beautiful you were."

"With each day you've only grown more beautiful," he spoke before while entwining his fingers in her dark hair covering her breasts.

[member="Coci Heavenshield"]

Soft eyes looked upon him as he woke, watching his chest fill to capacity once as he had take in a morning breath. She stayed her hand upon his lower torso allowing one finger to trace circles on his skin, "I had noticed", she replied to his question of love, with a growing smile. The truth of it was that Coci could not remember the name of the moon either, which mattered little to her and him, but that day and what had happened held greater importance. Oh how important he is in her life now.

"You were very .. persistent", she tilted her head to the side as he played among her hair. "I had noticed you too, and when you saved my life, risking your own in the process, I knew you were something special", she grinned. "And very good looking on top of it all".

Coci moved her hand along to his upper chest, feeling the contours of the body, the tightness of his muscles and soft to the touch. "I was so.. closed back then. Living deep within myself to shut people out. Yet you come along and in one night destroyed all of the protective walls. You made me feel things, emotions I had not thought possible. And each and every day, I thank the force for bringing you to me".

She shifted her position pulling around the furs to cover them entirely living in their own world and leaning in until only an inch from his face, finding his sapphire blue eyes marveling at them. "I am in love with you", her words even the Gods would not hear spoken so softly under the covers. Thurion's lips only a breath away so inviting, Coci parted her mouth kissed him as if it was the first time.
[member="Thurion Heavenshield"]

When she wrapped the furs around them to hide away from the world and its worries, Thurion gazed upon the face he had woken up next to for so many years. Never in his lifetime would he ever grow tired of finding her resting beside him, looking so peaceful and serene. Never could he imagine not being at her side, forever and always. Theirs was a bond unbreakable by both time and space. "Ek elska þik," he returned her declaration of love in the tongue of his people. Then they kissed like never before, her taste sweet upon his lips. His arms wrapped themselves around her waist to pull her on top of him, their naked bodies connected from top to toe. The only sound that could be heard was the crackling of the fire, acting as their only source of light and warmth. It paled, however, to the person in his arms. She was the true light in his life.

"All of me loves all of you, Coci." Words were, in the end, worthless at fully describing how he felt for her. His hands reached down her backside to give her bum a gentle squeeze as they kissed once more.

[member="Coci Heavenshield"]

Under the fur, their bodies moistened with the heat of the fire and the heat trapped within. The words he spoke, that of the Valkyri, she had not heard before at least not in this language. Yet, by the way he looked at her, by the way he touched her body there was no need for translation. Her heart now swollen with love never ending for him, reacted to the words which would be forever written on her soul. She would not tell him she loves him, she would show him.

Just outside the window, the icicles that had formed through the blizzard began to melt under the rays of the sun, a constant dripping faint as it was, drummed among the cacophony of the crackling fire. It was soft gentle beat which would only match two hearts beating as one.

His insatiable appetite only matched by her's, evident with the firm massage of her backside. Leaning in closer until her lips kiss his jaw, Coci makes her way along his neck. She could feel a small pool of perspiration gathered in the small of her back, and as she sat up the droplets ran down her body as the fur fell away and revealed them both to the flames of the fire. The yellowish light glistened on her naked body as well as his, and her eyes hungered for the sight of him.

Coci would begin to make love to him, the rest of the day lost them as the sun rose and sank in the Midvinter sky.
