The Dark Side had not touched the Graywall in centuries. To feel its malignant presence now had put the castle's inhabitants on high alert, and its seers had quickly gone to work in locating the source of the corruption. It hadn't taken them long to find it. A simple reading of a map charting the nearby regions allowed them to pinpoint exactly where it was coming from - an old cave a few dozen miles from the Graywall. The cave itself was unnamed, and whatever history it might have held had been lost to time.
Cedric hadn't cared. He just wanted that dark presence gone before it could harm the alliance.
A small group of speeders had set out from the castle at dawn, their occupants having been tasked with assessing the threat of this presence, and destroy it if they were capable of doing so. Cedric rode at the forefront in a six man speeder, his brow furrowed as he reached out toward the darkness. When he brushed against it within the empyrean, it did not respond.
"I don't think it's sentient," he mused to the group of passengers, "I can't feel any distinct thoughts from it."
The cave drew near, and Cedric fell silent.
