Dxun

The jungle moon of Onderon was infamous. Not only did death await you at every corner, but it held a long standing history with both the Mandalorians and the Sith. The Dark God relished places like this. Not only did every rock and tree hold a story to be told, but there were countless relics forgotten by time hidden in the jungle.

The Plaguebringer landed in a clearing, the ship powering down her engines. As Lord Sennou departed the ship, the Plaguebringer's cloak activated, rendering the ship invisible. He wore black pants, a black sleeveless shirt, and combat boots. On his belt, six sabers hung. On his back was a large bag that held supplies and maps.

He was here to meet an old friend. There were many souls in the Galaxy and the depths of Chaos he called allies. Dawn was slowly creeping over the horizon. Sparking up a cigarette, he took a long drag. This trip should prove to be interesting.

The laser tipped wings folded upwards on the black hulled Delta-class Escort Shuttle. Its repulsor engines caused a whirlwind of leaves and dust to kick up off the floor of one of the few open clearings in this dense Jungle. Thadd's shuttle, not the most beautiful ship to set eyes on, was a deadly variant of its older cousins that dated back into the days of the Galactic Civil war. It's wings finished folding up forming the clasic tri-wing fold that marked a shuttles aproach. A final *thud* shook the bulkheads as the shuttle's landing gear softly impacted the firm ground.

"Dxun." Thadd read aloud the name of the data readout that spilled out over the operational screen to the right of the cockpit. "The Demon moon..." Thadd's face reflected the blue glare as he fixed his gaze on the description. It wasn't really a suprise that the "the dark god" would pick a place like this. Thadd was hoping he made the right choice to meet up with Avicus Dusang on this moon. He and Avicus had recently been "taken in" by the Omega Protectorate, as they were now calling themselves. Thadd at heart was neither a dark, nor a light jedi. And even though Avicus claimed no current alliance to such dark organizations Thadd could feel the cold seep out of him like an open door to a freezer.
But... He was his comrade. And he was hoping to "learn" something from his new brother at arms. This would be the perfect session of training that he may have recieved in quiet some time. And he might actually pick up a few relics to sell on the black market, or back to one of its insane Mandalorian owners.
Thadd radioed in. "I'm on my way Avicus..." @[member="Avicus DuSang"]

The landing ramp hissed open on the shuttle and let in the ripe stench of the jungle moon. He had his medium blaster rifle strapped to his side and his sword on his back. His black silicon-blast armor reflected the greenish colors that surrounded him. He slung a small pack over his one shoulder and set out on one of the beaten paths. He clicked a button on his wrist unit and the landing ramp behind him hissed once more, like the mouth of a giant insect closing.
He thought to himself. Welcome to Dxun....

The jungle’s of Dxun, as savage a place as any full size planet could dare to boast. If the flora and fauna didn’t claim you the ancient soul of a sith lord or a mandalorian warrior would slice you to shreds. This was Arumi’s truest home and his element that he thrived in. He moved through the dense under brush like a beast stalking its unsuspecting prey. He stopped for a moment as he sniffed the air, taking in the acrid smell of smoke. He is black combat boots were caked in mud and crimson streaks of liquid from some unfortunate victim ran down them. His black fatigue pants and black wife beater were hidden by the cloak that hid the mandalorian breastplate beneath it.
He smiled as he moved closer towards the smell of the offending smoke, his hand moving towards his lightsaber. He cleared a bit of brush before him, silent as death he watched the black clad man moving. He was waiting for someone, for something and he was that something. He ignited a saber and rushed at him swinging in a high arch at the mans head. Flicking a cigarette up into his mouth and lighting it off of his saber.
“ Dusang, long time no see brother”.

The feelings of dread @[member="Thadd Zarr"] felt around him was a common reaction. Although Avicus was no longer affiliated with the Sith Empire, the Dark Side was written into his very genetics. And there were a plethora who walked in darkness who he considered close allies.

Yellow eyes watched the Lieutenant's ship descend and land not too far from the Plaguebringer. Pressing the small comm piece in his ear. "Very well, Thadd. Rendezvous here. I hope you came prepared. Dxun can kill you a million different ways. It earned the name 'Demon Moon.' The name of the game is survival."

Finger removed from his ear, he took another drag from his cigarette. The Force whispered to him. The Dark God was being watched. Black tendrils called a green hilt to his free hand. As olive fingers gripped the cool steel, the smell of the kill filled his nostrils. There was a predator nearby.

Yellow eyes fell on the red blade of @[member="Arumi Zy"] as he ducked and shot to the side. White lava blade sprang to life as the crimson blade was brought up to light the Mandalorian's cigarette. Avicus chuckled, deactivating his blade as the green hilt flew back to his belt. He brought the man in, holding him tightly, yet briefly. "Far too long, brother." His brother in arms was covered in gore. He smelled of death and the jungle. How he craved to smell the same.

"Time has been good to you."

"Time is irrelevant, but the ages have not hurt me much" he said as he took a deep drag of his cigarette. The smoke billowed from his nostrils as he looked his friend and the equipment he carried over. He was far more prepared the Arumi was but thar was to be expected of those who had not lived on the Demon Moon.

" the beast have been moving already, I have seen several packs and something big has been stalking me all morning"

He patted his trench over and pulled a small holo projector from one of the interior pockets and sat it down. The projector came alive projecting a map with several points. " I hope you do not mind but I took the liberty of scouting a bit. No mando'ade camps near this vicinity but I found a tomb with a pirate infestation. It looks mandalorian but no sith artifacts possibly" he moved his hand towards the next point " something big was here, lost sight of it but I saw some old ship wreckage" he moved to the next point " this here was a stairwell the ruins long gone. No idea what is there. You have anything in that hog Podge of over preparedness? I am sure you have uncovered a map or two" he said with a smile.

Thadd gripped the trigger of his medium X9 blaster rifle as he tucked it snugly into his armpit. The clearing was just ahead and he heard the sound of lightsaber humming. He crossed into the clearing where he saw Avicus and another share a brief hug and then merrily conversing. He heard the mention of "beast" and then a holo-image appeared. Several points appeared at random locations on the map.

Thadd quickly lowered his weapon to as not to accidently get shot by anyone of his journeymen and entered into the clearing. He wiped the greenish juices of a nearby plant off the side of his face and gave a quick nod and bowed his head slightly. Maybe it was the jumble of force energies that were found on this moon, or even in the nearby vicinity of the 3 force users, but they hadn't noticed his approach. Our senses must be dulled, or unfocused here. He thought to himself. He cleared his throat as the two larger men standing almost with their back to him, "Luietenant Zarr. Reporting in Colonel."

"A nocturnal predator this far north?" If that was the case, the creature was watching them from the shadows of the jungle. There were parts of Dxun that were so choked with foilage that light never touched the ground. In those humid pockets of darkness dwelled nightmares so deadly, men have been rumored to drop dead just from the sight. It was impossible to tell how many lives Dxun had claimed. What the predators and fauna didn't consume, the millions of species of scavengers would devour. Whole bodies were erased from existence in a matter of hours.

The holoprojector was produced, the map illuminating. "I had a feeling you'd start without me." he mused, taking another drag off of the cigarette. He listened to what the scouting mission turned up. When maps were mentioned, yellow eyes lit up. "You have no idea." Dropping to his knee, bringing the bag before him.

Opening it up, he dug through various bottles of wine and water. He produced three metal tubes. Looking over the coordinates marked, he pressed the button on top. Slowly, the tube opened up, reveiling an ancient map. Another button was pressed, four legs extended, holding the map up. Slowly, he stood. Olive fingers ran across the protected paper. "Relics from the Mandalorian Wars. Scout maps that couldn't be easily read by the enemy. Look at these inscriptions. But, the strangest thing is this right here." He said, a finger laying on a point of interest.

"The only point that's not written in Mandalorian. It's Sithese. Tec'nu shar..." he whispered, yellow eyes moved.back to the projected map. "The stairs you found lead to a structure called 'River of Chaos.' Or, atleast what's left of it." It was then that Thadd walked up to the pair. True, he mostly went unnoticed. But it was because they were focused on the map.

"It's just Avicus today, Thadd. We're not on the clock. This trip is purely recreational." He took the last drag off of the cigarette before dropping it to the ground. "Lieutenant, this is Lord Fidelis. Fidelis, this is Lieutenant Thadd Zarr." Introductions had been made. This young soldier was going to face a hard lesson in survival.

“ Lieutenant” he said without taking his attention away from the array of maps that Avicus had provided. He listened to his old friend intently and took several more drags from his cigarette before he patted his trench down again producing his pack and lighting another smoke.

“ I ran into a descendant of mine some time ago and he told me a story” he said as he tapped the river of chaos area on the map. “ About a creature that emanated with darkness, an unstoppable creature that seemed to feed on the fear of men. If we know anything, something that strikes fear into mandalorian warriors is nothing to scoff at.” He said as he took a deep drag of his cigarette and turned his gaze steadily on Thadd then back to Avicus “ The description he gave it sounds like a Chrysalide, a kind I have never seen before. If it is indeed a sith tomb and it has one of those foul spawn we may be in for a fight that I hope your friend here is ready for”.

Dxun

A cloaked fighter had dropped him on the planet that the Republic had offered him before heading back into space. In his time in cryostasis, Mak had learned the harsh truth of how he had been frozen for over seven hundred years. It hadn't been easy on him to accept the fact, but after accepting a position within the Galactic Republic, he had begun doing a search on old enemies and allies.

Most were dead, which had both saddened him and made him feel content for each individual he saw, but sometimes the truth was stranger than fiction. Not everyone that had once been an enemy of Mak's was dead. Two that were dangerous were Avicus DuSang and Arumi Zy. He had a deep history with both Sith, and it was one he didn't relish, seeing he had almost been killed by both men. Though, if anything, time hadn't tempered his feud with the Sith, and it wasn't going to stop now.

Moving slowly, he began to track the two, trying to find their location.

Thadd looked back at @[member="Arumi Zy"], trying not to show any fear in his eyes to the great dark master. He repeated his words. "Chrysalide.." He cleared his throat for a second, "They make rancors seem like gutless kittens..."
Thadd's thoughts wanderd off for a moment thinking of what it would be like to actually go toe-to-toe with a creature that he had only ever read about in story books that were used to scare young children. A mix of excitement at meeting the challenge and honing his new abilities were now boiling in his blood.

"When do we get started on our journey" He looked at @[member="Avicus DuSang"] and Arumi with a fiery zeal in his eyes...

A cold smile spread across his lips. "Then it's there for one of two reasons. Either it came there by chance and mutated over time or someone bound the creature to the area. Which means whatever artifact is buried there is of immense power."

Thadd's description of the creature gave his fear away. He gave the Lieutenant a reassuring pat on the shoulder. "He's ready or Dxun will claim him as her own." Yellow eyes looked back at his companion from the Protectorate.

"Harvest your fear. Sharpen it into a weapon. I warned you the Demon Moon rarely gives up her living, and never surrenders her dead. She is a warrior's playground, culling the weak from the herd. Mind her lessons well, or you'll become an example of them."

Yellow eyes then snapped up. "It couldn't be..." he whispered. Dxun was a world of darkness. A Jedi stepping on her soil sent a ripple throughout the jungle. And this particular Jedi had proved, at one time, to be a very persistant thorn in his side.

"The stakes keep growing, it seems."

Thadd's eyes fixed on Avicus... His senses weren't as sharpened as his comrades force abilites, but he too felt the presence. Like a fire burning in the middle of a black horizon.

"What would you suggest? We get moving or we "engage" the Jedi?" Thadd wasn't particularly keen on either of the ideas, but he knew he would follow his more experianced comrades lead.

It was harder to sense out individuals on the moon due to the darkness the planet held, but he could sense Arumi and Avicus a bit better due to their presence. It gave out a black aura of evil as he came closer. Since knowing they were alive, he had wondered how they had survived the many centuries. While he had been in cryostasis, had they found some way to cheat death?

It wasn't new with the Sith, who were always looking for the way to live forever, but it unnerved him to know they had managed to be in the current year. Lighting up his pipe, he didn't care if the smell of the tobacco gave him away. By now, they had to know he was here. He would be a sore spot in all of the darkness when a beacon of light stepped on the moon.

The only question was, would they play a game with him, or would they come to find him immediately?

" something old and something powerful, i doubt it is a chrylsilade rancor as far as my research has shown only this Sidious had done those" he said as he started to rummage through his trench again. " Something we havn't seen or heard of most likely or one of the local beasts. Either way it wouldnt be here unless there was something worth protecting" he said as he found what he was looking for. A small orb was in his hand, small enough to be mistaken for a pebble.

" hyper nutrition cubes, i would suggest dropping some of your bulk Vic."

His head snapped around towards the side as he felt a presence he hadnt felt in many centuries. " We are not alone out here it seems then, i am sure you sense him as well. I wonder if he is hunting us or if he is out for a strole to find some more tobacco for his pipe? Or perhaps he has sought us out to turn to the dark side or maybe" he stopped in mid sentance " He has come to test his metal against us together. That would be interesting" he said with a chuckle. " So i say we get this edible buffet on the move before he appears and brings a horde of hungry preadotrs with him".

The Plaguebringer uncloaked as he walked back onboard. His pack was unloaded sans for three bottles of wine, a bottle of water, hyper-nutrition cubes, and a carton of cigarettes. Stepping back outside, the ramp closed. The ship once again cloaked.

Pushing two buttons on the map, it once again became a metal tube. Handing the tube to Aru, he smirked. Flicking his cigarette off to the side, he cracked his neck. Yellow eyes then turned to Thadd.

"Jedi Master Mak Manto is, frankly, persistant in being a pain in the ass. He's tracked us here to Dxun, more then likely to hunt us down. So, we'll let Dxun play with him. Her trials will distract him, weaken him, make him lose focus. So, for now, we embrace Dxun and all the lessons she has in store for us."

He began walking towards the treeline, ready for the dangers that awaited them.

The presences were beginning to grow weaker, which had to mean they were moving farther into the forest. It was dangerous, seeing the moon was a haven for them, and also that they might have traps set up for him. He knew, too, the beasts on the moon were savage and dangerous. Pretty much, it was a death trap for him to be here.
Though, he needed to find the two. Bringing them to justice was a necessity. How, though, would be the tough question. As he started slithering slowly into the forest. Hearing the roar of creatures unknown, he glared at what was ahead and move forward, unwavering.
