Private Solar Powered Fists

Soldier.

No, that wasn’t right, was it?

Mercenary.

That was probably more accurate.

Danielle was making her way back to the Core, she had an extended leave from galactic events following her posting with the Galactic Alliance. The galaxy needed Force users again. The Sith were clearly up to something, and the soldier knew more than most what could occur. She had been born during the fall of the former Alliance, and well, since then she joined up with the next group that popped up. The Alliance again.

There was a lot of work to be done, but what she wanted was to take the proper time to find where she belonged. Was she a Jedi? Not quite. She had been taken to a Temple at a young age, but the way the Jedi were raised, and what was expected of them to keep the peace, seemed to be counter to one another. She tried her best to keep to the Code, but she opted to become a Wayseeker when she returned from her first tour of duty.

She supported the Jedi, but having been raised in a Temple of the former Alliance, she was exposed to many different cultures of the Force. And that was why she took her leave from Order, and when the time was right her discharge from the military. She found the Matukai and took the time to learn from them. She had heard a lot of different Force groups, from the Light Hand to the Zeison Sha. But the ones that called to her were the Matukai.

It was now that she stood looking over the valley, sunrise. She had passed her trial, and was part of the Solar Hand, a sect of the Matukai that had a penchant for summoning solar energy. She’d seen Jedi do it, but not quite this naturally. Around her neck was a small golden charm, a necklace made of a crystal from deep within Kravoss II. Her lightsaber, reforged with a blue blade, but not any blue, the blue one would see from looking directly into a yellow sun for too long.

“I suppose its time to get back to the galaxy, isn’t it?”
She looked over at Khyra Tani <inactive> Khyra Tani <inactive> another Solar Fist of the Matukai. "Maybe time for a spar before hand?"

When Khyra had taken to her own path from her surrogate parents, she found time and again that there was a reason the Jedi paired people up, the Sith worked in twos or more, and every other Force using group likewise set things up with partnering and groups. Part of it was just to keep people from going mad, though having one's own ship took the edge off on that score. Part of it was to make sure there was always someone around to do a high-risk rescue, or at the very least remember the fallen.

Part of it was to provide a way to keep your skills sharp without having to find ever increasingly dangerous situations. A dozen turns around the star that shone down on them right now had been a time when Khyra had learned that lesson and found the Order of the Solar Hand. The ones who stayed here seemed closer to the Jedi in aesthetic but seemed looser than those she had met from the various Orders of Jedi. Others who had come through at various times were everything from spacers with nerf-herder hair and blasters on their hips to Sun Guard warriors that took the skills of the Solar Hand and translated it into armor. The thing that united them all was an affinity for fighting with fire and the power of the suns. She hadn't known when she had seemed to stumble across the planet, but her surrogate mother had trained here before striking back into the galaxy. It almost seemed like a family tradition was starting.

“I suppose its time to get back to the galaxy, isn’t it?” She looked over at Khyra Tani another Solar Fist of the Matukai. "Maybe time for a spar before hand?"

Khyra smiled, a very similar golden charm hung around her neck, glinting in the light.

"If you're wanting to play up the dirty spacer look, then by all means." Her smile turned cheeky as she replied to Dani Stellaris Dani Stellaris and rose smoothly to her feet. Aside from the necklace, Khyra wore light, flowy pants in a dusky tan, tall leather boots of a darker brown with red highlights, an off white/almost cream tunic, and a wide multicolored sash that seemed to be of every color of light on the visible spectrum and shift with her movement. Her braided hair was tied back, and she left her own jacket on the ground where she'd put it, though she rolled down her sleeves. "Three touches or a submission?" Khyra asked as she settled into a loose fighting stance, hands open and deceptively low for a guard.

The thing about the galaxy was it was a rough place, it was a war torn place, but it was a place that was plenty strange and wonderful as well. There were plenty of places that needed protection, maybe more than need to be wiped from the face of the galaxy, and history. She learned from the Jedi Temple on Sullust that it was up to the Jedi to help protect those that couldn’t protect themselves, but that Jedi were also not soldiers. She was a soldier, it was what her lot in life seemed to be, what destiny called to her. Why she needed to be off Kravoss and back out there.

Being planet bound, or hell, even station bound, for too long just wasn’t how she wanted to be. It wasn’t what she craved. Freedom and purpose were the things that she was after. Unlike Jedi, Matukai were not against attachments, it didn’t seem, it didn’t seem that they were the ones that restricted people from wanting adventure. And now, she was armed, quite literally, with the power of suns.

And she could feel that power through her. The Force, but focused, warm and burning, but not overpowering. A part of her. She was going to use this to help the galaxy.

“Dirty spacer? Me? I don’t think so!
” She laughed and shook her head. The woman was wearing light weight tan leggings and a loose tunic. Her jacket and other gear were at her ship, short of her lightsaber. The leather belt was around her waist, just above her hips. Taking that off, she moved to put her blonde hair up in a loose ponytail and took a second to center herself, to reinvigorate herself with the Force.

Cracking her neck, she turned and grinned. “What if we go three touch.” Nodding, she was bouncing on the balls of her feet, her hands in a high ready-guard. Waiting to see Khyra Tani <inactive> Khyra Tani <inactive> step into a ready stance and Frenzy moved in, a left kick feint followed by a right hook.

“What if we go three touch.”

Khyra nodded back as she finished a deep breath with a slow exhale, just as Dani Stellaris Dani Stellaris moved in with a low kick and her hands primed for fighting. She shifted her stance back so the kick would miss, and almost neglected the right hook. Her shift made the punch go off target, though the Thyrsian warrior exhaled hard when the fist hit her left shoulder.

First touch, Danielle.

The thought came through her mind with the voice of Master She-nu, who often presided over practice and tournament bouts for the trainees.

Before the fist got pulled back, Khyra made a grab for the wrist with her left hand as she sifted her right foot forward and pivoted. Her goal was to turn the successful punch into a shoulder throw. It wouldn't count for a touch in any of their tournaments, but it was a great way to gain some space to plan a next move.

She was a soldier, there were rules of engagement, sure, but there was also the victory. It wasn’t that should would be breaking any agreements and conventions, even if some of the foes out there don’t hold to the same level of respect for war and life than others did. What she was going was moving fast, she used the Force to enhance her reflexes. She knew that there were times where she could slow others down, speed herself up, but when dealing with another Force user, she knew that was only going to lead to someone becoming tired by the stress, and it was better to protect one’s mind, one’s reflexes and abilities.

That was what she was doing here. Focusing on the trick she had been told was called ‘Force Body.’ The trick of that was it didn’t speed her body up. And when Khyra moved to perform a shoulder throw, Danielle could feel her body moving. She didn’t want her body to move that way but she could turn it to her advantage.

If she wasn’t going down that fast. She tried to move her legs to get them under her, but even Force-assisted it was a feat. The blonde just wasn’t ready for that and she fell, stumbling, and rolled on her hip before steadying herself and turning back to face Khyra. “Nice move.” Balancing herself, the Matukai Adept was watching her partner, calling on the Force to center herself for combat.

“Nice move.”

Khyra's lips quirked into a smile as she set her right foot back, turning it perpendicular to her left foot and sinking into a deeper stance than before. Her hands were up in defensive positions and she was focusing as well. The light level around them increased slightly, and Khyra took a moment to rub her shoulder a bit.

"
Good hit, I was cocky." She chuckled again, then set her hands back in a defensive posture. The quirky smile was still on her lips.

She pushed off with her right foot, though didn't take to the air like a normal Jedi would take ground, instead she quick-stepped forward to maintain balance and executed a force push towards Dani Stellaris Dani Stellaris 's front knee, then flashed a roundhouse kick towards where her chest currently was. Her aim was to get her friend off balance and execute a clean strike or take her to the ground.

Taking the second to fall into the Force was definitely a Jedi Guardian move, but the Matukai could awaken latent ability in anyone who worked for it. She was a Temple Youngling once upon a time, so the Force was as familiar to her as breathing, second nature. That was why she needed to find a way to get a better handle on it. The Jedi kept their emotions in check, but Danielle earned her nickname Frenzy a very specific way, by being fire personified.

Probably why she was selected for the Order of the Solar Hand.

“I wouldn’t go that far.” She smirked. “You’re welcome to, but I wouldn’t.” A bit of an ego on her, clearly. Watching her opponent, she was focusing on her aura.

The quick-step was unexpected, most Forcers threw themselves through the air. Trying to correct her mind and expectations, she felt the Force hit her knee, and the leg twisted. Doing her best to keep from allowing it pop out she moved, but it wasn’t quick enough as the roundhouse kick. A move that pushed her back and over. Using the momentum she fell into a back flip, as she hit the ground with her hands, there was a bit of a warmth that erupted as the Force seemed to spark around her.

A grin on her face as she came at her friend with the Force swirling, casting light, similar to the solar fields, around her as she came in. A right hook coming, enhanced by the Force, moving towards Khyra’s head.
