DESCRIPTION:
With the Alliance's governance of the core worlds weakening, certain actors saw an opportunity for rapid corporate growth. The failing Solar Energy Corporation, still recovering from the sudden death of its CEO, received an enormous amount of seed money from several sources at the same time. While the board sacrificed a majority of their equity to obtain the seed money, the capital proved enough to allow them to shed their failing systems and start opening up facilities on planets within the Galaxy without the Alliance constantly peering over their shoulder.
The Solar Energy Corporation is in the business of energy production. While the board dreams of one day creating a dyson sphere, or mining isotope 5, for now they extract tibanna from gas giants and geothermal energy from volcanic activity.
RATIONALE:
Lin Kai is the current majority shareholder, having inherited his deceased father's equity. However, a Quermian named Callum Longinus is the CEO. The board deemed him to be reasonably manipulable for their purposes. The board itself is mostly comprised of Mirialans, although odd aliens from Hutt Space tend to show up at meetings and exert an unusual amount of influence on proceedings.
