Private So You Found Another Way (Peyton Steele)

"Technology, yes. Weapons. Hypergates and Star Forges and all the rest. We have them, to an extent, but there aren't many straight lines between that power and the safe reclamation of our homeworlds.

"As for contact, when you leave here my people will give you two comm numbers. One for you, and one to share with your associates and the Scar Worlds commanders and so forth. For avoiding misunderstandings and trespasses and so forth, yes?"

What she was concerned about now was why he was being so helpful. She hadn't really come bearing any true weapons. A stunstick was defensive. And her own Honor Blade was stored on the Starbird, safe in her bunk. Well, as safe as it could be with Cuan's flying. "Not interested in anything galaxy shattering… and Star Forge? I thought they were a myth…" She quickly stuttered a that to they, hearing the plural on the Thrella's voice.

But if there were more than one, maybe the Scar Worlds shouldn't be picking fights.

"But we'd be glad to help with what we've been doing, our processes, to repair worlds."

Listening to Shath, she found herself nodding. "I can get it into the hands of the brass, so that they'll have a way to reach if something they do is misinterpreted, absolutely."

She was hoping she had enough informaton to help her cause.

Shath said nothing to any of that, just smiled and nodded. Truth be told, he'd oversold the Forerunners' technological capabilities. The cocoons had held people and little else. A broad stretch of void separated a Star Forge from, say, the Rakata engineers who could probably build one — or an Infinity Gate from the Kwa priests who could probably wake one up.

If necessary.

"I'm glad we could come to a peaceful resolution." He gestured at a door. A harmless, glowing, half-tangible thread snaked out from his fingers and marked the quickest route out of the Sharu pyramid. "Follow the line and you'll have no trouble."
