So I have a pretty genuine question

And that question is regarding a character that I used to play I just, I can't resist trying to reform for the purposes of having my favorite little sith around to play with. And part of her original story may need to be altered, so I'm a bit, lost trying to figure out how to change it, or if I even need to do so in the first place. Since I don't know where else to turn, I would like to ask for some help.

The original character's story, though of course extremely condensed, is that she was an ancient sith lord who became obsessed with her ever expanding power, and fear of death (and therefore losing it). So she stalked the infamous Tulak Hord for some sort of secret, and discovered his body-swapping ritual. She stole the secrets and began using her own descendants as tools to perfect the art.

However far down the line, she loses some of her sanity as age begins to take a toll on her mind. She usually would take various suppressants and mood stabilizing drugs to maintain what she could, until the time came to leave for a new body.


Of course for RP purposes her powers would have declined, but I'm *very* much struggling with figuring out what needs to change <if anything> regarding the whole basis of her original character there... Any suggestions?

Seems fine to me. Just keep in mind we're in 845 ABY. That's 841 years after Episode VI, or 816 years (give or take) after Episode VII (I forget what exact year episode 8 was set in)

If you want to have a Sith from the ancient times there’s a couple of ways to do it. The first would be to have her imprisoned in carbonite/stasis/timeloop or whatever. Said captivity has robbed her of her strength so she needs to relearn her powers so she can eventually reattain the rank of Master.

Alternatively, have her latest body swap not go perfectly and she has to regain her connection to the Force.

[member="Valiens Nantaris"] Was actually a character that had her origins on SWTOR of all places (thus why her story involves Tulak's ritual I learned about in the game). The way her story worked there she was introduced in a different enviroment than here. Long story short, the system they used wouldn't translate to here.

It's totally fine though, just means I get the pleasure of having emotional breakdowns at her loss of power, followed by violent insane outbursts.

Though honestly he terrifies me on a certain level. And before I forget: Do I just use wookiepedia for a list of force powers, or is there somewhere in here that lists them (so i dont accidentally write her list, which will naturally include the powers she's currently lost the ability to use, with restricted or banned powers)?

As for force abilities, you can make use of the wookieepedia list or just wing it - you're free to use it as you'd like, within reason.

Yeah, use Wookiee for the powers, you’re free to use any within reason as Braith says.

[member="Valiens Nantaris"] I might bother you or Miss Braith to double check the powers as far as what makes sense and what should be possibly unlocked as she goes (i.e. when she gets promoted from apprentice level to the next level and then the top).

You can go two routes here, depending on how you want her to be generally.

Either she’s reduced to using the most basic level of powers, like a single lightning bolt of mild power.
Or she could be trying to call on the more powerful lightning/telekinesis etc and it fails for her, even backfiring and blowing up in her face. Like, she goes for a Palpatine style lightning storm but it goes out of control and zaps her as much as the enemy.

Whichever you prefer I guess. Depends how willing you are to hurt yourself.

Honestly its good my RPC's arent remotely real, or they'd have a love hate relationship with me. As for powers..
