Sneaking Around Like TeenageGirls...

Kay-Larr

It didn't take long, but Kay had gotten her visitor's visa for Alpha Mae. It took some convincing for her to get Terrac to pilot her there in the Free Lady. The old man had refused at first, but he knew the ship like the back of his hand. And she promised him a case of whiskey. She didn't want to bring anyone else with her, but Terrac insisted that she bring one of her guards along. So she chose Einon. He always had that no-nonsense look on his face and was former military to boot. He was a man of few words, even looked bored most of the time, but that was just for appearances sake.

Kay had Terrac land the Free Lady nearest to the hotel that [member="Faith Organa"] told her to go to. It was only for a couple of days. That was all that she could spare at the moment, and neither of them wanted to get into trouble. It was strange to have to sneak around like teenage girls, but really, they were old friends caught on either side of a bloody feud, and there was no other way.

Einon left the Free Lady first, with Kay following up behind him as they made their way into the hotel. The Royal Aldera Guard were already there, waiting for them as soon as they checked in. And without even allowing for Kay to go to her room, they were escorted to where Faith was. The newly elected President fidgeted with the strap of her satchel, just a little nervous at seeing her after all this time.

Alpha Mae.

Faith stood up when Kay entered the room the guards immediately tensed "Its ok everyone relax, Captain Lindsey please take everyone outside."

Faith growing heavier with the twins did not, could not stand for long, "Hello Kay, Welcome to Alpha Mae." She smiled, "Come sit, before I fall over and can't get up"

Faith sat down breathing out slowly, "Kark of thing isn't it have to run off and let everyone think we are doing something else."

"Let's not start with politics ok, let's start with drinks and snacks. My body seems to always be hungry" She pressed a button, prearranged it was this plate of foods, a hot pot of water, and for Faith, juice or milk. The milk was ok, the juice...well...she couldn't have too much of it.

"So, let's do small talk first, what's new?" She grinned as Ana came in with the tray smiling at both women, she recognized [member="Lady Kay"] and bid her welcome.

Kay wasn't surprised when the guards tensed up. It was odd though, as she wasn't the type to go out of her way to hurt anyone. Unless of course they were slavers and she was on a mission, but still, her blaster was always set to stun. Regardless, she didn't bring it today anyways.

Einon went outside of the room with the other guards, though instead of keeping watch, he went off ahead to check on their suite.

Her mood brightened with [member="Faith Organa"] 's humour. She dug out her tea pouch and immediately set to making some tea, once Ana had arrived with the platter. While the tea steeped, she walked over to Faith and gave her a light hug. "What's new with me? Nothing outside of politics. But you've certainly done well for yourself. How far along are you?"

[member="Lady Kay"]

"Delivery in about three months or sooner depending on how they feel" She sat wiggling a bit trying to find that comfortable place. "Politics...blink and the way of the galaxy changes. Wait a week, and it will change again." she looked at Kay.

"So this is Alpha Mae and so far so good. OH I found the presents, well Ana found the presents and they are now in our apartment on Alderaan. Crevasse City has these spectacular views in the evening, the rest of the time, its just a great place for architecture."

She had a glass of water, she made a deal with herself about what she would drink during this pregnancy. "So President now...how did you decide to do that?"

Some things just happened. Other things were well planned.

Depending on how they feel...Kay couldn't imagine what it felt like to have little bodies growing inside of her and she never will get to experience it. Part of her was glad for it, as she was getting too old anyways. But the other part of her was sad for what she could have had. Maybe it was just a natural reaction that was typical of being female, she wasn't sure. But she did her best not to dwell on it very often.

"Running in the election wasn't quite my idea. I was sort of pushed into it by my friends and adopted brothers once they had heard about it. I guess that they wanted me to settle down, instead of spending my time roaming the Galaxy. And I suppose it keeps me out of trouble this way. For the most part."

She picked up her tea when it was ready and had a sip. "Alpha Mae is lovely. And good architecture can be difficult to find in some places. But great to study.

Have you thought of names yet for the little ones?"

[member="Faith Organa"]

"Oh that whole family pushing you, I know that feeling all too well." yes her family had pushed her to get her out of the house, off the planet and doing something other than moping around Alderaan. yep familiar tactic.

"I have news for you, assuming positions of influence only increases the amount of trouble you can get into. Why? Well I have found that people think you have tons of credits, or influence that should suddenly benefit them in some way. Or worse they show holos of you when you weren't anything but having fun"

Faith looked at Kay, "I'm cynical on some things. Anyhow names, yes we are thinking of Laira and Theo. After Draco's sister and my brother Theo. Course I've been teasing Draco with the names Iggy and Aggie for the last few months hoping to get him to make up his mind, it didn't work.."

Faith laughed, "He's so ready for this to be over and meet them its something he didn't think he'd have."

She smiled at how much he was ready, "He's changed in a lot of ways, and just as stubborn in others"

Kay raised a brow slightly at the thought of people wanting to take advantage just because of her position. She had stayed well away from that sort of thing, and as for holo vids? Well there was nothing out there for her to be embarrassed about. She was hardly ever alone and all of her time was spent working, unless of course she was drinking tea in a tea house or something. So there was no hassles there. "I won't have any influence for long. I was elected and it can be taken away before the term is over. So there's nothing that anyone can gain from there. Afterwards, I'd just be back to being a regular citizen again. I think that only coming here would get me into trouble. People would think that there was some bad motive behind it when there isn't one."

She smirked a little at Draco's indecision. "Just tell him that you'll name them after me, and THEN he'll make up his mind right quick." Kay sipped her tea. Of Draco changing, she wasn't sure. It certainly hasn't been evident from what she had seen or what she had heard. But it didn't really matter anyways. She hadn't been in his employment in a very long time. Not since he was turning dark and forgot about what his company stood for. "But those are lovely names."

[member="Faith Organa"]

"Elections are good. They have their perks for certain" Faith thought for a few moments she did not know if she would like an election, High Council support was hard enough to get as it was.

"Coming here shouldn't get you in trouble, its a neutral world that few know about and as for [member="Draco Vereen"] I wonder what he would say" She laughed, "He would probably stare at me for a bit. Then say..." Faith made her voice deep, "If that's what you really want, but you'll owe me" Faith laughed again. Rewards he always liked rewards.

"Some folks always want to think the worst Kay it's their nature. Its hard when things have been bad for a while"

Faith leaned forward and got a sandwich, "I don't think I've ever eaten this much food in my life" she bit into the sandwich.

"Isn't Commenor in Sith space?" She thought it was.

[member="Lady Kay"]

Kay laughed at [member="Faith Organa"] 's impression of Draco. "By the Force, you sound just like him!" If she had sipped her tea at that moment, it surely would have snorted out of her nose.

Things had been bad and are continuing to deteriorate. But, other parts of the Galaxy there was peace and no threats of others coming to punish them for wrongs committed by another or by what banner they fly. Fortunately the entire Galaxy wasn't at war.

Kay sipped her tea then, nodding a little at where Commenor was. "Yes, Commenor is in Sith space. But they have left it alone. I have a variety of people from different walks of life in my cabinet
The Sith are represented too. Commenor is more or less a neutral world. And if the leaders of the Sith come knocking, they will be told exactly that."

Faith smiled again she couldn't help it Draco would laugh at her too if he heard her. Faith settled back war was not pleasant not one ounce of it.

The Mandalorians were a culture of war, but she knew that there was a movement to try for peace and perhaps they would all find it even if only for a short time, a moment.

"I can't wish the sith away, but I know Alderaan would rest easier if Sith borders were not a stone's throw from us. But I have to admit they have been awfully quiet lately, and now it's the First Order that concerns me."

Faith contemplated a few things in her mind for a minute, "My Cousin Claire doesn't seem to think they are a danger. I just don't think I agree." She looked at Kay. "They bear an incredible likeness to Imperials, and if history has said anything it's that Imperials don't believe in freedom"

The world that she was bringing children into, was it safe?

"What do you think?"

There were many that she had wanted to wish away. But it was impossible. It was always far easier for her to disappear for a while. And that was something that she had done before.

Kay sipped her tea, and then cleared her throat a little as [member="Faith Organa"] asked her about the First Order. "They are dangerous, but not as bad as some. So far they have treated myself and Commenor very well. But that could be part and parcel of the position in the Galaxy that Commenor is in, as well as it's high economic standing in trade and commerce. They are having an Embassy built, and vice versa, contracts have been drawn up for the promotion of trade. In a way it's a safety net, just like the other Embassies are. If we keep them all happy, then there is no need for them to cause us harm."

And it was a good way for them to gain more information. They also could use the extra taxes for bolstering their own defensive projects in the works so that Commenor could be fully sustainable again.

"[member="Natasi Fortan"] treats Claire real well. And [member="Marzena Choi"] is a wonderful client from what I am told. Its hard to put an evil face to someone that's treating a member of my family so nicely, even offering Claire the opportunity to open a store on Bespin. Claire is probably going to do it my Aunt Rekha has her bar out there still so...she'd have family there too. Though none of us have seen Rekha for a few years now."

Faith thought about it, she really did need to talk to her again, and a lot sooner than later.

She watched [member="Lady Kay"] , "I'm actually tired of trying to keep up with the politics of the galaxy lately. But I have moments where I miss the Senate miss feeling part of something larger than myself" She pat her stomach, "though I'm not sure there is anyone larger than me right now"

"I hate that things between us seem...tense Kay." Sometimes it happens Faith thought but it doesn't have to stay that way.

Kay-Larr

"Oh I don't really keep up with the politics of the Galaxy. I couldn't tell you of what most other governments are doing or even what side they are on. I can only keep up with what's going on around me. As for the Senate...well....we both know that I had spent most of my time elsewhere doing other work. But you probably aren't missing much. And soon you'll be busy with a new job that some will never have. You'll be a mother. I can imagine that it'll be a full time position with many benefits and bonuses." Such a thing would never be possible for her, but maybe it was better that way anyways.

As for the tension, Kay nodded a little and then had another sip of her tea. "I don't like tension either, but I'm stubborn and sometimes too outspoken. A lot of people don't like that and it just makes them angry. But their ways of lashing out doesn't ease tension. It just makes it worse. I don't like having to sneak around to save myself from getting into trouble, but it's just what needs to be done right now. I don't trust people so blindly anymore. Not when there is so much fighting going on. But maybe things will get better in time."

[member="Faith Organa"]

"Being a mother is a full time job. But I have two planets that rely on me and my family to ensure their safety. I got nobles on Alderaan who want to put a monopoly on phrik trade, as well as some are set upon having a war with each other, then there's the other trade agreements. There's only so much phrik around on Alderaan and it can't be our only export. Then there are the raiders on the mines."

Faith exhaled hard the weight of it all, "Aldera trade agreements are so much easier. Artisan goods, some phiridium, gems, gold, minerals in exchange for technology. And so far no really cares that it's on the map."

As for trust, "Trust is hard anymore. I was seeking an advisor for Aldera but I think I'm going to wait now. The galaxy is shifting again and I want someone who will work for Aldera not for themselves."

Faith reached for another finger sandwich, "Did you know Nick Sept passed away?"

Death she had not thought about Nick dying, as part of the WolfCat Order she well she just didn't think that he would go so quickly, so soon.

Kay was quite glad to not have the same problems as Alderaan. Sure Commenor had it's own problems, but it was nothing that people would go to war for. The only threats that they had recently were the Black Tie Syndicate when they were hired to attack all of the planets in their sector. Fortunately Commenor was spared, but they had fleets there to protect them. Just as they do now.

As [member="Faith Organa"] mentioned Nick, she raised a brow. "No, I didn't. I'm sorry to hear it. I didn't really know the man well as we never held any private discussions, but that doesn't make his death any less of a loss." She didn't know if he had a family or anything. In a way she hoped that he hadn't, so that he wasn't leaving anyone behind. Kay sipped her tea, leaning back against her seat. More than likely he died in some kind of pointless battle. There were so many of them going on, that she was sure that it was just being fueled by the weapons and shipbuilding companies to bolster their profits.

[member="Lady Kay"]

"Yes, it was unexpected. It was odd he left us a hunting cabin and made us promise to take the children there." She thought of Nick again, "He was one of the ones that help to find me that day I crashed on the mountain. I'm sad that he's gone."

She looked over at Kay, Faith was a bit tired.

"So Kay what can Aldera do to help Commenor?" Aldera was hidden away not far from Alpha Mae but had resources that it could share.

Kay-Larr

Kay nodded a little. That was nice of Nick to do. Though she didn't know that [member="Faith Organa"] had crashed on a mountain. It must have been quite the adventure. No doubt it was happening while Kay and some of her friends were trapped on a planet known as Graveyard....Life had a funny way with people, moving them apart and pushing them back together. It certainly kept her on her toes.

But now the change in topic. In a way Kay welcomed it. "Well I don't see it as a way that Aldera can help Commenor so much, but how we can both help eachother. It should go both ways. We could share our goods, help in getting them to markets that are out of both of our reach and even have some of your Scholars visit our University and expand on any culture and history that we currently have in our library. We have classes that focus solely on foreign affairs and diplomacy. They would be honoured guests with their travel and expenses covered. And then in a couple of years, after your little ones have grown a bit, we could have you come and speak, maybe even teach a little."

Faith made a face, "I can see the exchanging of goods as Aldera wants to remain in the background of the galactic picture. I can see an exchange of culture. I do not believe that they would at this time be receptive to classes to teach them diplomacy and foreign affair, they'd would take that as Commenor telling them they lack this skill and it would be an insult to them. I think if we stick to an exchange of good right now that would suffice, if any merchants from Aldera which to expand their relationships with those of Commenor they do it on their own of their own volition."

Faith rested for a moment, "Draco and I have a busy schedule ahead of us with visits. I think my children will be spending time growing up on a ship more than at home. Which I"m not sure which is good, or bad. Times being what they are. And Alyesa is at times missing in action leaving me the responsibility of Alderaan.....and home"

Not what she had envisioned. But here it was..again.

[member="Lady Kay"]

Kay sighed a little and shook her head. [member="Faith Organa"] missed her meaning with the visits to the University completely. Maybe she didn't hear every word that she had said. But there was probably a lot on her mind. "They wouldn't be attending as students. I said that they would be honoured guests, expand our knowledge, and have their expenses paid for. They could give lectures and speak of Alderaan's ways. But if they'd see teaching Commenori students as an insult, then don't worry about it."

A welcomed change in topic again. "Living on a ship has it's ups and downs. At least being on the move a lot would make one less of a target for one's enemies. But you should be fine. I doubt that Draco would put you all in harm's way." At least she hoped so, anyways. But some people were just itching for battle and would use any excuse to start one. Children, babies, they were hardly a cause of concern for some darksiders. Instead they were targets to be wiped out. It was a sad state to see the Galaxy in such a way again.

Perhaps there was a confusion of names, "I can see if anyone on Alderaan would be interested in teaching, but I was speaking of Aldera and their culture is not quite the same as Alderaans. They are not receptive to outsiders it takes time and patience with them to change" Faith gave her a little smile a confusion of words is what often led to stupid wars.

Faith lived on two worlds and held position on both, Alderaan and Aldera. She right now in her visit with Kay was offering trade with Aldera.

"Alderaan will be sending me out on a good will tour to build embassies on Capital worlds and worlds that seek to have a relationship with Alderaan. Aldera on the other hand seeks trade goods but does not always seek Embassies, because...the people need to be courted first and Draco and I are working on that. They...offer such beautiful artisan work, and there is a slow surging of desire to share these skills. All the crown jewels of Aldera were made by the artisans there it is their crowning achievement to offer the royal family those creations for their use"

The jewels did not belong to the family they belonged to Aldera.
