Always Crankin'
Back in the day, when I wasn't so ambitious about working the galactic gears, I started a little faction called the Smugglers' Alliance. At the time, we had a fair amount of active smugglers on the board and we just had a good time of it. I think real life hit some folks and things just went quiet one day. Eventually I deleted the faction because I couldn't drum up enough interest anymore and there really was no point.
I don't see much smuggling these days. Honestly, it really saddens me. I've always loved the dream of space travel and being a pilot. There is just so much to explore--especially in this fictional universe--and imagination to churn up. Some of the threads I enjoy the most are just about how my character likes to spend their time while traveling through hyperspace. Especially if you have some crewmates. Freighters are decent-sized ships, but they get pretty small after time and what you do with your friends while essentially trapped inside your vessel can get very introspective or entertaining. I love it.
I hope there are people out there who feel the same way as I do.
I'd like to start up smuggling again. I've been getting back into writing this beloved character and rediscovering just how much fun it is to be simple and fly around on a whim, shipping cargo in and out and stocking up for the long haul. And the more the merrier.
I'm not here to start another faction. But I'd like to just have a network around; people we can hit up randomly and ask if they want to pull a job. Can still call it the
(Heheh, the tag is still around.) and just identify by it.
As for me, I'll be flying around either way. And hoping some people would like to join in. Spacers make the galaxy go 'round.
