Smoke and Mirrors

Klatooine, Kossak - Abandoned Warehouse

Malachor had fallen, and Katarr was the place where the Prophet's power was reborn again. But he had learned more from the overtake of his cities than that he had to build a new world for himself. While his connections linked him to business all around the galaxy, only his ventures on Malachor, Nar Shaddaa and a handful of smaller worlds where really profitable. If he wanted his operation to survive something like that fall of Malachor another time, he needed to extend his hand into new places.

For a while his agents had monitored the situation in Kossak, a hutt city on Klatooine. They had predicted it already, but now their prediction had become reality. Several key players of the city's underworld had vanished, leaving the smaller gangs to fight each other for small parts of power, while the positions of real power stayed empty. The sith lord had decided to change that.

The Chorus didn't worked like common criminals. They were a combination of Cartel, Intelligence Agency and Dark Side Cult, and each of these branches had a use when it came to controlling the shadow societies, the pockets of crime all around the galaxy. He had traveled light, with only a handful of additional agents working as the enforces of his will. The first strike would come silent, unseen to the outside and obscure the web of power that he was creating in the city.

His agents moved out, each of them armed with a gun and a suitcase full with credits. During their surveillance before this day they had seen through the connections of the different gangs, what they sold and what they needed, and who their rivals where. All that knowledge would play into his hand now, while the others would barely notice what was happening.

When the sun rose above Kossak, multiple murders had been committed. Gang leaders where struck down by their rivals, while others had been erased silently. To the public it was just another day of gang war, and it would take weeks or even months until it would become fully apparent that this seemingly unconnected acts worked together to allow a figure in the shadows to rise to power.
