Smells Fishy To Me

Onyx sighed. "Why the hell am I here?" he asked himself silently. He was in the swamps outside of Theed, the capital of Naboo. He had to refuel after a recent chase out of Hutta after trying to steal some goods to sell. The reason why he was in the swamps, because of the Republic.

Because Naboo was a Republic planet, he needed his informants to fuel for him while he waited in hiding. Onyx was just walking around. The only thing that feared him more then the Republic discovering him and taking his ship, was being discovered by the local inhabitants of the swamps. "Gungans...." Onyx mourned. He hated them. To him they were a speech ridden race of squids that deserved nothing but death. He sat down on a log and hopped someone or something would show up so he could have some fun before leaving the planet.

Stealing from the Hutts. That was something nobody tried to do, if you did it you did it but if you fail.... "You end up like this poor bastard..." he muttered in Huttese. With his Verpine Shatter Rifle set up about half a klik away from the target, he would either have to kill him from a distance or fight him up front, and with this armor and his weapons...He would rather not get within reach of this guy's telekinetic powers or his lightsaber for that matter. Shaking his head solemnly he slid up the Verpine target assist goggles and linked it to the computer in the rifle. Within a few seconds he had a shot lined up. All he needed to do was pull the trigger. Once, maybe twice. With the natural silence of the weapon he could maybe pull off two shots before the target heard anything.

He didn't know what the man tried to steal. But that didn't matter, he had a job to do because once you cross the Hutts, your life becomes a living Hell. He knew this all too well from personal experience. Luckily this one rouge move didn't damage the relationship that the Hutts were planning to create with the Sith. Just this one little soldier...Just this one was going to go where ever Jedi and Sith went when they died. "Say 'Goodnight!'" the mercenary whispered. Wrapping his finger around the trigger he pressed the trigger twice in quick succession, launching two metal alloy projectiles.

Onyx sensed someone. He wasn't alone. He stood up from where he sat and looked around. He looked through the trees into the distance. Suddenly he saw a flash of light. It was a refection from a rifle. Onyx suddenly realized what was going on. He ignited his red lightsaber in his right hand and raised it, just blocking the two shots that had been fired on him. He deactivated it and jumped into the thick tree lines above. He knew that whoever it was wouldn't be able to use the rifle. All he had to do know was close in on him. "This will be fun." Onyx whispered to himself as he slowly made his way towards the attacker.

Uttering a curse in his native tongue the Rodian stood, leaving behind his gear and heading to the small transport he was given for the mission. Donning his armor and pulling out a swoop from the cargo bay he completed these tasks in deep thought How could he have dodged the shots? The Verpine shatter rifle was one of the most silent guns out there. Maybe, maybe the first shot could have been dodged, but the second? It was mere seconds behind the first shot. But wait. He remembered something. The goggles he had been wearing obscured it, but he swore that he saw some sort of light block the shots. Which meant "Jedi..." he muttered. But why would a Jedi attempt to steal from the Hutts? Maybe it was one of those rogue Dark Jedi. Either way he hopped onto his swoop and headed in the direction of his target, the engine roaring and echoing throughout the swamp.

Little did he know that his target was actually a Sith knight, heading for him. Ready to kill.

Onyx sprinted through the trees without a sound. He could hear the loud humming of engines from a fighter in the distance. It didn't phase him. He continued. He reached a clearing and saw the ship hovering, about to take off.

With a powerful kick was launched towards and through the window of the front end of the ship, igniting his bright red lightsaber in his right hand as he landed. He smiled under his mask, knowing it would be the last sight this shooter would ever see.

Crash!
'What just happened?' The Rodian hunter thought to himself. Looking up he saw what had landed on the front of his moving swoop. And it wasn't Gungan. It was tall, black, and very angry and had a red lightsaber. "Aw frak." he was barley able to finish the sentence before physics and gravity began to work, the sudden weight and force of the Sith flipping the swoop and sending it crashing into the ground, quickly catching fire and breaking off into shrapnel and spare parts. Vuko was launched out of his seat flying forward. With quick thinking he was able to grab hold of a vine. It snapped and he fell onto the soggy surface of the swampy forest in a side roll. Catching himself and rolling to his feet he looked back at the wreckage, hopeful that his would be target died in the crash.

Spitting out a small amount of purple blood he reached for his blaster pistol. Absent. Lost in the crash. He had left his vibrosword on the shuttle. This left him with one option, and honestly with his attacker using a lightsaber, it was his best option. Activating the spring launcher, a vibroknife, shaped like a trench knife was fired into the air and grabbed. As he walked, he carefully watched the wreckage, half expecting something to come from the flame and attack him.

Onyx laughed. He was going to have fun taunting this soul. "You think you can kill a Knight of the Sith Empire? You are sadly mistaken!" Onyx yelled. His voice echoing through the swamp. He was in the trees. But he was sith. He was using his mind tricks to throw his voice from different directions. Second after second another taunt fell out and echoed. "Dead meat" "Bounty hunter dog" "Rodain slug" were just a few of the insults that were filling the echoes. Onyx, still taunting and throwing the Rodain into different directions, began to make his way to his backside. "Boo!" Onyx yelled into the ear of the hunter. The Rodain fell down with fear in his eyes. "Wanna try and explain yourself before my blade cuts you down like paper?" Onyx said. His face was hidden under his mask, making his appearance much more menacing. His lightsaber was ignited and was inches from the neck. He was ready to kill.

The fire crackled and hissed. The sounds of metal melting and popping echoed in the forest swamp. So his original assumption was wrong. This was a apparently a knight of the Sith empire. And he might be screwed... Thankfully, in the night he had a slight advantage over many humanoids. He could see pretty damn well in the dark, and as the taunts kept coming at him he began to wonder how sane this man was. These things weren't phrases that hurt him, or made him feel bad. However, if this so-called Sith was going to play hide and seek and throw his voice around...

Closing his eyes he let his natural gifts work. His antennae twitched, attempting to feel the vibrations that someone of the Sith's size would make in the air as he spoke. That didn't work out well. He tried movement next. That didn't work either. "Boo!" he felt the heat of the lightsaber coming near his neck. What happened next he would never be able to explain. Raising his cortosis vibroknife he pushed the blade aside, following through with his elbow, the armor's hooks swinging across the Sith's face. If either his elbow or the hooks connected the Sith's mask would probably come off, revealing his assailant. Regardless, before he could see the the outcome of his counter Vuko ducked and rolled forward, attempting to dodge a possible counter attack. He knew that if there was any part of his armor that had a chance against deflecting even one slash from a saber it would be his back. Landing back on his feet, facing the enemy he was ready to fight again. "You have been marked by the Hutt Cartel. I'm simply here to show you a lesson." he said in Huttese.

Onyx laughed. "Speaking Huttese will not phase me. I am also afraid to inform you that I haven't stolen anything. I tried to but my ride bailed on me. So I decided to just forget about the Cartel." Onyx replied in Huttese.

Was this man insane? Intimidating was the last thing on his mind. He should have went straight back to the Sith where he had been safe. Well, how things are going so far he shouldn't have taken the job. But he felt that he was getting closer to the Hutts and if he could make his way up to a General-like position in their Mercenary army maybe he could find some information about his lover and sister. But first this man had to go down. And fast. <Regardless if you had stolen or failed in your attempt the Hutts seek to teach you a lesson and make you an example upon their recent return to power.> he replied. Eyeing his vibro sword stuck in the ground to his left he slowly inched toward it and jumped suddenly at the blade in the brush.
**OOC: <This> means in Huttese
