It was said that War never changes. Such a phrase found itself spoken time and again throughout history. For it was the truth. The concept of War never changes, as what does change - is how it’s participants fight one-another. Sapient life continually evolves, both on and off the battlefield, to survive, and best all that would threaten their way of life. So, it was only natural that they devised weapons to defend themselves, and become the master of their surroundings. Such was the intentions of the Thyrsian Artisans from the TwiSuns Forgeworks. They dreamed up and later realized the next evolutionary step in the ever-advancing throes of modernized warfare.
From this endeavour, the concepts of SmartBlaster™ Technology were torn from the drawing board and pushed towards their inevitable production. At its core, SmartBlaster™ Technology utilized a hyper-advanced Nano-missile that was scaled down to fit a wide variety of Small Arms weapons. This miniaturized warhead featured several integrated technologies on the nano-scale that allowed the projectile to perform amazing feats in the line of fire. The most notable of these features was that the Nano-missile was capable of altering its trajectory to strike at a painted target, even if they ducked behind cover, or threw themselves around a corner.
Such a functionality meant that, once you were marked for death, it was unlikely that you could escape death’s cold embrace.
However, with such words said, there were always exceptions to the rule. Some variants of the SmartBlaster™ Projectiles were designed to be Non-lethal to Organics, ideally working towards incapacitating their targets- rather than killing them. Several technologies existed that may, or may not render some of the SmartBlaster™ functionalities useless, or ineffective. Then, there was also the possibility of the SmartBlaster™ Projectile losing their digitally marked target through the various Cloaking Technologies that interfered with the missile’s target-lock, or multiple obstructions.
Despite these apparent drawbacks, SmartBlaster™ Technology would revolutionize the personal aspect of modern warfare. Taking cover and throwing oneself out of harm’s way would no longer become a wholly-viable option for many Soldiers. Such technology would even enhance a Bounty Hunter’s toolkit, by providing them with another means of capturing their Marks in the most efficient way possible. The same could be said for Local Law Enforcers, and Countless other groups that populated the known Galaxy, as the functionality and possibilities of the SmartBlaster™ were seemingly endless.
